It's that time again - contests!

Nobody has asked for a rose contest.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Well then, is anyone else interested in having a rose contest?

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Could the butterfly one be butterflies and moths, please?

Castelnau RB Pyrenée, France(Zone 8a)

Or just all insects??
Or a separate one for insects - we see so many interesting and lovely ones in the forums

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Good point, Psilo!

Newark, OH(Zone 5a)

I would like to see a rose one as I know there are tons of beautiful rose pictures floating around DG :)

Castelnau RB Pyrenée, France(Zone 8a)

I agree flowox

ahem it's me not psilo gw LOL :)

Mercer, PA(Zone 5a)

I agree, why not the "Four B's"; bugs, birds, butterflies, and bees!

Western, PA(Zone 6a)

Just let us know when the list is complete, so we know what to photograph.

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

I would love to see a rose contest.

Mercer, PA(Zone 5a)

Hey all you lucky rose growers, I didn't get a chance to take any fotos of my roses before the Japanese beetles ate them! :-(

Middle, TN(Zone 6b)

Tc, the Japanese beetles are gone now in Nashville. They were worse this year that I can ever remember. You should be able to expect them to go away soon.

Roses are added! Anything else?

Castelnau RB Pyrenée, France(Zone 8a)

Bugs Birds Butterflies and Bees - as tcfromky suggested?

Helsinki, Finland(Zone 4b)

Lilies?

Nobody asked for lilies. Do we want a lilies contest? Give me at least 3 members saying "yes".

dave

philomel, thanks. BBBB is added. :)

Bolton, Greater Manc, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

Dave where it says best butterfly picture can you add insect photos into there too ?

Newark, OH(Zone 5a)

The BBB only has Best Butterfly under category and the BBBB have no categories. We have 2 to post butterflies in? I'm a bit confused now.......LOL

Mcallen, TX(Zone 8a)

yes to lilies

Wait a minute, I'm confused, too (and I'm the one setting the contests up!!)

BBBB has been removed and BBB was edited to be BBBB (Now, that clears things up!! LOL)

We should be all set now.

Dave

Newark, OH(Zone 5a)

ROTFL
thanks for fixing it Dave ;)

Dave, just some suggestions for categories in the BBBB
how about:

Best close-up
Most unusual bug
Best Bird (or most colorful?)

just throwing some ideas out........

yes on lilies pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease! i've taken a few not to shabby shots. of course now i got to get out there and practice some more on the orientals that are just blooming.

Bolton, Greater Manc, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

How about the ugliest slug? now that I can do!! :))

Okay, I'll add lilies.

dave

Newark, OH(Zone 5a)

Is there anyone who would like a houseplant category?

Manhattan Beach, CA(Zone 11)

Lilies yes, Daylilies NO. If I see one more daylily I'll scream!

Villa Rica, GA(Zone 7a)

But some consider a daylily to be a lily. The only one I have that isn't a daylilie is a startgazer...my daylilies out number them!

We can make a category in Lilies for "Best Daylily".

Dave

Barnesville, GA(Zone 8a)

Poor Dave, a brave man, he!

Hobart, IN(Zone 5a)

I have been in lurkdom and am crawling out from under my rock. This sounds like a lot of fun and I'm going to dig through my photos to see what I have that is worth entering.

I would love to see a "Pets in the garden" section, is that possible?

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Oh, I second that!

Mercer, PA(Zone 5a)

How 'bout a "See How Many Contest Categories DG Members Can Think Of" category?! ;~)

Barnesville, GA(Zone 8a)

ROTFLOL ;D

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

What fun this is going to be!

Castelnau RB Pyrenée, France(Zone 8a)

It seems that there is still only a Butterfly category within BBBB - so only one kind of B to enter, despite the name????

Bolton, Greater Manc, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

Do memebers only get one vote per catergory? otherwise what is to stop them voting over and over again for particular ones?

One vote per contest. Don't worry about cheaters - my system will prevent anyone from casting more than one vote.

Dave

Mercer, PA(Zone 5a)

philomel; I'm guessin that since the "Butterflies" is plural, it would appear to me to mean that it would include related insects, moths...etc.

Mcallen, TX(Zone 8a)

I support Flowox on the houseplants.

I had thought about babies.

Heck, if we come up with enough categories, EVERYONE will be a winner!

Howzabout this one: "best pciture DESPITE a crummy camera"?

That is about the only way I could even be considered. LOL
