Beautiful bird houses Betty.

Don't think I would click that link.

Reporting to Admin the above post. I did not click but CLEVER intro hooking into our thread title!

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Linda, 1 month is practically speed of light in today's medical world! I hope this goes easily for you,.

Contractor came, now biting nails waiting for the bad news of how much this is going to cost.

Betty, I prefer room by room but frankly, I don't want to make and clean the mess over and over! So, it makes sense to just get it done. ALL of it, as much as possible, as quickly as possible!

When Dana & Carrie proposed this visit, I thought I would have PLENTY of time to get the house in order! The walls painted, the beds all moved to the appropriate rooms. After all it was 7 weeks after A&A had signed their house papers. LOL

Happy Birthday Lindakay, sure hope you were spoilt today!
Did you get out to enjoy your day? Know these birthdays are difficult, missing Todd I am sure.

Awww, that is such. Great photo Karen..to be treasured.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thank you Betty.
We are getting ready to go share my birthday with our church pastor and family.
Grilled chicken, tacos, potato salad... and cake.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Happy Birthday Linda, sounds like a lovely bday dinner!

Karen, that picture is adorable!

Betty, that paint 'apron" is too funny!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thank you Pat.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Pat he did not want an apron on, best we could put on him was a plastic garbage bag.
Did yo know this minister befo moving to Amarillo?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, sun is out but it’s clouding over..put 2 hrs in the garden, been resting for 20 minutes now out i go for another bit..calling for rain to arrive around 1 so maybe I can get some weeding done

Hope it’s sunshine in your neck of the woods.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I did not know him. He is the pastor my son and his wife go to. When we first got here with Todd, he was at the hospital praying for us everyday, and was here with us at the house when Todd came home on hospice.
It's 65 right now, will be 85 and sunny this afternoon.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

WOW Linda, sounds like the pastor certainly has taken your family under his wing. I am happy to hear you have made such a close connection.
Lots to do and Sharon is coming for a few hours. Lets see what mischief we can get into. Might even go OUT to lunch! I will certainly have to change as I have my painting clothes on.
There are at least 3 boxes of kitchen stuff out in my garage, it will be easier to sort and put that away when 1 of us can be on the stepladder and one on the floor.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Great you’ve a bond with the pastor Lindakay, someone to talk to when needed.that is cooler temps for you, are you enjoying the cooler weather?

Pat you tire me out, if it’s you on the ladder please be careful. Lunch out would be nice.

Storm starting to pass through, can hear the thunder and wind is up.. just in time for me to put my trimmer away seeing I’ve done all round the gardens, looks nice when all trimming is done.

I hoe’d the garden next to my little shed and I put cages around the tomato plants, doubtful i will get tomato’s or cucumbers because there is not much sunshine in that area but am hoping for beans. There are a few trees back there that if I cut down some limbs next year i could get more sun..we will see.

Took garlic ribs out for supper, need to cook rice.

I have a class at 4:30, aching to the bones..think I should get the heat blanket and covers a myself up.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Finally, Surplus furniture called to say my rug is in..ordered in when we shopped on my birthday 1st week in March.. been a longtime coming, hope I like it as it was so long ago.

Nothing wrong with the rug I have, will clean it then advertise on VH Hub that there is a rug and a painted linoleum about 4x6 that I painted with same design/colour that is available for free should someone want it.. am sure someone will take it

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I am loving these cooler Temps. Lots of rain too. And with rain comes those pesky mosquitoes.
I hope you like your rug. That took a long time.
Pat, you be careful.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

OUCH LindaKay - you were very good to put yourself on the back burner with your knees, but I hope you get them redone quickly. Having gone through knee problems myself, I feel for you!
Betty - how sweet to have this picture memory of the 2 girls. I hope Grayson Can sit still long enough to paint his birdhouse. His dad would be so proud to get this gift frrom his son.
Pat - the heat tape stays on all the time, unless it's shut off. Because the pipes started freezing after my home was moved, I was asked tonight if maybe the heat tape came undone or a duct is loose. Nope, the heat tape was checked 2 years ago when they installed the water meter. Some pipes were brought out of the wall, replaced with poly ones & can be seen behind my air fryer IF I move it. Nope, has to be that the heat tape has reached its usefullness & needs to e replaced. But, I'm not a plumber or HVAC specialist so can't be sure.
I'm hoping to get a picture of me with my winning pie for Saturday. We're having a Spring Market & I'm making 2, to sell. With a picture of me winning the prizes, and them being in an electric cooler, the pies should be good for sale.
I also have my quilt for auctioning. Spring Market is Saturday, from 10-4pm

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Good luck.with your sales.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Susan, good luck with your pies. I'll be they sell fast and for a good price.

