Fountain, FL(Zone 8a)

She is SOOOO cute!! Since she already loves the couch which makes her a couch potato...how about Tater. LOL

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Spuds? Tater Tot? Wee Willie Weiner Dog? Gee, I need more coffee.

Crossville, TN

They gave me a SPOILED baby dog!! I had to let her sleep with me last night, and if I leave the room she whines?!! Could she have gotten this spoiled in one day and night?? I Think not!! LOL Jo

Bowie, AZ(Zone 8B)

Jo,she is just adorable!!! About names I dont have a clue, some cute ones have been suggested. Now I will be thinking about this all day and until Wednesday!!
"Tater" is cute. "Miss Tater"? "Missy"?

Mableton, GA(Zone 7b)

I like Roxie. :)

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

Kujo? (Will do wonders for her ego!)

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

How about Frankie? short for frankfurter.....

Mableton, GA(Zone 7b)

Aaaaw, I like Frankie too. :)

Tonasket, WA(Zone 5a)

What a great birthday and present. My sister has a mostly dachshund, whose name happens to be Molly. I'm not good at thinking up names. I named my three small ones, Chickadee, Goldfinch, and my presnt one is Bluebird. Have a happy puppy. Is she accustomed to a carrier yet. Best to get her used to it while small. My blue didn't mind one, but rarely is it used now. Donna

Woodburn, OR(Zone 8a)

What a sweet baby!!!

Mount Prospect, IL(Zone 5a)

JO! You know Maxines' dog is named Floyd! You will just have to use that or find a way to feminize it!

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

Florine? Florida? Florence? or just Flo? However, I still like Frankie

Harford County, MD(Zone 6b)

Jo, I think Shelly is cute. Now, if it was a boy you could call it Digger, since they like to dig so much. My Oscar once gug a hole so deep all you could see was the tip of his tail.
I once read a book where a man rescued a racoon from a trap and it lost it's leg. He called it "Tripod". I said if I ever had a dog with only three legs, that's what I'd call it.

Midway, WV

How 'bout Doxie? or maybe Iwanner...lol..

lagrange, GA(Zone 7a)

Jo I swear it looks like the same puppy that I bought for 2 of my gransdkids last Sunday. It was a brintle. I have two datchuns. One a wild boar and one a double dauple. They are such loving dogs and I know you will love it. Now for a name. The grandkids hadn't named it when they left here and we have talked to them a couple times this week. I'm going to call and find out what they named it. I'll be back. I do like the brown sugar however.

Alfred, ON(Zone 4b)

Jo happy Birthday,
what a adorable puppy, she looks like a Tascha or Zara.

good luck choosing a name. and have tons of fun with your little darling.

Carmen

Silver Lake, OH(Zone 5b)

Her pic made me laugh out loud. Then I thought, 'Lily'

lagrange, GA(Zone 7a)

Well the grandkids named it after Bobbie. Her middle name Lou. They named it Lulu. I like the name Slick.

Crossville, TN

Not LilY....Badseed is raising one of my precious "Lillies". Jo

Crossville, TN

Jim....My DD has a Brindle Dachshund....her name is Raisin. The black and grey spots on her look like a dried Raisin...sorta powdery. When my son first saw her he asked "Did someone spill bleach on this dog?".

I had a deep red one ...she was 13 years old...I still miss her...named Heidi. Post pictures of you DGS' puppies. you can use my thread...what's a thread amoung family...LOL Jo

Silver Lake, OH(Zone 5b)

sorry Jo.... oops!

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Jo, a friend just told me that the most common name for female dogs is "Molly" and for males, it's "Bear"... at least that was true 2 years ago when she read the study.

Crossville, TN

Thanks, Darius....but since mine is so UNcommonly beutiful I think Molly is out.....LOL However...next door neighbor has a BearII...it looks like a bear also...a Bovier (sp) ...??? Jo

Shalimar, FL(Zone 8a)

What a cutie! A puppy! Oh, what fun! (and work! :} I like Honey! But Doxie or Roxy are cute too! So are Elsie and Frankie. And Happy Birthday! Jen

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

LOL Jo! Thank you for not naming your doggie after my child! No harm done Janie. :) Hey, my sister does have a girl dog named Molly and my stepmonster had a boy dog named Bear. That is funny. Our huskies were named after Absolut Vodka-Citron and Peppar, hey I was a bar tender when we got them and that was my drink of choice. Maybe you could name them after wine or tea. giggle

Villa Rica, GA(Zone 7a)

Hey now Jo, Should I be offended here?? LOL just kiddin!

LOL at people with dogs named Molly! Even my sister let her kids name their dog Molly! The next door neighbor to my Mother has a cat name Molly!

We use to have a small mix breed dog named "Freeway" because she was black as asphalt. She then had 2 solid white puppies and we named them salt shaker and Sidewalk.
Even though they were silly off the wall names the dogs knew what their names were and came everytime they were called LOL

Mableton, GA(Zone 7b)

I think you should name her Rice! *ducks*

Benton, KY(Zone 7a)

Our neighbor's Daschund is named Molly 2...there was a Molly 1 also.

lagrange, GA(Zone 7a)

Hey Jo, She looks like a toots to me. You can't tell about me and dogs names. Our male that we got mostly for Jamie is named Roofuss Howl. When he was real little he would take his nose and root everything around and he would fuss at you when you talked to him and at night he would howl thus getting his name. We call him Rufus. Nobody likes his name except me. Bobbie

Jones Creek, TX(Zone 9a)

She is just adorable........such an intense Blue Black color..How about "Ebony"....that might fit her.... Shes soooo cute............HB to you..... :o)

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

(Eco...that was a mighty good piece of duckin' ya did there! You're quick!) :>)

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

How 'bout Dixie?? Sort of a take on SoCal and MaryK's Doxie suggestion.

Arnett, WV(Zone 5b)

She is a sweetie! How about patti- cake, peppermint- patti, or Tootsie as in tootsie roll?

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

What about Maxine? You could call her Maxi, which would be funny considering her diminutive stature. ;)

I love the name Raisin, too!

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

I have my little poodle named Whitney (after Whitney Houston because she is black and beautiful). Have had or loved Satin, Tess, Kisty, Jezz, Dora, Tillie, Lisl, Rosie, Sara, BB (for Busybody), Katie, Treasure, Dandy, Bertha, Sue, Suede, Teak, Fancy, Babe, Rags, Bliss, and Becca. These names are from memory of my show dogs and ones I trained and bought over the years.

I do like Tater though now that I am in Idaho. lol

lagrange, GA(Zone 7a)

Toosie is my favorite as of right now. I'm just trying to help cuz with all these hard decisions.

Crossville, TN

Some good names there....Grandson wanted Daisey.....as in Daisey Duke.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

I don't know about a name, but she looks like a little princess sitting on her plush throne! What a cutie! How could you do anything but spoil her rotten?

Midway, WV

Muffin....? Flutale ? Tiff "tiffany'?lol..
