Help me name my Birthday Surprise!!!

What a great birthday and present. My sister has a mostly dachshund, whose name happens to be Molly. I'm not good at thinking up names. I named my three small ones, Chickadee, Goldfinch, and my presnt one is Bluebird. Have a happy puppy. Is she accustomed to a carrier yet. Best to get her used to it while small. My blue didn't mind one, but rarely is it used now. Donna

Jo, I think Shelly is cute. Now, if it was a boy you could call it Digger, since they like to dig so much. My Oscar once gug a hole so deep all you could see was the tip of his tail.
I once read a book where a man rescued a racoon from a trap and it lost it's leg. He called it "Tripod". I said if I ever had a dog with only three legs,that's what I'd call it.

Jo I swear it looks like the same puppy that I bought for 2 of my gransdkids last Sunday. It was a brintle. I have two datchuns. One a wild boar and one a double dauple. They are such loving dogs and I know you will love it. Now for a name. The grandkids hadn't named it when they left here and we have talked to them a couple times this week. I'm going to call and find out what they named it. I'll be back. I do like the brown sugar however.

Well the grandkids named it after Bobbie. Her middle name Lou. They named it Lulu. I like the name Slick.

Jim....My DD has a Brindle Dachshund....her name is Raisin. The black and grey spots on her look like a dried Raisin...sorta powdery. When my son first saw her he asked "Did someone spill bleach on this dog?".

I had a deep red one ...she was 13 years old...I still miss her...named Heidi. Post pictures of you DGS' puppies. you can use my thread...what's a thread amoung family...LOL Jo

Jo, a friend just told me that the most common name for female dogs is "Molly" and for males, it's "Bear"... at least that was true 2 years ago when she read the study.

Our huskies were named after Absolut Vodka-Citron and Peppar, hey I was a bar tender when we got them and that was my drink of choice. Maybe you could name them after wine or tea. giggle

LOL at people with dogs named Molly! Even my sister let her kids name their dog Molly! The next door neighbor to my Mother has a cat name Molly!

We use to have a small mix breed dog named "Freeway" because she was black as asphalt. She then had 2 solid white puppies and we named them salt shaker and Sidewalk.
Even though they were silly off the wall names the dogs knew what their names were and came everytime they were called LOL

I think you should name her Rice! *ducks*

Our neighbor's Daschund is named Molly 2...there was a Molly 1 also.

Hey Jo, She looks like a toots to me. You can't tell about me and dogs names. Our male that we got mostly for Jamie is named Roofuss Howl. When he was real little he would take his nose and root everything around and he would fuss at you when you talked to him and at night he would howl thus getting his name. We call him Rufus. Nobody likes his name except me. Bobbie

I have my little poodle named Whitney (after Whitney Houston because she is black and beautiful). Have had or loved Satin, Tess, Kisty, Jezz, Dora, Tillie, Lisl, Rosie, Sara, BB (for Busybody), Katie, Treasure, Dandy, Bertha, Sue, Suede, Teak, Fancy, Babe, Rags, Bliss, and Becca. These names are from memory of my show dogs and ones I trained and bought over the years.

I do like Tater though now that I am in Idaho. lol

Toosie is my favorite as of right now. I'm just trying to help cuz with all these hard decisions.
