We are glad you are here too ArkieGAL. Hope you will be here often.
"Spike" the circular idiot!
welcome to DG Arkiegal----------Im only about 20 minutes down the road from you, I live near Tyronza, but kinna out in the sticks. Lots to learn here, stick around and be entertained. cheryl
Brugie - Thanks! I'll be hanging out here, my only two Brug cuttings did not survive the wind and rain that ripped the back side of my greenhouse off during one of our storms! So..... I'll be looking for some cuttings this spring! Plus, I really enjoy the pics you guys are posting! Some of these brugs are sooooooo gorgeous!
Playsndirt - I come thru your neck of the woods quite often on my way to Memphis. In fact Tyronza is where I "have to slow down"! LOL Did you happen to get cast in the movie filmed there not too long ago?
Wow! I feel I must take back what I said about the Plumeria Forum over at GW. I hadn't visited in a while, but I've been visiting that forum over the past few weeks, and I've never seen so many petty disputes and arguing. I'm surprised that Spike allows it to continue thread after thread. Some of the grievances may be legitimate, but it makes me very uncomfortable reading all of the bickering. I have been visiting GW less and less these days and will probably phase it out all together. I was particularly unhappy when someone from that forum kept insisting that I visit a nearby nursery to buy him a purple (lavender) plumeria. I told him that I would certainly get one for him if I went but that I had no plans to go in the near future as the nursery was well over an hour away. Man! He became very insistent. There's obsession and there's neurosis, and I think there is more of the latter over there than the former! Perhaps I'm not one to talk...

Gee Clare, a purple plumeria? Could you buy me a few also??
Yeah Clare, for a purple plumie I could get obsessive. ;>)
LOL, you guys. Actually, it was a lavender plumie, and I finally called the owner of the nursery to see if he had it for sale, and he said he didn't have it so I was off the hook.
Well not with me you are not!! I need one. I want one. I must have one! NOW!!!
ROFLMAO! Forget about it! Put it out of your head and forget I ever mentioned it!
Well Clare, I really think you could at least go over to that nursery and check in person. You know how it is when you call, they never even check, they just say they do not have it.
After I read your post I already told my 2 best friends that I was getting them these for Christmas. So you need to go tomorrow early and send it to them Next Day Air. I will email you their addresses.
Since you have been wasting so much time by not going to look yet, I think it is only fair that you pay for the added expense of the Next Day Air charge. I think that is the least you can do, being that it is the Christmas season and all and you have let me down so far.
Also Clare, I always wrap my Christmas gifts in fancy gold foil with a pretty pattern and huge gold bows. Please make sure you keep up my tradition when you wrap these purple plumeria. And do not be cheap when you get the wrapping.
I am sure you can use it also so I won't bother to reimburse you for it. In fact I am sure it will be an improvement on the wrap you are using now. But in the spirit of Christmas, I will not charge you extra for my decorating advice this time!
No need to thank me now, just get a move on. You can thank me when you are done.
he rules the roost so he does what he wants his sponcers would darn sure not like it one bit, yes i got booted to!!!!!! he is a pain and he is prejudice to.. he is right even when he is wrong!!!! he a tyrant. its his way or the hiway ....... i still get peeved over it to. he has his little groups there.... there also some very sweet helpful kind ones to....
ROFLMAO here too! Kell, does this ever work for you??
Hey Clare, I was just somewhere else reading that you are thinking of leaving the sunny SoCal climes and thinking of Colorado.
Kell, forget the pink crown, you deserve one much better:
"comedian of the year crown"
Hey, Liz. Yes, I may be Colorado bound in a few years when my husband retires, but Colorado is just one option we're looking at. Nevado and Arizona are also two distinct possibilities.
Do you think "he" is actually a "she". I get that impression sometimes.
hope43: You too?
Mobi
Kell...your posts always brighten up my day...decorating advice, indeed...LOL
Gosh, it is good to get up to Daves in the mornings and have a good laugh. Clare, if you guys are going to move to Colorado, you might re-think and move to Iowa. We are only about 20-30 degrees colder in the winter and 20 degrees hotter in the summer. It's a wonderful place to live if you can handle freezing and sweating. LOL!!
awww now... Colorado isnt so bad, if you can find a nice place where there arent alot of people, traffic noise, pollution, where they allow more than 2 animals in your house, sirens at all hours, rush hour (who are we kidding rush everyday ALL day).