Linda Kay, so this scheduled visit is the just the beginning of getting everything in order for knee surgery? I hope the expedite that surgery for you!

Betty, ribs ALWAYS sound good to me!

Sharon & I never did make it into the garage or storage barn to get those boxes. My neighbor Patty called and asked about the pretty headboard. I told her we would deliver it to her if she wanted it. Sharon & I delivered and spent at least an hour on a garden tour & visiting.

I made lunch at home since my neighbor teen Gabe was going to mow over on A&A side. I wanted to be sure to be home, instruct him to get the edge WIDE berth as I did not think it was safe to get too close to the edges as A&A still had lots of stuff out there. I just wanted him to be safe.

I got a little more painting done. 1 side of the entry door, it will need 2nd coat & other side needs paint. I got some of the entry trim painted, LOTS more to do. Not to mention ALL of both halls & living room. I will want all that done before the contractor starts on the wood floor. The bid gave me sticker shock but still feel it needs to be done.

Tonight will be my first sleep over on the other side. I have the temporary bed set up & tomorrow I will move enough clothes for a week. Dana & Carrie arrive tomorrow and my "old" room is ready for them. I am still straddling both sides of the house and will be until the painting & floors are finished.

The outside of the house is really coming along. It is starting to look like I LIVE HERE. Patty told me when she saw all that mess out there on my parking area for several weeks, she was concerned something had happened to me. She knew I would NEVER have let the exterior look like that. A&A still have huge mess out behind the house but least the front is clear & other areas are getting better. I hope they get the last of the exterior & barn contents gone this weekend.

No more trailer they used for storage, now to clean up the gravel and add a thin layer of gravel to cover up all the mechanic spills etc.

The last picture above is about the same picture as this, This was taken about 4 weeks ago. While they sorted stuff on the gravel parking for weeks. I had a meltdown.

Glad to see the beauty returning back to your place.
Lots of work for sure.

Thanks Linda

Afternoon, overcast but great day for work8mg outside although the skitters like this weather as well.

Hope Lindakay they see the urgency and book surgery asap, as for here bet it would be at least 1/2 year wait. Get some projects ahead so you can sit and recover but not be bored! must be overwhelming for you with all you are dealing with.

What a difference Pat, you must be so overjoyed.. you are a better woman than I because I certainly couldn’t have dealt with all that mess..my neighbours mess that I can see on side of house facing Jamie, the junk yard drives me crazy..i should have had the fence made right to the end of the drive. You sure have achieved an awful lot over the past few weeks, when will you be able to take a break and do something for you.

Susan have you costed out how much for new heating coil? Look forward to seeing your winners photo..you put so much into these community events. I made a pie last night, did lemon meringue, i put it in the oven just to brown the top, honestly, just turned around for a few seconds to wash the bowl I used for meringue and I could smell it..just saved it, well I ate the worse part of it lol

I had taken a break as Marie was here and a worker with orange vest knocked on my door, introduced himself as a paver, gave me his card and asked if i would like a quote to pave my driveway, i said no that I had done the roof last year but maybe next year, he insisted on giving me a quote, wait for it, $11,000 but as I kept saying No he kept putting down the price..best bargain at $8,000. No is no right!!

Had my rest, time to go back out and get more done..in the back area where the picture frame is that little garden has been overtaken by a pretty flower but extremely invasive..i will finish the afternoon pulling it out and maybe transplanting some flowers and a few shrubs

Starting to look pretty, 2 closest to the house where my back deck is a pretty view.

Some people don't take no for an answer. I would have never answered the door.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Betty, Ziggy does not look like he is much help!! LOL. I do not do well with pushy sales people. I have a tendency to get rude. When all else fails, SHUT the door & tell them to be sure to let the rest of their company to NOT return.

I did NOT deal with the mess. I just tried to keep my mouth shut & stayed away from home as much as possible & frankly cried. It was very painful for me to see my home look like that. An artistic friend of mine has a saying "That hurts my eyes." I have to agree, in this case, it also hurt my heart. .

It will be a while before I can "rest" or move back into the whole house. I still have more painting that I will do, and hem/ remake curtains, plus the refinishing of the floors the contractor will do.. I hope it's all done soon.

Lindakay, how did you make out with your new doctor??
Usually don’t open the door but Marie was here..when i finally said unless you are going to pave for $0 i can’t afford it, he shrugged and left.

Pat it would break your heart for sure..well it’s all behind you, you did your best, costly for you though.

