tiG! Get up off the floor!! (hah!!!) (*grinning/laffing here!)
Cala, Jo and Carol's excellent adventure begins soon
Shoe, one of my favorite snacks when I was a country urchin with a cotton top was a cold leftover biscuit and a tomato just picked from the vine and crammed into the hand-split biscuit right there in the garden. When we were picking cotton or beans or peas, it was our lunch, because no one had time to pack a real one before heading out to work. To this day, I can eat that when I have appetite problems, and it's just as satisfying as buttermilk and cornbread for supper.
Aimee....there is nothing better!!! Jo
I think I'll play on that sun dried tomatoe biscuit idea, with some garlic and cheese to boot..sounds tasty to me...specially with a pot of pinto beans and ham.........and of course slice maters, and onions on the side.

HMMM....throw some pepperoni in it...call it Pizza Biscuits! Pass them around. Jo
HEY - Traveling quartet and those visiting for lunch on 8/3:
Is chili and cornbread okay for lunch for you guys?
You CANNOT serve them chili and send them to my house for the night! Serve it when they will be sleeping at your house. LOL I am barely past one of them snoring and now you want to serve them chili, put them in a car for three hours and send them to me?? Well, I don't think so! LMBO Can it be beanless chili?? Please............... :)
Hmmm. I guess I'd better change my plans of New England baked beans before they head to CC's house.LOL
Hah!..methinks all ya'll along the way should load them full of beans! Baked beans. Chili beans. Beans and cornbread. Black bean soup! Then turn them loose on their own!...could be great fun!...and wonderful conversation!
Shoe, you're so mean "hehehe". There will be earthquake rumbling reports going up the coastline if we do that.
yep, but the price of gas may go down also!
Oh my, they are threatening to toss me out for my snoring and if y'all do this to me, I don't know what might happen!!
This is the best trip so far, we met Louisa and she is a doll. She is a great cook too!!
SgtDot and Ginlyn fixed crab soup for lunch today. They had beans for supper.(just kidding, it was barbeque and very good cooks they are too) Jo says we are leaving bright and early in the morning!! Hate to leave here, it's like visiting long lost family.
So ya'll will be landing here next... right? Weather sure has been cool - in the 50s tonite & it's supposed to be 60s tomorrow. I guess you don't have to worry about it being too hot. I finally got the nite off from work so I'll be rested & ready to play. Drive safely - and gimme a call when you land here.
Cool here too poppy. Sure hope they brought some warm clothes.
......or that there's a WalMart close by where they can get some sweats!

Poppy, You'll probably be getting a call when they get to your neck of the woods. Please let us know when they make it safely to Maine.
I just pulled a big lasagana out of the oven but I haven't heard from them yet. I'd imagine they'll be pretty darn tired after driving all day. They may want to take it easy tonite. I'll let ya know when I hear from them.
Probably out in the poppy patch doing a little raiding.......er admiring, before they come on
in.
"eyes"
They there yet?
No ... should we worry?
I wouldn't think so, they probably have four cellphones between them. I was just wondering if y'all were visiting yet. :)
PoppySue are they staying with you? Maybe they are just trying to find a motel . Wonder if Cala has her cell phone with her. I still have the number if we don't hear anything soon .
Hey, any Ohio-area folks. If you're intersted in meeting the gals here at our place on Saturday, check out this thread: http://davesgarden.com/showthread/307975.html
They're staying in a motel near by - I think it's the Holiday Inn.
Poppysue, Maybe they are going to wait till morning to give you a call. That Lasagna will taste even better tomorrow. Would be nice to know they made it ok though.Hoping you'll hear something from them soon.
Sheesh - i WAS getting a little worried! I just got a call and I'll be heading out to meet them and bring them back here. Cala said they got in around 8 o'clock last night. It's overcast & sticky now but I don't think they're predicting rain... Hope we have a good day!!
Whew! So glad they made it safely. Have a wonderful day.
I am so glad they made it ok.Thanks for letting us know Poppysue. Hope you have a wonderful visit.
Good news to hear. Those turkeys had us all a bit worried. Glad to know all is okay. :)
