LOL
Vote for the 2003 Photo Contest!
LOL you could be right...just positive thinking I guess LOL
Ulrich you are a pedant. :) I'll fix the wording.
If enough people vote a bird as the best bee, then the bird will win best bee. But, if that happens, the members can blame themselves. :)
Dave
"If enough people vote a bird as the best bee, then the bird will win best bee". I think it happened in Florida one time.
JUST KIDDING

Now, wait...Hoverflies vs. bees could be an issue. Evil grin...
All is fine here:-)
Oh, yeah, baby, this is the way to do it!!!
etexbill, especially us old folks and minorities (~:
JUST KIDDING, too
Another dumb question: Can I vote on a few within a category, register those votes, and continue the next day? Or does registering close out that category?
Ulrich,
The system remembers your votes. So you canvote for some of them today, come back tomorrow and those that you votes for are automatically checked off for you.
Dave
The way that mine is set up I can only check one box for each category. There is no "yes" or "no" box. If I wanted to, I could vote numerous times for the same thing. The system is not locking me out after I register my vote... That does not seem right -- I would think that each member should have the ability to vote one time in each category and sub-category. Thanks for clarification if I'm incorrect :)
Works fine to me:)
Great thing, I am glad that I could vote.
Kaufmann,
No matter how many times you submit that page, you will only get one vote. Each time you submit the page, it removed your old votes and puts in the new ones. So you can change your mind, but you cannot give multiple votes.
Hope that helps!
Dave
Isn't this NIFTY!! I love it!
Kaufmann, do you mean that you are able to vote for six different pictures as "best bloom" in the morning glory contest, for instance? I think it's supposed to be that way. I, for one, am glad it is. There's just NO way I could pick ONE picture only for each "best" category. There are just too many. Once voting is closed, I'm sure that some of them will come up with more votes than the rest and a winner will be assured.
I was a judge last year for the container contest and it was HARD to pick just one in each category. I like this setup MUCH better.
Very clever Dave, no cheating allowed LOL
;)
Thanks, Dave.
You have certainly outdone yourself with this one!
Dave:
Thank you for the clarification! That's a great way to set it up! Gretchen
I just spent more than an hour trying to vote in the Brugmansias . Don't think I did it right even then. Several times when i checked the X to close to go back to small picture would send me back to begining, so i don't think all my votes registered, or maybe I voted more than once for some. Anyway i tried. Donna
Well I finally got the chance to vote and believe me I have a lot of respect for the judges of last years winners, you surely had your work cut out for you.
There were so many beautiful photos that it was hard to decided.
GOOD LUCK to everyone who entered the contest.
I think I was blessed by voting without first reading this thread - or else I would have been lost. While I didn't have a yes/no choice - just a box in which to put a check, I considered a check to be a yes ........and went down each list checking however many of the entries were on top IMHO. Once I got to the bottom, I clicked the submit vote and presume that happened. If it didn't, my ignorance is bliss(ful).
What a task to put all this together - and thank you for giving us the opportunity to vote. It is amazing - the entire experience!!!!!
Thanks - Vicki

I updated the wording on the contest just now (better late than never!) :)
dave
When will the winners be posted? Just want to make sure I don't miss it.
We have all of November for voting, and then December 1st I will tally the votes and announce the winners shortly thereafter!
I confess that I have sneaked a peak to see how the vote is going, and WOW the members really are picking out the very best. It's amazing how when everyone collaborates in this, truly the most deserving pictures are being selected. I can't wait until December 1st so I can see the winners!
Dave
HEY !!! No fair peeking =)
§
I had to make sure that the voting was working correctly. ;-)
Dave
LOL @ scooter & dave
Dave you should give me a peek just to make sure that you didn't miss anything while you were checking.
I am willing to help out in anyway I can in this over whelming task, but only to make your task easier. Not that I would do it because I'm nosey but just lending a helping eye..I mean hand :)
:-)
I'm so glad we could vote for more than one......there are so many I just couldn't choose between......so I voted for all the ones I like..........yeah, which was most of them.....
LOL.....Dee
My brain is beginning to fry (again?) trying to choose the best in all the catagories of the photo contest. The one with birds, butterflies, and bugs is too hard. So is the miscellaneous catagory.
Am I trying to do this too fast? Maybe a catagory a day is better. Or one a week.
Just so many great photographs; the results will be fun to see. So many of the pictures that don't win, should.
Edited for spelling.

When someone chooses to share their cherished pictures with us . . . well, I wish I could vote for everyone . .
There are good pictures that will not win but that doesn't diminish their value to all of us.
It's hard to choose in many cases! Now, I'm confused a little. If there's one category in a subject (like Roses, for instance), are we voting for multiples and the one with the most votes wins? The reason I ask is, I accidently left checkmarks in two other ones I liked when I submitted my vote. When I went back, my final choice and the other two were all still selected.
Yes, vote for as many as you like. In the end, I will count ALL votes and the top 3 are the winners. So, vote for each one for whom you would like to see win, even if that means voting for every single one.
Dave
Oh -- good! Whew!
Yaaaaaay! Dave . . . you are the greatest! ((hugs))
Just finished voting in all the catagories and Wheeew.... was it a chore......all those beautiful entries and you couldn't vote for them all......my goodness you folks really had some beautiful stuff........
Dee
I agree Dee, it shore were hard choosin the purddiest ones ('ceptin fer mine a-course). ;~)
TC...
I've been voting every few days when I have the time. I'm amazed at how truly great our DG photographers are!! I find myself calling my husband over going, "Look at this! Can you believe the composition of this photo." or "Wow they have really captured the colors in this one!". I especially have enjoys the Birds, Bugs and Butterflies category and the Landscapes. Brenda
Eagerly awaiting the results!!!!!
Hey, that's right - it's time! Can't wait to see!
