They do like shade. Mine were against the house, under a large overhang so I had to water them daily when it got hot. They were shaded by noon-1 pm for the rest of the day. I added miracle grow not very often - maybe every 2 weeks. They were planted about a foot apart, in 2 staggered rows and ended up being about a 2 ft. high mound from the siding, down to the ground, out of the bed. Very pretty! A few times they wilted and I quickly watered them but I think that's better than overwatering because they have very fleshy stems. That's about all I know. :) p.s.They nice thing about them is no dead-heading, they do it themselves!
shade flowers?
Kooger, the spot you planted yours sounds identical to the spot I planted mine. I will keep what you said in mind. Thanks! :)
I was just reading this thread again. Ha Ha
PotEmUp you are so funny, that answer to what came first seed or flower. Good. Donna
With Valentines Day comming soon,
hows this for some trivia?
Romans believed that white roses
grew where tears fell as Venus
cried over the loss of Adonis.
Her son Cupid, stung by a bee,
shot a arrow in the rose garden.
The sting from the arrows became
thorns. Venus pricked her foot on a
thorn, and the droplets of blood
dyed the roses red....
believe it OR not
