Can the sides be rolled up?

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

There are no PLANTS in that GH!!!!

OC, CA & Twin Lakes , IA(Zone 4b)

Poppy, no rolling up the sides, just the front; is that the way yours was?

CC
Very observant; don't have anything to put in it yet; but if you look in the first pic posted by me you will see what is under the lights right now-some on the top shelf are ones that have just sprouted through and were placed under the lights yesterday. The ones on the bottom shelf are "one to a pot" that finally got their true leaves and were pricked out and potted up.

Nice thing about the mini greenhouse is that those shelves lift out; so if a plant gets too tall for the shelf distance - just lift the upper shelf out!
TLC

P.S. CC Wanna send me something to put in that lonely greenhouse LOL ;)

Middle, TN(Zone 6b)

Twin L C you are a hoot! Obsessed woman, huh? I love your set up, by the way. Now you guys are driving me crazy 'cause my two greenhouses are still in the back of the truck. I haven't a clue if I have the mysterious ties or not. Do I care? Probably not if it means I have to unpackage them now and try to find a place to keep them until I can start seeds!!!!

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

TLC ,I could send you something but it would be FROZEN before it got there......

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Maybe the ties on the back could be used to secure the unit to a fence or poles in windier areas?

Middle, TN(Zone 6b)

Zany, you may have hit the nail on the head!!! If that isn't what they are for, it is still a good thing to try.

OC, CA & Twin Lakes , IA(Zone 4b)

Ok Guys! Figured it out. Went back out there (took deep breath) (calmed down) . . . . .
If you roll the front flap and flip it over the top the ribbons on the flap match up with the ribbons on the back!

Took the two little ones purchased at Big Lots for $15 and made them into one tall one. So this one is stuck with a mini-skirt. Will break them down into two when they need to go outside. Right not it gives shelf space without taking up so much room.

Amazing what silly little things can make me deliriously happy! I'll quietly excuse myself to the kitchen . . .

One of life's many mysteries solved by your patience and sluthing in the cold garage. Hip, hip, hoorah!!!!!!!!!

I only joined yesterday, and I've already saved more than the cost of my subscription thanks to your tip about the 2 shelf mini greenhouse at Big Lots. I had just looked at one at my local nursery and was planning on picking it up after work tomorrow, for $49.00! Thanks to your tip I bought 2 of them for $14.99 each, and had enough change left over to buy several more items. Thanks for the tip!

welcome to DG Mary, and it's always nice to start out with a savings tip, right??

SoCal,
Just saw the green houses available at the Big Lots on Valley View - South of the 91 Frwy. Just above City of Cypress so must be South Buena Park. They were the short ones.

At our store, they have the 3 shelf ones (19.95) near the front door - then the 2 shelf ones that are $14.95 are on a shelf in the garden section. I think they should have them together - but Noooo!

Middle, TN(Zone 6b)

Azalea, it they force you to search the store for things they stand a better chance of selling you something else that you see and can't live without.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Well, I just got home from my local Big Lots. They only had the two shelf ones. I grabbed two and came home and put one together. It is a cute little thing, but I am wondering if it is big enough for me to do anything with. LOL I may hold on to them and keep looking for the larger ones or if I might just take them back and get a big plastic four shelf utility shelf and cover it with plastic I have at home. Hmmm. My biggest dilemma is that all my light fixtures are four feet long. I also have a whole box of brand new three foot bulbs. There must be a compromise for me somewhere....... Maybe I'll just stow away a few weeks pay and build the real deal. LOL

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

You can set the little one on a table or something near a window. It should hold 4 seeds flats or a bunch of pots. Then you don't need to worry about light or heat.

Toadsuck, TX(Zone 7a)

Just found this........hope they still have some left in Denton!!

When it comes to windows, mine are sorely lacking! LOL I was sitting here wondering if I got the big shelves, how I would cover them. Then shower curtains popped into mind. LOL I attached the two shelves together and it still was rather small, having only four shelves. I called store after store trying to find the three shelve units and only one store had them, about twenty minutes away. And of course hubby does not pass there on the way home. Bummer. This is a total mission for me because I am retiring my Rotogrow this year. It got to be too much hassle, chains sticking in the tracks, going off balance, etc. Still having undying lust for a real greenhouse. :( Whatever I get has to hold 12 flats or more, because that is how many plug trays I start. The little ones would be great for rooting cuttings though!!

OC, CA & Twin Lakes , IA(Zone 4b)

Mine are sitting side by side;am going to remove the plastic and hook up more lights for now; When it gets a little warmer, will remove the lights and roll them outside during the warm days (DH put castors on the bottom)
I think these guys are sturdier than the light stand we built out of PVC.

Thanks y'all for the tip. I got my two-shelf mini greenhouse last night at Big Lots! I think it's great.

went to my big lots they were out :(

Middle, TN(Zone 6b)

Awh!!! Miss, that is a shame. Maybe there is another BIG LOTS somewhere else in your vicinity that would have them. Also, would you have family or friends in other aeas who could check their local stores for you?

Plumieville, PA(Zone 6b)

Elena, have to check the web site , this is the first i heard of them, and when i checked they were gone,so i will be watching next year for sure. thanks!

Tonasket, WA(Zone 5a)

Boy! you guys are lucky to have Big Lots to shop. Nearest here is Wal Mart and they don't have any such animal and besides it is 25 miles away. So not having much choice I ordered one i found in Improvements catalog , four shelf with zippered front . Still in the box as I plan to use it outside for seedlings after sprouting in greenhouse. But guess how much I had to pay and it was on sale, $79.00!!! rutholive. (Donna)

Would think Midwest Home Products would try to sell her a "Big Lot" of them. But maybe they could tell you other retailers they have shipped them to?

The 3 shelf unit I got for 19.95 is distributed by Midwestern Home Products, Inc. PO Box 0591, Wilmington DE 19899

Model #V#709870 or Item #JH19042

Good luck

OC, CA & Twin Lakes , IA(Zone 4b)

Wow that 3 shelf would have been nice to have.
I purchased two of the two shelf (Big Lots) and one of the 4 shelf (Hobby Lobby) Using without the plastic right now and cable strapped some growlights to them. In the spring will remove the grow lights and put casters on the bottom-roll outside into the sunshine during the warmer days and then back inside during the cold nights. If it is too windy outside, the plastic cover will come in handy.

To all of you "THANK YOU"

I've been searching sites for hours.

I'm going to try and call these people or try through the iinternet now that I know the name.

Sandy.

This would work great for me as all of you have been so generous.

I stopped by Big Lots on my lunch break today, and they had 8 or 9 of the 2 shelf greenhouses. I don't know if they restocked or if they never sold out. I got one, I may go back and get a second. Also picked up some nice shepherds hooks for $4.99. I'm anxious to set up the greenhouse, but I've got to groom dogs tonight, we're heading to Indy for shows over the weekend. I hope we'll get back early enough so I can play with it on Sunday!

Well....Thank you all for the information on the greehouse...

Your information with the numbers made it easy.

Found a Big Lots about 30 miles n. of me towards atlantic city,

Very nice people. They were unloading a truck and he's putting two aside for me.
He only saw the two shelf but, if he finds the three he'll hold it.
19.95
