Best/Worse/What did I learn today?chat with friends new and old..

Verona, ON

Wet, drab cold day here. It poured rain all night then let up for a couple of hours this morning. It's raining again. It is mid 60's a big difference from 90 + for the last week. I got my hydro bill yesterday and considering I had the ac on several days I was happy with the cost.

Pat I too have never heard of the faux bee's nests. I have been stung twice with mud wasps after digging into the ground with my hands. Oh man my whole body went crazy for a couple of minutes.

The vet gave me the kennel discount so that helped with bill. Chaos is back to himself today and wants to go for a walk. If the rain slows down a bit I'll go then.

Today I went to Sydenham to get the boys' kibble and treats. It also gives me a chance to drop in on the new baker. I am so glad I don't live closer. His goods are addictive. His double chocolate cookies are amazing. Kerry from the dogs' food store came over with me and talked me into a cinnamon bun. Haven't touched it yet but it might be an unhealthy dinner with a glass of milk.

Deb more puppy pictures please. How old are they now?

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

Well we are cooling down but only to 106 to 109. But that is cooler than 112. Our nights do not get out of the high 80s. We are suppose to be getting our monsoon rains starting Sunday night or Monday. Usually beings flooding.

My landscapers come on Friday, so every Friday I go through the landscape like a wild woman cutting and pruning and leaving trimmings in piles. When they get here, first thing they do is pick up my piles. Yesterday, I discovered a hanging basket that was totally dry and sent close to 45 minutes trying to determine which sprinkler valve line it was on. Ivy in that area was turning brown and I had said to myself earlier in the week that that ivy usually does not have a problem with the heat. The landscaper's son, who is in the 8th grade, nice young Hispanic young man, helped me when he got her to find the valve. Reason I could not find the problem is there were two lines cut behind the pool area that were running a lot of water but out of my sight. As soon as he repaired those two cut lines, my pot started getting water. There was also another cut in the 3/4 line that went to the same valve. He found that one when he got the first two fixed. I gave him a $25 tip for his help.

We had two ambulances in her yesterday, one from a plumber getting ill while working outside and another from an owner, about my age. My dear neighbors that have lived across the street for 20 years are moving today. Downsizing. Their children are out of college and have their own lives and no longer need a home with 5800 sq ft. I will really miss them. They are the same age as my children.

Betty, I am so pleased you are feeling better. How was the fish and chips? One of Vern's favorite meals. You pie sound delicious. I have a wasp nest in one of my pots near the driveway that has wire vine growing in it. That irrigation was turned off last week for 4 days. This one was caused by pool guy. I was hand watering pots and they came flying out of the wire vine hanging over the side. I just stopped watering that area and moved away.

Pat your rooms look delightful. So pleased you are nearing the end of this period in your life. My daughter and daughter-in-law hang all of my family photos. I do not do it right. I have very few paintings hanging in my home. My sister has a whole wall of crosses and my daughter has a whole wall of different size clocks My wall right before my bedroom and one going down the hall to my guest bedroom are lined with photos of the children and grandchildren and now great grandchildren. Enjoy you visitor. Family visits are always special.

Susan, I hope you have a wonderful time at the gardens.

I have a dermatologist appointment on Tuesday. Just a check up. My neighbor right next door just had a big chunk taken off the right side of his nose, near the bridge, some of the tops of his ears and a large piece on his right cheek, He is 62 and either lived in California or Nevada. He said, shame on himself for not using sunscreen. But he will have a plastic surgeon fix it.

My 81st birthday is on Friday. Can you all believe it has been a year since my big party. My son will be 60 on Saturday, the 5th.

I remember paddle boats were a lot of work. but they were fun.

Dianne, hope you and your puppy had a good visit with the vet. Thank goodness we have no humidity. But will have some next week if the monsoons come in and we pray they do.

It is getting warmer, 105.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Ok, it says on internet the faux nests are not very effective this time of year. The Time to hang them is VERY early spring when the wasps are looking to choose where to build their homes.