Sad, bus and tractor trailer collide, many on the bus dead, many sent by air ambulance for treatment.poor families.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Pat - I can see why you had a meltdown......... and they didn't see how trashy their area was and how it made your home look. Well, now you have it back, so you're good :)
Betty - not sure what you mean by "heating coil" but the heating guy came by this morning, found out that there was NO insulation below my floor (2 floor joists were too far apart & wouldn't hold the insulation) so he took some insulation that he found under my home, and installed it properly. Should be no heating issues this winter.
I also asked him about the heat tape for my pipes as they were freezing each winter, and he asked me to call him the end of Sept or beg of Oct & he could look at it then. He said I shouldn't need to unplug the heat tape, nor flip a breaker to shut it off, because it starts up automatically. Also, that heat tapes have a life span of 10 years. It was in the mobile when I bought it in 2006. Since then the mobile was moved in 2016 (10 years, right?) and the next winter is when the pipes started to freeze. I'm in a much more open area than I was, in the Park, in Calgary. That will have something to do with it, too. For today, he only charged me $105, and had to come from another town, 1/2 hour away. I think that was being very generous of him. He'll wait for me to pay him when my pension comes in. This has been a costly month, with car repairs, and new tires, so I'm feeling the pinch.

Forgot my picture of me receiving prizes for my pie. $15 gift cert for a restaurant, and a basket of goodies.

I am here and all is well. I have been working on my cleanup of my garden area and just about done. I did buy about 30 plants today to replace the spring flowers. I will do that tomorrow. The town is still on overload because the hockey team won the Stanley Cup. My neighbor, who won the MVP, is from Canada. I will look him up Betty so you can tell me about where he is from.

Betty your garden looks lovely. So much work. But what would we do if we didn't garden or do crafts. There will be a lot of happy fathers this Father's Day because of your efforts. Pie looks good. One of Vern's favorite pies. My mother used to make him pies.

Susan, please take a photo of your pie. So fun for you that you are so involved.

Pat, you have a special place in heaven. I am amazed that they did that to you. Like Betty, it would have never gone to far here. But is over and done with. Now you can get on with your life.

Karen, the photo of you with the two new great grand-babies is priceless. Such great new about your cancer.

I have to take Emma for her afternoon walk. So far behind in the posts. Hugs to all of you.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Susan. That pie looks delicious. Congratulations.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, my orthopedic doctor told me that my right knee I had replaced back in 2006 needs to be replaced, as well as my left knee. Don't know if they will do both at once? Told me it would be a few months. Maybe September?

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I had my knees done seperately - left in Jan, and right in Sept, of 2017. Even though both were bad, the pain of two recovering knees wasn't recommended.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Of all the surgeries I have had, I would rather have another hip replacement. My first knee replacement was horrible.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

during our "class" for hip & knee replacements, the nurse said that hip replacements are easier to recover from than knee replacements.
My 1st knee replacement was horrible, too because it was in January and I couldn't get out to walk during the icy season. After summer when I was active & had my 2nd one in Sept, it was worlds easier. I would strongly suggest that the surgery happen After an active season so it's "healthier" & your recovery is easier.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Susan, hopefully this intervention with insulation will cure the problems. What a nice man to be willing to wait for the payment.

No surgery is easy, and all have risks. So far I have managed to avoid the knee & hip surgeries, hard to say how long!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Afternoon, was overcast today but nice for an outing with Sharon in Barrie.
I got 3 things done on a list of about 30..i have the young ones tomorrow so at 3 I will run into Midland and try and finish the list.

The 2 knees, ouch Lindakay, I have heard of someone having both done at once but how on earth would yo be able to do the exercises and get around? Although it would be all over at once.September would likely be a good time, summer over and back on your feet for Christmas. Thank goodness you will have someone around to watch over you..

Sharon, can just imagine the hoopla in Vegas and you community, will look him up. Such a young team, should be proud of themselves! That is a lot of plants, do you buy perennials? I bought 4 potato vines for a planter, guess because of time of year they were 4/$10. Will look him up, interesting to see if he is in Susan’s area or mine..

Susan that pie looks delicious..can see how proud you are of it and not a wonder. Where is the gift certificate for? When I said wire/coil is because that is what we used..nice that he said you could pay later this month, only a few weeks away. Know it was costly but had to be done, now you will worry less about the winter coming on and Lordy that won’t be that far away.. sshhh shouldn’t be taking about that.

Pat, let’s hope with all the work and climbing etc to paint you don’t hurt yourself.

Soon my end, picked up the rug, so not like it,I told Caleb my grandson who just moved into his own place he could have it but i might give him the new one unless it grows on me in the next day.

Went on a hunt, primarily to Michaels for a tombstone top floral piece, was told when Covid started they let the floral designer go and no longer make them, was sure i saw them last time i was there. What to do, what to do, most flowers or at least those on sale were $9.99 Canadian with 40% off still, 23 of them and the floral piece came to mega $$, let’s see how I do with making it myself..busy,busy tomorrow so I will shortly shut the pump off in the pond, will refill tomorrow, i will take a hot bath, put my jammies on and start the floral piece..wish me luck.