BUT we do have the mountains, when you can see them thru the brown cloud, but they are nice to get into, if you can fight your way thru the traffic, and road closures. But then when you are FINALLY there in those beautiful Rocky Mountains... well, you fight more traffic, you cant find a spot to camp, because all the spots are taken, so you decide to stay at a hotel/motel/cabin... good idea! 150.00 a night because you are in the "Rocky Mountains". You are totally exausted at this point, and dont care, because its 1 in the morning.
Ya run potty before you snuggle into a twin sized bed, (where you have NO CHOICE but to snuggle with your better half, because apparently a larger person has slept right in the middle of the bed) and theres a pile of snow in the corner of your "rustic" room, where somthing has eaten a hole to get into your beautiful, hard/rotting wood floored hotel/motel/cabin.
But back in the bathroom of this deluxe 1 star hotel/motel/cabin, a snake crawls out from the toilet. (personal experience)
Crying because of all the above... you make your way to your car, thumping a large stick as you walk, totally out of breath because THERE IS NO AIR, go to the nearest gas station, pay 1.81 per gallon of gas,(because you are in the "Rocky Mountains") fill up your car, and sleep there, because you have a heater, and doors that lock.
Then the next day, you get to fight your way back home. :o)
Come on to Colorado Clare! We'd LOVE to have ya!
ROTF Shelley. Just makes me want to pack up and go! The joys of roughing it. LOL Gotta say, if a snake came out of the toilet, hubby would be living in the car!!
Gee Shelly, I may have to show this thread to my son. He was just offered an incredible job in Denver when he graduates in June. He is actually thinking of leaving home and ME!!!
Hey Clare, have you reconsidered getting me those purple plumeria yet? There is still time!
All right, everybody in unision.
M I C K E Y M O U S E
Shelly, I guess everything is relative. Have you been to Los Angeles? $1.81 is about average here for a tank of gas, but we wouldn't move to a major city like Denver. I think my husband was looking at an area outside Loveland or Fort Collins or some area about 30-45 minutes outside a major city.
Kell, email me, and I'll give you the name of the nursery in Los Angeles, and you can get it yourself; but, as I said before, it's a lavender plumie!
I have Clare.. I guess after 29 years in the city, Im just ready for somthing a bit more peaceful.
Loveland and Ft Collins are beautiful, still too busy for me tho (JMHO). You will love wherever you decide, Colorado or not.
OK Clare, I called and they have some left!! There is only one thing left for me to do since you have been uncooperative, I will be landing at 6PM. Please pick me up at the United baggage claim. I have a bad back so you will need to carry my luggage. What are we having for Christmas dinner? I prefer roast beef, medium rare.
And if you are thinking of moving before I get there, forget about it! You can run but you can't hide!! LOL
I needed a giggle kell....
and did I mention purple is my favorite color?
Poor Clare! LOL, thanks for the laughs!
You guys are so silly!
Kell, you wait right there at the baggage claim for me! I'll be right there just as sure as there is a blue plumeria! What's for Christmas dinner? Why, crow, of course! LOL!
Merry Christmas!
Ya'll need to start a "happily banned by spike" or "happily banned by gardenweb" web ring and have an official banner. Wouldn't that be a hoot?
Now, that could be really funny. LOL!!
I laugh everytime I see or read this thread!!! :)
My, my, Miz Kimberly, you should visit us more often here!
Have you scoped out any special brug beauties here yet?
Do remember to check out Whiskers :)
Well, I have a membership at that Garden Web that I never use because it just doesn't offer what Dave's does. I got both at the same time, and let me tell ya, DAVE's ROCKS! There is absolutely no comparison! :)
the official letter you get or i did booted to disney signed by Rosa, his name is spike Hernandez so assume a man yeah right real man. sends you to disney!!! Disney maybe could sue him!! Hey that is thought for Disney!!! this is much much better site people.. but.. well.. be somone to get tiffed now then..
What's with this "send you to Disney"? Explain! LOL
Anna, if you get out of line(his decision) on his site and if you get booted for a three month period of time, we just call it sending you to Disney, like a vacation away from the circular idiot.....................
i think we all are better here. i was booted to disney for posting a picture from here last year. then got into a big pow wow with spike due to i paid my membership. . i never got the money back . i was furiousd for a long time but i am here now and plan to stay.
maybe we should let disney know he is doing this.
Instead of dealing with any problem that arises, Spike's idea to deal with it, is.... block them.. He doesn't want or have the time to deal with real people, only with what increases his volumne in hits. Several are still leaving. He blocks your machine alright, but then, he sends out renewal membership reminders (as in my case) three e-mails within a 60 day period, two of the e-mails were before my membership expired. In December, January, and again in Feb. So, I don't understand a company like his, very busy, very disorganized and very confused.