For the most part, I refuse to do any zippers. I am NOT fond of alterations but my "non-standard" body proportions required alternations if I wanted to have clothes that fit. I used to just make all my own clothes to avoid alterations. My sister is extremely short from crotch to waist and long from waist up. SHE needed alternations. My sons were all weight lifters so were massive in the thighs but disproportionately small in the waist. What I am trying to say is, if we wanted clothes to fit, they needed to be custom made, or off the rack and altered. LOL, I learned to alter & sew out of desperation & financial necessity. Catherines Right Fit jeans have been a real blessing, but I needed to take in even those in the waist until recently.
https://www.catherines.com/products/right-fit-curvy-jean/1058012.html?cgid=CA_Bottoms_Jeans&dwvar_1058012_color=4426362 Plus, I'm just plain cheap. When you lose weight it's economically wise to learn to take in your clothes!

Waspinator

Think we used them all Spring/summer, did work when I had them here..almost forgot about hanging them..

They don’t get close enough to it to realise it is a fake wasp nest. They see t
Not a lot is known about wasps’ eyesight, other than they can see for long distances, but they do get fooled by other things, for example, the ability of orchids to appear and smell like a female wasp which elicits copulating behaviour by the male wasp and thereby the pollination of the orchid.
Too much information perhaps, but nature uses mimicry to induce behaviour in wildlife, and Waspinator uses it to get rid of wasps. Waspinator works like a scarecrow for wasps, it is a wasp repellent, not a wasp trap.

Looks like the weather pattern might start giving us rain and cooler temps.once i got my to do list done for the day I spent a hour outside cutting spent flowers..as soon as it cools down I am going to dig and throw away a lot of the plants, far too dense, makes it worse with this humidity it’s like a jungle.

Dianne I got my hydro bill but didn’t open it up, guess I should .. I pay mine in 12 equal payments and then final reading.did Zeke get into mischief? Glad the Vet gave you an in-house discount.

Sharon, here in winter we have the off blizzard that might keep us in for a day or so but. nothing like you have, weather from hell and now monsoon weather?? Worrisome I am sure.

Lindakay, let us know when you make it to your sister’s.

Karen I’m with you, I will or could sew all day but don’t ask me to mend.
Pat I would so pay someone to do alterations, not a fan of zippers or alterations..i don’t mind hemming pants but that is it.

I had chicken Alfredo and it was horrible, bagged it for trash, maybe it was because I knew what desert would be 😜

Ziggy is beside me sound asleep, think I’ll head to bed to get comfy, won’t sleep but can go through pattern designs for my quilt throw on i pad..am sure. Ziggy will follow.

Got a call from Washington State. Navy grandson & wife. Next baby quilt will be pink for Nora Rae. Best get my thinking cap on.

Congratulations, Karen, great grandchild #?. Nora Rae, pretty name, my Mother-i in-law’s name was Nora as well.

I should have marked sleep on my to do list.

Morning, 58f reaching78 so nice morning to be working outside. Bernie messaged me to say he will be here 9-9:30 to do the 4 plank staircase landing…tried to take the landing apart but not strong enough. Big sigh

Made a Coffee, feet up and browsing through throw designs..taking me longer to pick a pattern than make it..

Dianne, my electrical bill was $117.06, not as much as I anticipate. They lowered my monthly payment to $98 a month, they do not want users to have credits..i won’t be happy if at end of year I end up with owing $400.

With Adam and both freezers gone, my bill should go down. I don't remember the last time it was as low as $117!

Yep, Deb, we need puppy pics!!

Dianne, me too, I want to know how Zeke did.

Sharon, 5800 sf? WOW, no wonder they were downsizing!

Karen, how special, another great grandbaby! I look forward to seeing your new baby blanket design. I don't remember if you told us the coloring of the last baby? Did it come with blonde & fair features or did your SIL win that DNA roll of the dice?

Yesterday, I did a quick prune job on the flowering bushes along the garage. They were starting to push into the walkway too much. This morning I want to do a quick weed killer spray job. The area along my neighbor's fence is going green with weeds and an area of mine along the back flower bed. Catch it now when I can JUST spray and not have to pull up dead stuff.

Heather's sewing machine did not sound "healthy" so I had her just put it back and she used mine. Although there are differences in the machines, I am sure she came away with a lot better idea of what to do. We altered 3 shirts, 2 sweatshirts, 2 pair of jeans, 2 pair of dress pants and 1 dress. I also gave her one of my dress & jacket outfits. She is MUCH shorter than me & I just felt it was too short for me. It looked really nice on her. We did not finish everything, I had her leave the stuff we marked and she'll come back another day. Over this last year she has lost a lot of weight, got her A1C under control and is really trying hard to get control of her health.

