Images Not Appearing

Beginning this evening at about 9:30 PM images were no longer appearing for me on this site.

Neither the thumbnails or the full size images are appearing in any thread.

I am not having this issue on any other site.

Any insights into the issue?

Likewise here, Adam. I'm sure Dave will have us all illustrated soon.

I am having the same problem. But it follows me to other sites. Daves is set as my home page in my browser. If I let it go to the home page no images and none on any other pages I go to after that. However if I open my browser and click on one of my links before DG comes up there is no problem. I have rebooted twice but no go.

Howie, I had the same problem. It's working now. I deleted all old files, did a system restore, nothing worked, then all of a sudden it was working right again after several restarts of the computer.
I noticed that if I left DG and went to Yahoo, no pics, but if I went to Yahoo first I could see their pictures. That was weird.

It's something strange going on...

I have never experienced the problems you describe above.
I rather think your buggy operating system and web browser are to blame. The cronic problems that I read about from those who use Windows are almost unbelievable. Rebooting all the time, crashes, inconsistent behavior... I can't fix those for you by "fixing" my own website.

I have this problem only when certain images fail to load. such as http://davesgarden.com/t/372421/ and http://davesgarden.com/t/378567/#new

if I try to view the last photos posted on these threads I lose all graphics until I reboot. I can then view everything again until I try to view these two photos.

I posted about this in Daves forumhttp://davesgarden.com/t/376569/ before but never got a response so I have just quit trying to follow the original thread. But it is happening again on another one (see second hyperlink last photo of invisable dog)

Once it happens here it affects all sites I visit until I reboot.

Same happening to me this morning.

I had to restart, showing now

I was looking at the data base new letter which was fine, but when I follow the links to the plants in the newsletter, in case I want more information, then I can't see the thumbs or the photos.

Me too, my computer works as usual until I come to my beloved DG, it looks fine until I go into a thread, then no pics or logo, here or at any other websites. It's not wanting to download pictures. If I reboot, the same thing repeats...weird!!

When I woke up this AM everything was working just fine.

Same problem here.

I was fine until I tried to see "Bismark" also.

I was viewing everything fine until I tried to see "First bird visit" in Wild Life. Now there are no pictures.

Everything is working perfect now for me, that is just my report, but I am not going to view bismark in case that is the thing that causes the problem.

I haven't visited that one yet, and it just did it again.

I don't know, friends. We talked about this a week or so ago and I concluded that since this problem only exhibits itself within Internet Explorer, it's a bug in that browser.

Although I absolutely do not doubt that this problem is very real for everyone, I cannot replicate this problem with my own browsers. I cannot work around this bug in their browser - it is completely out of my control.

The Shadow (Ulrich...) definitely does NOT know.

It certainly DOES only happen in IE...which is unfortunate. I can use Opera or Netscape without trouble when I AM having trouble with IE. Well poo :(

What it does is constantly say it's downloading the images...but of course they never do download. Oh well. Guess I'll just use Netscape when I have trouble...but I don't really wanna...lol

How does one switch between browsers?

You can go to Netscape on the web and download a free copy. If you have a dialup connection, I wouldn't recommend that (it'll take many moons to download completely). You might be able to get Netscape to mail you a CD for a small fee.

Wow...pretty weird. After reading this thread I had to try it. Went to Pets, clicked Bismark, it wouldn't load (and was very slow). After that went to Photos, nothing.

Just now emptied my Internet temp files, my History, re-booted, and now it works fine again. I use I-Explorer.

Me too, 'shoe. And when I leave here to go to any other site, the photos and logos at the other sites will not load either... I did find that doing a re-start works... John

I had to try it also and it says at the bottom, 4 items remaining downloading picture, so those pics won't download and stops all others.

This makes me very unhappy! I've never had problems with IE before...but I have had problems with netscape, so I deleted it all from my computer. Sounds like what Dave is saying is that if we want to view the DG website, we have to get rid of IE.

Carena, I actually switched to IE because of the many problems I was having with Netscape (some of them specific to DG). I don't suppose there's just one answer...the Internet has become so complex. :(

I just downloaded Netscape and it is working great. I pulled up IE and it worked for a few minutes and went back to the same old problem. Have to say that Netscape is much faster too. I'm keeping them both, but will use Netscape for Daves.

Everything has been fine for me all day, but when I went to the Bismark thread in the Pets Forum -- http://davesgarden.com/t/379124/ -- the same thing happened to me. No DG logo, no thumbnails showing. It says something like seven pictures are downloading, but it's just churning away. And now all graphics are gone from all pages I go to. It only happened after trying to view that thread, which someone else mentioned was a problem for them.

there may be a connection, I've been trying to look at the threads in Propagation "up in 5 days" and "first time from seed"
