O Badseed I am sooo happy for you! What a wonderful thing to happen, couldn't have happened to a better person. I've seen pics of your girls and I must say they are beautiful!! I'd be wanting a girl too hee hee that much less ya have to buy for! Everytime I hear about someone expecting a baby I wish I had not been "fixed" LOL As I think now I would love to have another one. We tried 3 times to have a girl...but it never happened! Girls have got to be easier!
Congrats Sweetie and Many Hugs!!

roadrunner; I was just lookin at that thread just before you posted your last message and saw that cute little "steller feller"!! He ain't wearin girly clothes tho, I thought he might have a foto or two of him in one of them outfits!

Cave Spring, GA(Zone 7a)

Another girl would be nice, but a little boy can wrap himself around your heart too. If it's a little boy I'll send you some blue. My niece just had a little boy, and he'll outgrow some of his clothes by then. Linda

A big congrats - another "badseed" in the making LOL!

Jesteburg-Wiedenhof, Germany(Zone 8a)

And here was me thinking that you were a shy and unassuming young lady ... lol

Well that makes it at least SIX times when you weren't so shy :-D

Millions of congratulations from here too Chele, and all the best.

shoe; as cute as you were in that old foto, I bet you've only improved with age! :>)

badseed; we have two young-uns, a boy 10 and a girl 8. If I remember correctly there was a hint we got about bein able to tell if it were a boy or a girl before the actual birth. You've probably heard of this and if I have it backwards, let me know. Anywhoo...
I think it went something like; if expectant mother is "carrying" low, chances are good it'll be a boy. If "carrying" high, a girl is more likely.

What say you?

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

I think there's something to that theory. I had my two girls first and I carried them so high I could hardly breath. My son I carried so low that I thought he was gonna fall out.

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

Hmmm, my first was a boy, and I think I deformed my young ribs from carrying him so high. He just sort of seemed to wrap around everything inside and wasn't "out there". At seven months, I was still wearing my regular shorts and pedal pushers, just leaving the top button unfastened. The next was a boy, less than 11 months later, and was also carried high. Third, same story. Then number four, a girl, was all out front, and from about five months on, she was lower than the others. Number five, everywhere, and larger by far. Number six, I'll be finished here soon, was the tiniest one, just a little ball in front until six months, when complications made for a lot of edema and sudden weight gain all over. Number seven, good grief, a boy, largest baby, carried way out front and was high, low, everywhere. I thought I knew about how to tell until I finished having mine and realized those old wives tales were not consistent in any way for me.

The other women in my family get huge early, and no one can tell where the baby is underneath it all.

Crossville, TN

Well, you can always revert to the "swinging needle" system....if I could just remember how it went......*hmmm...if the needle held over the pregnant womans belly swings clockwise it will be a boy...counter clock-wise...a girl....or is that the other way around???

LOL Jo

Mercer, PA(Zone 5a)

roadrunner; I've heard of that one too, but don't remember which direction meant which sex either!
Wasn't there also an old wives tail about usin a spoon, or some kind of kitchen implement to predict the sex?

Villa Rica, GA(Zone 7a)

ring and tummy” theory: Hang your wedding ring (assuming you can get it off!) from a strand of the father’s hair over your belly. If the ring swings in a circle you will have girl, and if it swings back and forth you will have a boy.

If morning sickness has turned into all day sickness for you, you’re probably having a daughter according to an old superstition that says the more ill you are, the more likely you are to be carrying a girl.

Alot of fun reading here!

tc, I think the spoon predicts the wealth! lol

Everson, WA(Zone 8a)

How old is that ring and tummy theory? For most of the twentieth century men's hair was way too short to suspend a ring from. Since the 60' and 70's things have changed. LOL

Mercer, PA(Zone 5a)

MOLLYBEE; never heard of the "ring and tummy" one or the mornin sickness one before now. I'm thinkin there's probably one related to something about the expectant daddy too!

weeds; Oh, you mean the sayin "born with a silver spoon in their mouth"?

Villa Rica, GA(Zone 7a)

Yea all those are fairly new to me, so there is no telling how old they are LOL

Now about the morning sickness...I have always been told that if you crawl over your hubby on your way to the bathroom in the morning, that he will get the sickness! No one ever believes me but with my first son I done this not thinking and not really knowing of this wives tale....and he got sick and every morning he felt sick to his stomach for about 2 weeks! No lie!! I was told much later about the tale. At first we couldn't figure out why he was so sick every morning when I had only been sick the first morning(found out later that same day I was pg) Then we put 2 and 2 together and figured it had to be true!

Mercer, PA(Zone 5a)

MB; well say no more! That's somethin! But I reckon y'all put more than two and two together!! ;~)

Villa Rica, GA(Zone 7a)

You dawg! :P One would hope so anyway! LOL nuff said!

Panhandle, FL(Zone 8a)

Yes tc.

Crossville, TN

Another one: If you have a lot of heartburn (who doesn't?), then your baby will have lots of hair!

My DH had morning sickness with me. And I had a friend who's DH always got sick when she was PG....she knew she was expecting, but decided to wait until he came back from a weeks fishing trip to tell him. He came home and said "Darn it! Why didn't you tell me we were expecting? I have been sick all week!!" LOL Jo

New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

Roadrunner. Yes It did happened with me when I had lots of heartburn with my 1st DD. She came out and had full of hair!

With my 2nd. NO heartburn.. he came out very few hairs.

Now with this pregnant.. I just had once heartburn and did not have it again.. I guess he will have few hairs!

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Chele, I am so happy for you and your DH. Although I'm not surprised to hear this info, as you have mentioned on chat a few times that you would like to have another soon. I'm not pulling either way regarding the sex of the new seed, cause I know what ever you have will be another cutie... If it is a boy, can you see him with all that blonde hair and curls....ooooooh, would he be a cutie patooty for sure.

I sure hope you have another easy pregnancy.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

You know, I'd like to be mad here but I am laughing too darn hard! LOL LOL This post sort of took on a life of it's own so I was letting you all have your fun. giggle. I have been reading. :) Seriously, I have been working. Had two trucks again last night. Sigh. And we have had appliances dropping dead left and right. So I have been internet and store shopping for a stove and doing comparisons. We pretty well had it narrowed down and had the money sitting here so that means the air conditioner needed to croak. LOL We replaced the washer and dryer last week. Good grief! That only leaves the fridge and dish washer. LOL Hey, on a good note, by the time the baby gets here, our appliances should be good to go!