Pat, last baby was actually the twins. Surprisingly they both have brown hair. Big brother is total blondie.
I'm going to have to get all the chenille pieces and see if an inspiration pops up. I just talked with person who sells chenille pieces to let her know it's a girl. She will be sending me photos of what she has and then I will choose. She lives in TX and the weather there has been horrid hot so it might be a while until she can get to the fabric. It's OK as I do have time.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Ohh Debbie, just want to pick one up, well maybe 2-3,heck all of them and get puppy kisses.i can see a bit of their breed showing but not a whole lot..took picture of your photo so I can show Sharon.

Lordy Pat, you must work on high speed to get that much altered..you must know how to alter..

Karen, perhaps you should have a few made in advance. Hmm chenille, from antique bedspreads? I am hoping to make a snowman pillow or throw and want to use the orange chenille you sent me about a decade ago. What kind of design are you looking for!

Bernie got her at 9 and did the little landing. I tried to help but was more in the road than helping. Was good I had all the wood pre cut for him.once he left i got a gallon of paint and worked on the deck, for a minute although it looked like it was going to rain it passed me by so 7 hours later I called it a day. Floor needs done and the deck facia, a long day or 2 half days and that project will be behind me, if nothing else it will look clean.

I had leftover wood so it will be used on back bedroom landing, about same size as the front. I will pick up what I need and Bernie said he will come again and make frame.

Knelt a lot today painting deck spindles, knees are paining and Tylenol 3 aren’t helping soI will take a squirt of thc/cbd oil and hopefully pain will stop.

Debbie, Those puppies are so unique with such different coloring.. Looks like some of the tales are docked. Is that right or are they born with different tails. You will have to separate them by sex so we can tell which is which.

Betty, you are as bad as me. We do not now when to stop. I do not garden on Sunday but it is cloudy and I sure wanted to but going to daughter's for dinner so do not want to go with fat hair. My biggest problem working on my knees is getting up. I think your white porch is perfect for your home. All you need now is a white picket fence. Was your pie as good as it looks.

Karen, I do not think I will live long enough to catch up with you and great grandchildren.

Pat, my power bill never gets below $200. The $549 was for one month. So was the water bill. Some of my neighbors water bill were $1400.00. One lady had one for $1900 and discovered she had a major leak in her irrigation andthe next month got it down to $1400. Last month at the HOA meeting I was asked what my water bill was because I have so many plants. They expected thousands and we very surprised when I said mid four hundreds. This next month will be nasty because refilling the pool will be on that bill. They have added an excess water use fee to the water bill and if you go over a certain amount of water, you go to double. Gas company got a raise, power company got a raise, real estate taxes went up and now water. I think I am going to rob a bank so I can live in prison free.

I can barely sew on a button. My daughter is a good seamstress and baker and I am neither.

Hugs to you all and have a wonderful evening.

Victoria Harbour, ON

You can’t be good at everything Sharon lol your forte is showcase gardening.
Our water and sewer here is every 3 months for $425 but it’s unlimited water, with amount of baths iI take a day thank goodness.

When I was at no frills I picked a package of peameal bacon, there was no price on it, asked someone to check, when she said $5,00, hmm when it came time to key it in again i couldnt think I’d let a large package for so little $$$. Seems something troublesome when it seems

Just dropped iPad a few times , night night

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Betty this lady gets chenille spreads that are damaged and salvages what she can. Cuts it into pieces and sellShe is very reasonable price wise and a baby quilt is smalls that way. She is going to send me pics of what she has that looks girlie and I will tell her which I want. She is very reasonable price wise plus she has always been kind to me with her charges. Baby quilts are small anyhow.I will have to decide what I want to use for backing. Something soft, maybe flannel. Have to make a bunch of burp cloths too. My friend who does the long arming always works in the babies name.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Sharon, here I thought you were going to rob a bank to pay for the utilities and instead just to get FREE room & board!

Debbie, the puppies are adorable and growing so fast. Their individual personalities are showing I am sure. About how old will they be when they start getting the spectacular long hair the Afgans are so famous for? Pic#3 is so funny, it looks like your puppy is laughing.

