Texsting with IE

Nope! oh well, I'll just have to remeember to use Firebird on this site since I have both installed.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

OK, this is great! I hate to appear as dumb as I am.

Does it catch capitalization or lack there of?

tisting lol!! oh der, it sems nt to work for mee! No words underlined. I guess the truth will continue to be out there!

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

LOL Im getting a kick out of reading all these!! Brugie.. you have a what?? where???

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

CAPTILUCASHUN? O WOWZIEEE! THIS MUST BE A GOOD THRED! DAVE'S FOREFATHURS AARE ROLLEING IN THEEIR GRAVES RITE NOW!

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Trying it now. Neat! It might be more obvious if the underline was in red or another contrasting color. I almost missed it, and I was looking for it.

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

And if y'all didn't notice, if you hover over an underlined word, suggested words pop up. I'm using Firefox 8.

Those of you still using IE can use the IEspell folks are alluding to here at http://www.iespell.com/

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

I am a Gooooose of Siam!

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

ok Gardenwife, but have to have hubby investigate the validity and safety of that before useage (as you know he IS a control freak). lol! dang would I be in trouble if he read my posts! Hey Dave! Make me log in with a password! (the one I chose)

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Karrie, go to your preferences and change your password, then log out. Log out each time you leave DG and you'll have to log back in. :)

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

I'm going to remember to log out each time???? I'd rather it be set for me to just remember my password and log in! check out what I said about tomatoes.

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

Mercy mee...what w/my accent spelling in many of my posts dave might hafta ship in some more underlines. I'm liable to use 'em all up!

Thanks for another fine feature, dave!

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

stl mor werkin 4me!!!!

Azalea,

I checked the logs and you are not previewing your posts like Terry said. It doesn't work until you preview.

Dave

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Azalea, if you are using Internet explorer it will not work for you. But you can use ieSpell instead.

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

In addition to using the preview, remember is a spell CHECKER, not a spell CORRECTOR - it will tell you which words are not spelled correctly, but it won't provide suggestions or automatically change the misspelled words.

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Terry, it does give suggestions if you hover over the underlined word. But it is still up to you to make the changes.

montgomery, AL(Zone 7b)

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

It does not work in some versions of IE, Azalea. Try this if you want to use IE: http://www.iespell.com/

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

Thanks - I will check with DH before I download it tho.

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Show him this if he's unsure: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=2476 The majorgeeks site is good about their reviews.

Lewisville, MN(Zone 4a)

Not working here either.

Manhattan Beach, CA(Zone 11)

I dont noh hou to shpell nuttn rong.

Edited to say: Yoh, Dave, while you're at it, could you go the whole route and have it work in IE and give the correct spelling?

Cambria, CA(Zone 10a)

I've used it several times today and love the addition, thanks Dave. I don't like becoming dependent on spell checkers but they're sure nice for those dyslexic days.

Ulrich if IE can't handle a simply abbr tag, then I don't know what to do. Mouseover to see the suggested fixes, like gardenwife said.

dave

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

It didn't work in IE 6, Dave - no underline or tag to view. IE folks can always use IEspell, a free and spyware-free download at http://iespell.com

Barnesville, GA(Zone 8a)

And for anyone using AOL, we have the dictionary under "edit" with a spell check. I use mine when unsure.

Princeton, IL(Zone 5a)

I don't know what you did, Dave, but you are wonderful! My spell checker started working today, and the wrong words are red! Very cool!

LimeyLisa Kay

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

testing tasting ning ning

Very cool! Underlined AND in red AND correct words/spelling suggestions offered.

Works like a charm here, dave!

I love the new red & underline. Thanks!

(Zone 5a)

Since my internet connections were not receving a signal due to one of my neighbor stealing cable by connecting to my outside wires, I didn't find out about this until the other night and wanted to say thanks.

Cool -- I never noticed before and I usually try to preview first! Thanks Guys!

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

Wow, now it's working - goodie!!! the whole word is done in red- not just underlined, (which didn't work for meeeeeeee)!
