Grand Blanc, MI(Zone 5b)

I am new to this, and just beginning to get up the courage to post. At present we have 2 dogs: Daisy May, who came from a very, very rough neighborhood in Flint, MI. She had the impossible job of healing our hearts after we had to have our much loved, 12 year old dog put to sleep. Even the vet won't guess about her family. He said he "sees": German Shepard coloring, she herds us around the yard and while trying to walk; her feet are webbed like a lab, she uses her paws like a boxer, she's only 30 pounds and fast as lightning. She has adapted to being the pampered girl in our newly empty nest. Daisy is without a doubt the smartest dog we have ever had. She likes those stuffed, fleecy gingerbread men shaped, squeaky animals. Of course the first thing she does is pull out all the stuffing. She can tell the difference between: "Daisy, bring mom the fat man" and "Daisy, bring mom the flat man" Not bad for a little abandoned girl.

Still, with the kids all gone it was just too, too quiet so Gus came home with us. He came from the St. Bernard Rescue League. His mom was a full Saint but dad was just passing through. Looks to have been some sort of spaniel. Gus is the sweetest, gentlest guy on four feet. Daisy always looks slightly worried and Gus always looks slightly confused. She is 18 months and he is 5 months.

We also have Jaxx the Cat. The best $610 stray cat ever.

There is finally enough noise and chaos in the house to suit me--and now the kids are home for the summer. It is wonderful. Who needs clean and quiet?

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

REALLY boring list here... 2 Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Lab mix sisters, Thelma and Louise and brother and sister black cats, Spooker and Boo...identical colorings. Then there are the resident geckos, lizards, cockroaches...OH, right - my favorite, Bob (DH). We HAD chickens but they pooped on the porch and didn't lay eggs so we gave them to the Hawaiian Imersion School where they live in the bush and provide school lunches.

A few mealies are trying to ingratiate themselves but I won't be swayed!!!