Betty, the "alterations" were nothing fancy. I use a method of matching the neckline & taking what amounts to a dart from the neckline towards the shoulder to "lift & tighten" the neckline. If a blouse fits in general but gaps a little or too loose at neckline, that is enough to tighten it up and make it wearable. If the shoulders aren't too wide and baggy, a loose blouse can be made smaller by starting part way down the sleeve and running a deeper seam up and thru the underarm, down the body.. Frequently you can take up as much as 4 inches total around the body that way. I think you have a much to elevated view of what we were actually doing!!! There were 2 of us working, Heather & I with serger & sewing machine from 5PM to midnight.

I did not get any weed spraying done. I took a shower & discovered that my walk in shower drain did not drain & I flooded my bathroom AND part of my bedroom, new hardwood floor and all. I used big bath towels & mopped it all up while crying. Today I will call a plumber and find out whether it is a simple clogged drain or something a lot more serious. I am just tired and discouraged. I just can't get ahead of the mess. I just want to LIVE in peace in my house with working appliances etc. At this rate I won't have a choice but to go back to work. My SS and state retirement are more than enough to pay for my general expenses but NOT enough to pay for the thousands of dollars of repair that have been the normal these past few months. If my septic tank and drain field are ruined, I am looking at about 30K to connect to sewer.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning..though overcast it again feels like fall, such a drop, went from a/c to heat.

Think mega people who were well set for retirement have had a shock, much easier when there are two of you.You should have taken a small video of you both working..regardless of the tiniest thing that needs repay or alteration still mega work.

As for your septic problem I think you need a few quotes. Did cost me that much to get connected to main municipal system

I so want the generac ($10k) and that would leave me with an emergency fund so don’t want to take the chance.

I’ve been out paining since 8a.m. Came inside to get broom and stepladder to finish the side..another hour and that should complete all painting except for the flood..

Coffee in hand, back out to put in the last hour this morning seeing Vanessa comes for her class at 11 and will be here til 1..will see how much energy I will have left after that to start floor, always tomorrow right.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Lindakay know that I think of you and your sister often, hugs and prayers coming your way..

Victoria Harbour, ON

Just came in, hard day but it’s done.. Marie sat in the shade and kept me company, Vanessa came for her 2 hour lesson, before she left Cathy dropped in..Vanessa’s dad picked her up, told Cathy if she was staying she would have to help me Carrie in furniture, Marie came to help, well Cathy and Marie are much the same so Cathy left..grrr kindergarten kids

Living room looks like a hurricane hit my living room, deck patio furniture all inside.

Goodness, everyone has been so busy.
Saturday was my flight day. I was supposed to leave rapid city at 1:30 and arrive in Grand Rapids at 8:30 pm.
I did not leave until 7:00pm, and got to Grand Rapids 5:00am. Delays were all due to no flight staff available. I was very upset, and tired.
My sister has her good and bad days. She gets tired very easily. Hospice has her on fentanyl pain patches, and as needed will increase the dosage. I will be flying back to Sturgis Sunday. But I told my Sister, when things get worse, just call me. I will be back to help her.
This afternoon we were talking, and she ask me what it was like when Todd was in his final days. I started crying and told her it wasn't easy, but wouldn't go into detail because everyone is different. She said that is what the hospice nurse told her too.
Hello to everyone here. I am not ignoring you. Just really busy here.
I will be back and try to post again tomorrow.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Heart goes out to you lindakay, overwhelming for you sitting all day while sister was waiting and fretting worried sick about you.l hope airline will compensate you providing you with a free return trip fare , imagine lack of staff for flights.. did not realize you would be leaving Sunday .

hard to answer questions with Todd’s death so fresh in your mind but she want to know so she can prepare.

I am sorry your flight was so crazy & delayed Linda. I am glad you are there now and can comfort your sister.

Betty, are those Highland cattle? Where is Grayson that he has them near him? Those long haired cattle are so cute!

Marie has called their kids, letting them know that she and Phil felt that tonight "might be the night he passes". She is afraid she might be "crying wolf" but I told her to just tell them what she knows and believes and leave the rest to them to decide. I brought her dinner, some drinks, protein shakes and a blanket so she can spend the night if she chooses to. The local son & family got there before I was gone. Phil's color was not good, he was so much weaker, he said he "felt different" and thought it was soon.

The plumber has come & gone, $407 later & the drains are working. I know I have to get the septc tank pumped out, even if it's just for my peace of mind. Hopefully we won't unearth a problem that I have worried about but did not KNOW about...

Morning, it will be a perfect feel like fall kind of day!

