One last picture from me. This is my angel bear that my oldest daughter made for me a few years ago. She is a dusty little girl because I never put her away. I almost forgot why I posted here...I just wanted to thank everyone for sharing their Christmas. I've really enjoyed seeing this thread with all the beautiful pictures. Merry Christmas to you all.

Come visit and I will show you in person how to make the birds. It would be difficult to tell you how. Darius, next time you come, I'll show you how, then maybe between the two of us, we can write up instructions.
After the holidays I can try to take pictures while making one.
I have looked on goggle. Found origami birds, but none like this. Maybe someone will have better luck.

Barnesville, GA(Zone 8a)

Wonderful job everyone! Sure wish everyone had taken part here, tho...

If you need a skinny piece, here's another Santa--but do make sure everyone else is in first :)

Liz, could you have Darius or someone else with a camera look over your shoulder and take pictures of the various steps? Taken pictures from that perspective would be really helpful since those viewing the pictures would have your perspective and not have to figure out left and right.

That is a good idea gardenwife. I remember my friend that taught me how to crochet was left handed. and it does make it more difficult,
On another thread, yardbird said she found the pattern. Hope she will let us know where.

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

gw... I'll be glad to work with lizh to get both photos and written instructions the next time I go up there. (May not be until after the snow season, though.)

Wow, how'd I miss this quilt idea??? Well here are mine, I made these flowers from wired ribbon quite a few years ago, don't ask me how as sewing never was my area of expertise, but they came out pretty good.
All the ideas above are wonderful, what a quilt!

Bookmarked that one yardbird, thanks so much. Something to fill the long hours of winter with color...lots of color.

Thanks yardbard. That is just how I make them.

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Wow...They make it look so easy! Well, ribbon's cheap and there are so many neat things you could do with color. They'd be so pretty on a wedding table, done in white.

Thanks so much for the link yardbird, this is a project that could work all year long. Spring birds, summer birds, fall birds......lotsa birds.

I think I might add some of these to my "odd" tree when it turns into an Easter egg tree this spring.
