I see their flyer has the 2-shelf mini greenhouse for $15. It's like this one http://www.territorial-seed.com/testcat/hardgoods/images/zgr332.jpg but with 2 shelves. Can't beat the price.
At Big Lots
Will have to check out our local Big Lots :)
Katrina
i'm sending my mother she lives close to it. thanks poppysue.
That is where I got my 3-shelf greenhouse a few years ago. It is really great! It was $18
Thanks so much Poppysue. I read your post and ran right out to my local Big Lots. I bought two of them. I figured if one was good then two would be much better. Mine have three shelves and they cost $20 each. I am thrilled with them. Now I can hardly wait to start using them.
Sue, I also went to my Big Lots today, but they didn't have them. Maybe they won't carry them out here on the west coast.
I do have a 2 tiered one, just like this one...only thing wrong with it...it's not big enough. lol
Donna
Donna keep your eyes out for their flyers. Maybe they'll have them some other time out there. I got one last year - 3 shelves for $20. I strapped a light on it and used it for seedlings. I think a better use might be for cuttings.
I intend to use one of mine for cuttings and one for seeds. Can one ever get too many places for cuttings and seeds?
Just got back from Big Lots - they do have the 2 shelf one for $14.95, but I got the 3 shelf one for $19.95. I also went to Hobby Lobby - they have a 4 shelf one, just like the ones at Big Lots, but it was $49.99!!
I think I will keep it in the house for seeds, then I won't have to worry about heating it. My GH is just not warm enough to start them, besides, I'm out of space!

that's what i get for not going myself lol. i had my mom pick up the 2 shelf she did not mention a 3 shelf while she was their bummer lol. but it did save me money for her to get it as it is a 65 mile drive 1 way for me i would have had to spend more money to make the drive worth it lol.
We got our flyer today from Big Lots and it was advertised.
My wife got me one for Christmas from Joann Fabric and paid $50 for the same one.
Paul
I went to Big Lots today and did not see one. I will go back tomorrow, what a great place to get the seeds started in the spring!
Branka, I almost overlooked the ones I bought. They weren't with the other gardening stuff. Sometimes that happens at Big Lots. That is the reason I always look over the whole store.
Thanks for the tip! After reading this thread, I immediately went to Big Lots and they have the 2-shelf for $14.99 (yes, Katrina, they're in our local store!) I was really hoping for the 3-shelf one, but this is more than what I had.
The 3 shelf one was by the door at our store - I asked about the 2 shelf one that was advertised and found that it was on a shelf away from the others in with other garden supplies! I think this is bad merchandising, but they didn't ask me! If you want the 3 shelf one, I would either call the store to see if they have them and exchange it if it's not too much trouble for you.
Never been to a Big Lots- is it like Walmart? I just found one that is 14 miles from my house. Wonder if I should take a trip there? Kristi
Big Lots is cheesier that Wal-mart... lol, pardon the expression. They have a lot of junk... cheap junk. You can find some great deals in there tho. They usually have lots of garden stuff in the spring.
It's store close-outs - things that often are outdated or seconds, off brands. I would never buy food there, like cookies, dried veggies etc - afraid they would have bugs! Have bought cleaning products, tape, Greeting cards, toys, etc. Things that won't spoil!! Saves a ton of money on these type everyday items. Even kids clothes - got cute Disney pj's for the G Kids.
I got one ,I got one, after chat last night I asked my son to stop at the one close to where he works he got me the the 3 shelf one I haven't seen it yet. But he said the same thing it was not with the 2 shelf ones.
I looked in the flyer and saw it. I am going to go tomorrow for sure. I'd like to experiment with starting seeds inside.
Datdog, run, don't walk to Big Lots. They have all kinds of good stuff for cheap cheap. It's worth the trip.
Azalea, Actually we do buy food from them also. I have never had the least bit of a problem. Some of the best chocolate you have ever eaten from Switzerland, frozen foods, canned foods, etc. Anything that is sealed would be ok I think. A lot of what they sell is over-runs from companies, outdated items such as games and toys, etc. and possibly stock from large companies that are closing out. I feel certan that many of the things are ordered just for them, bought from China and other foreign markets with cheap labor just to sell. I don't know any of that for sure though. I think they would not sell anything bad as they are trying to stay on the top in the stock market, etc. Their reputation is good as far as that goes. The company is doing quite well with their low cost way of running the stores, etc.
Poppysue thank's so much for posting this. I'd never heard of this store, but I looked it up on the internet. A woman at work lives by one and picked me up one last night. I think it's going to be great.
Bravo Sue! (I think Big Lots should send you a gift certificate or something; look how much business you sent their way this week!)
I think so too Vols!! It's nice to find a good deal once in a while.

Can't tell you how close I was to ordering this one and thanks to poppysue . . . Went to Big Lots yesterday and bought 2 for $15 each; then went to Hobby Lobby and bought the big one for $49.
If Big Lots gets the bigger one in for less, will return mine to Hobby Lobby and go back to Big Lots.
Hobby Lobby only had two so I didn't want to take the chance of not getting any of the big ones.
Now I just need to figure out how it is going to be anchored down so our high winds here on the lake do not blow it away. In the meantime it will work great in the garage for seedlings.
Thank you so much! PoppySue!! Hip . . Hip....Hooray!
a
No "Big Lots" near me! Whaaaaaaaa!
For those with a sense of humor, White Flower Farm is selling something quite similar for $75.00 (plus shipping).
Adam.
Poppy,
Why do the instructions say "For Outdoor Use Only"?
And why are there two little ties on the back facing outside. The rest of the ties are on the inside to secure the cover to the frame.
Drives me crazy wondering what those two little ties are for!
a
I used mine inside.... do you think it might give off some toxic gas that will kill me in my sleep?
LOL....
that must be why I'm so weird....I have mine in the house....
I have been thinking about mine; its going to have to be weighted down some way to prevent the wind from blowing it over. I think I will put a cement block on the bottom to hold it down.
If not it will act just a sail and it will probably blow over. Maybe drive a couple of stakes into the ground and wire it to those.
Paul
I moved mine outside in the summer, used it to start cuttings, draped a piece of bulap over the top for shade.....never had a problem with the wind damaging it,maybe because it was right up against the house
Well I finally got mine, it's the two shelf model. Tomorrow I am going to set it up and decide if I need another one. Maybe when I go back they'll have the three shelf model in.
Azalea, Does yours have 2 little green cloth ties on the back side?
Paul, that's a good idea to wire and stake it; the winds here are close to tornadic at times so think it would have to be pulled back into the garage at times.
My DH wants to put castors on it so it can just be rolled right in when necessary.
TLC
Castors!!!! What a wonderful idea. There is another thing to add to the "honey do list". LOL
TLC - my ties are on the front side - these are to use to hold the door open - just roll it up and tie them together. There is a picture of them in use in the link you posted. If your are on the back, then I think son=meone was drinking Saki when they put it together!!
There are four ties on the inside toward the back: two up high and two down low. They secure it to the frame.
Then there are the ties to hold the door open.
BUT on the back are two ties ON THE OUTSIDE! (I'm obsessing!) May have to contact the company if possible just to satisfy my curiousity!
TLC
Mine has zippers......
And no ties CC?? Maybe TLC got your ties, Lol!! And some of mine!! I only have 2 - just on the front.