Oh Pat, I did not realize that Phil was near death, thought Marie couldn’t look after him because of physical care he needed. Prayers for you all.

i love those pastel looking photo’s, not a wonder you wanted all your pretties out, bet there is hardly a trace of previous boarders. Get someone to empty septic tank right away so it will not be a worry, likely just needs a good cleaning having so many living in the house.

Kyle lives but a few miles from a farm that allows children to come see the animals. Believe she is a photographer and takes photos for parents..

L8ndakay, sending prayers.

don’t have June or Pat today and Giorgia fell off her skateboard and isn’t feeling the greatest so will come Thursday therefore I have all day for me… kind of exciting!!!

That is until I pulled my ‘to do’ note was it was clean the refrigerator and discard expired food..big sigh.. won’t take that long.

I decided that my rider need a washing then I will cut grass and put it in it’s parking place as I’ve been looking at it each time i leave the back entrance there it sit waiting for washing.

That should keep me busy until noon then hoping I can spend afternoon on the two front gardens that are root bound, will make it easier come spring.

Ziggy is happy as i set back deck doors semi open so he can come and go as he pleases

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Betty, Phil has been with Hospice for the last 3 weeks.

Let me tell you, the current popular trend in hair dye in all the bright colors.... I have not even started on getting the 2 bathrooms "corrected". I will need to do a lot of repainting. It is also one of the reasons I decided to paint all the wood work white. Hair dye on doors, cabinets etc. thankfully there are only tiny spots of it on the floors including my kitchen.

I should get with it and get stuff done. I never know when I might be called on to help with something or provide company for Marie. I am just letting her tell me what she needs. She is pretty good about voicing her needs to me.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Marie called, Phil slept thru the night. They gave him Lorazepam, it is an anxiety medication and can really help with sleep.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Glad Phil had a good night sleep.
I missed something for sure, thought the home he washing was only temporary and that this new home would be where he now lived.. sure don’t know where how i missed it..drats

Am sure Marie will need your help, always better when someone in need needs help vs us offering when individual just wants to be on their own.

Gee, hope your DIL treats her home better than she treated yours..imagine, hair dye.

I worked extra hard this morning, i really lost caring for my gardens since before Covid, will take me August and September to purge plants and trim limbs, feels like I am living in a jungle. Spent 4 1/2 hours digging up plants and working the ground for mulch, nowhere to transplant so i will let them dry and burn in the pit..not the time to do what I am doing but Today was the day.

Keep saying I’ll cook ribs but don’t so in the oven cooking they are along with a couple baked potatoes.

Feel my eyes closing, best I eat then nap

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

We pretty much knew that when Phil entered the hospital with the broken leg in

March that it was unlikely he would ever come home again. His bones are so fragile, I know the word & can't spell it! He has broken so many vertebrae that he is now rebreaking the ones he has had repaired. His COPD, his immobilization all make it impossible for Marie to continue to care for him at home. He is literally starving, he eats so little and has multiple pressure ulcers. At least with Hospice care he can be made comfortable.
Linda, I hope your sister if finding comfort with your presence. I am praying for you both. I do hope she is not in a lot of pain.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Afternoon everyone.
Hospice was here this morning. Took her off her blood pressure pills, as her blood pressure has been steadily dropping. 88/74 this morning. I have decided to stay here till the 10th. I have doctor appointments I have to keep in Amarillo. So I will get those done and fly back here late August.
Grayson is growing so fast.
Pat, I love those paintings. They go very well in your rooms.
Sending prayers for Phill and Marie.

So tough seeing family going through this ........... I don't have the words.

The Botanic gardens were fabulous. So many pictures. I'll put more in the next post.

The faux wasps nests aren't working, I don't think the wasp traps are, either - it was suggested tonight to put some raw meat in, and let it rot, to draw them in.

Susan, those gardens must encompass acres of land! Thanks for sharing pics, especially the one of you & Dianne.

Linda, continued prayers for you & sister. Thank you, I do have some beautiful art that was made by friends and/ or bought and given to me as gifts. When I get it rehung, I will take a picture of the counted cross stitch that my friend Paula's mother did. Paula gifted it to me when she had no where appropriate to hang it and KNEW I loved it.

I am off to spend the day helping Sharon with the garage clean up project. I am hoping it won't be a scorcher of a day.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Afternoon,

Appreciate looking all all your photos Suzanne, nice to see photo of Dianne as well.

