New way to outline beds

Traci, from your description of the pine cones, I think the ones you have are much bigger than the ones I have. The ones I have from the ponderosa pine are only about the size of a small grapefruit. It sounds like yours are bigger.

Won't the seeds in the cones germinate in your border?

Aimee, I collected seeds from this tree last fall, and these pine cones had been in a pile for quite some time, so I don't think so. If they do, I'll just yank em up. Then on the other hand, I would love to have one of these trees here at my house, so I'd try to transplant it. These pine trees are at my Dad's, about 30 min from me. But, that is a thought, but I really think they'll be ok. Thanks for telling me though. I just love the way the border looks, so I'm just gonna wait and see. I'll post a pic soon!

Thanks Everyone,
Traci S

looking forward in seeing your picture TraciS

Anyway, you could always trade the seedlings, so it would be just another part of growing your beds. I'm just a tad jealous, as that type of pine won't grow here in this alkaline soil.