Pat,look forward to the cross stitch..wow, here you are with a zillion things to do and here you are off helping others.

Lindakay, you know you are overwhelmed, sending prayers and hugs. Is your sister sleeping most of the day redrugs making her tired? As Susan said, thereAre no words..

77 but humidity is high and of course guess who is digging all the flowers that are now twitch intermixed..will look sad when I finish but come spring I will have a clear slate to plant perennials that don’t take over and what I’ve grown myself.

Taking a break as my shoulders said enough is enough. Now if it will only rain so that what I have transplanted will survive.

Greg asked me if I was going to make peach jam this year?? Don’t remember making peach jam, all else yes but not peaches. I will include in my break a trip to Foodland to see if they still have peaches on sale, if so think I will make him jam. They usually have a bit of cooked lunches, maybe i can get something and won’t have to cook supper.

Victoria Harbour, ON

When I said I would dig everything out of the 4 front gardens I must have meant it..quite the job, almost finished the main front one..not a wonder I am hurting..

It’s about to rain, will do wonders for the 16 half dead hanging baskets baskets, might get 5 out of them if I give them some tender loving care.
Makes my tummy churn when I see nobody posting, you all ok?

This morning I had Evan here so we decided he would make scarf for homeless..he did well and wore it h9me..lol

I am here. Just busy all day keep Sis company. She does sleep a lot, but some days she is up in her recliner. Her birthday is the 18th, but my brother from Washington is going back home tomorrow, we gave her a small party today. She really enjoyed that.
Betty it sounds like you over did yourself again today. But I have to agree, your gardens next year will be beautiful.
Evan did a wonderful job on his scarf. Nice he wanted to do something for the homeless.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, was such a glorious sunrise this morning.

So glad Lindakay that your sister got to celebrate her birthday with family members. Can’t imagine how one would deal with knowing that her end is near, heart breaks for you all.

I started putting the front deck furniture back on. Have the water feature and flower to add and fini, I will have to make an attempt to sit out there more often.. I’ve so many seating areas shaking my head, and sit nowhere. Suppose to start raining around five, will do what I transplanted good, maybe they will survive.

One of the 2 girls that come at 9:30 cannot come this morning. I am kind of hoping Adele won’t come, would be nice to finish deck project and get cleaning dead growth from the 16 flower baskets I got yesterday..

Goal is to make peach jam this afternoon.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Linda, that is very sweet about the bday party. Those are the things that are important.

I wish postage wasn't so expensive. Marie and I have bins of fleece to do "somthing" with and having Evan make scarfs would be a relief!

Susan, I went back again & reviewed your beautiful pictures. Thank you for sharing them.

Sharon has spent many Wednesdays here, ALL day, working with me outside. We kind of switch back and forth. Whoever has a project they need help with. We've worked on her invitations for special events at her church, the denim quilt for her son. Here, it's generally the outside work she loves. She can't wait to start on my patio LOL.

We worked from 9.00 to after 5.30 in the garage. She has a big garage and TOOLS. Table saw, band, saw, jig saw, router, tile saw, scroll saw and a bin of smaller tools that are under the work bench. THEN there is the wood we needed to sort and find ways to store. She can now get her big pickup truck in and open all the door wide open! We sorted out a pickup load of stuff to try to sell, camping equipment and crafts. We have a load to donate.

Did you find peaches? That sounds good. Today so far has been a good day for Kathy. She dozes off for short naps, so everyone stays quiet to let her nap.

I am seriously considering tearing down the chain link fence around my veggie garden, and making a green space out of it, instead of the garden - waterfall & all :)
It's 540 sq ft, and would be a nice addition to my yard.
Last night I bought a deck sun shade from a friend in town & they delivered it to me this morning. I need to clear off my back deck & put it there. I have a 10 ft market umbrella that I can't seem to open. Something's jammed in the workings.
Last night I also sprayed the area where the wasps go in under my shed step & I've only seen 1 wasp there this morning. Mind you, it's cool & damp now so maybe they'll come out later when it's hot again. I mowed the lawn, front, side & back last night too - feeling productive :) Today all the grass clippings went to the garbage. I know the garbage guy & he said they're not supposed to take organic matter, but if 1 or 2 bags go missing, he won't tell lol Wonder if he'll use it for his garden?!?!
