Holding Sharon close to my heart. Her heart must be heavy right now. She knows she is doing the right thing for Inuk but it still weighs heavy. I so know how she feels.
Best/Worse/What did I learn today?? Garden time, let’s sit and enjoy our gardens, decks and great company..all welcome!!
Afternoon everyone, just came in, perfect day
Not much sun come through the trees so I cut 6 wheel barrels worth of limbs, yes I’m aching so stopping but i stopped before the major pain. Looks so much nicer…
Must be a weekend for visiting Betty, yesterday Cathy and her mom dropped in, in the afternoon Joe my plow guy came to see how is was doing, Shannon just brought me an old window as I said I was looking for some, she stayed a bit..not sure i told you a n Irish couple are making an Irish Pub, minus the drinks for right now, Shannon is a professional chef and Thomas a painter, lovely couple..she knocked and knocked and no answer finally she said who would be in the house on a day like this and gardens like I have
Oops someone at the door
Was. Marie, they went to a market and brought me strawberries and cherries, Lordy at $9.99 a lb i wouldn’t have bought any. I will have a nice treat after my salads, ham and corn. Hmmm maybe I’ll have a banana split.
Dianne,we had same kind of day, would liked to sit out and enjoy tonight but skitters are hungry. Haven’t been shopping at Foodland, can’t afford their prices.i usually shop buying sale items but didn’t yesterday because of Roger’s situation..glad you have Bell, wonder how many will be switching.have the deer been back.
Can you believe Grayson is 10 months old.
Betty, you guys made national news about the major power outage and loss of internet all over Canada. They didn't know the reason why.
Was all of Canada Lindakay..should make the news..nobody is saying what went wrong.still having trouble.. watching tv, every 5 or 6 words then I lose the same amount of words..should just shut tv off and call it a day..thank good for internet
How is Todd tonight
Oh yum!!! Yeah, would not have to coax me either!!
Todd is still doing good.
That looks yummy.
Davesgarden is doing goofy stuff again. My home page shows "new messages" but I have seen the SAME message from LindaK several times.
Susan Tallulah_B has sent me an email saying she can't get into this thread, it comes up as active but can't access. She says her membership is active. Anybody got any ideas?
Good luck. Betty and I have both had problems. We contacted Melody, and she said there are no problems.
Keep trying.
Ok, I sent a dmail to admin, hopefully they will be able to problem solve.
Absolutely beautiful Pat.
Pat i would have said if you were in Canada it’s Roger’s still acting up
Was trimming down trees 8n the very back because it was my list of to do’s, squatters didn’t know I’m on a Mission, they were on me just feeding themselves so decided there are chores to be don’t in the front yard, likely they won’t like the hot son.
Grabbed my coffee, best I don’t sit. Yep
Flower gardens are beautiful Pat, not much colour in my yard, wish they were like yours.
Off to sand musk oak chair
Thanks, they are coming along but I desperately need to be hardscape in there of some kind for a walkway. My neighbor has a tendency to walk my walkway and it becomes muddy, let alone with it rains. Remember, our average for the year is only 8 inches!! LOL NOTHING but tumbleweed & sagebrush grow here without added irrigation.
Hi - back in. I never got a message about my subscription, but I knew it was due. When they let me know how much, I will pay it, of course
As for Rogers - my home & cell phones are with Fido, which is owned by Rogers. I got an email today saying they apologize, I will get a credit, and some people couldn't even get 911 Emergency service. Here's what the CEO said:
"I want to share what we know about what happened on Friday. We now believe we’ve narrowed the cause to a network system failure following a maintenance update in our core network, which caused some of our routers to malfunction. We disconnected the specific equipment and redirected traffic, which allowed our network and services to come back online over time as we managed traffic volumes returning to normal levels."
ok, paid up to Sept 8th, 2023

Oh that is nice!!! I look forward to getting my living room back someday and putting furniture in it!
Oh Susan, glad you are back with us, it’s odd that they are not advising if subscription renewals like they once did. Omg Susan, it’s beautiful, looks like a really big set, can all 3 pieces go in same room? How did you come across this beauty?
Bet you are counting the days Pat til your home is your own,, i love being. On my own, yes makes it harder with everything going up but just love the solitude, to do exactly what I want to do. NOT that I wouldn’t give the world to have my hubby back, just learned how to survive alone.
Accomplished all but 1 to do, I am proud of what I accomplished this weekend.
Got a call a few hours ago, my nephew and his team of workers is coming on Tuesdayi/Wednesday..they are calling for rain and if it does he will bring shingles, his lifting machine and bin for shingles so if all goes to plan I will have a new roof by weekend..all that money and won’t even notice, a roof is a roof. Now if only they would come do front window, surely it can’t take that long to sandwich 2 panes of glass..can hardly see out of the front window now that the glass panes have air in between.
Even got some pieces done on Sharon’s Piece.. I am feeling so bad for her..she is hurting big t8me..
Glad you are back with us Susan. That is a beautiful sofa.
Betty, is it just new shingles you need? Do they need to replace the plywood too?
Hope no all roof, hoping just shingles
Looks like a small house but with all the decks it takes a lot of shingles ant capping
Overworked, now i can’t sleep, wide awake and Ziggy is beside me wanting to pet him..
I don't like it, when I am so tired, and can't sleep.
Hope you get some sleep soon
We were 109 today and it was actually hot to me. Usually I can find shade but it was even hot in the shade. I had dinner at my daughters. Both granddaughters were there and it was a lovely family visit.
My housekeeper has not been here for 4 weeks. She had a sister killed in a trucking accident st the trucking company yard and one week after that her mother died in Salvador. She and her husband have two sons in college and her mother was a walking ATM ..
Betty I am so sorry For Sharon's loss. I still cry when I think of Cecil and it has been close to 8 months. You are one busy lady cutting down those limbs. How do you cut them. On Thursday I have my garden helper here and I run around cutting, dead heading and such and he goes right behind me and picks everything up. Cutting is the easy part. Cleaning up is the hard and you are usually doing it when you are tired.
Susan, that is a lovely sofa and loveseat. Looks very comfortable.
Pat, you are an angel. Vern has been gone 3 years and I am so used to living by myself it would be hard to have someone in my space. Vern's son is here but he spends the majority of his time upstairs, which is bigger than his condo. He has lived by himself for over 30 years and except for coming down to eat, read the paper and do laundry, he is usually upstairs. Housekeeper says he is keeping it clean. He does empty the garbage, make sure laundry room fridge is stocked with soda and empties the dishwasher, if used. Looks like he will be her for at least another 6 months. We have engaged an attorney.
Linda, I am so pleased Todd is improving. Your area was on the news again this morning about the border crossings. I really just do not get it.
I am still playing hide and seek with the tomatoes worms but everyone has had their share.
I have a doctor appointment Tuesday to get prescriptions written for refills. Such a rip off. I do have a few items growing on my forehead I need the dermatologist to look at bu am going to schedule that after by birthday. Turn 80 on August 4th and family coming the weekend before so I do not want big scabs al over my forehead and probably nose. I also have a strange on in my hair line and I always have a spot on the top of my head. And my hair on the right side is getting really thin at the side of the forehead.
Betty you are getting rain this week. We are actually suppose to get rain in about 7 to 10 days.
Take care everyone and good morning to the majority of you. Hugs, Sharon
Morning, it’s not sure if it wants to rain or be a sunshine day.
Disaster area in the craft room so will finish my coffee and head downstairs to clean as Ezra is coming at 10..Lord knows what he will want to make? You
Been up since 5:30am talking to Sharon who is not doing well, trying console her bit words don’t help so I’m just chatting along with her.
She wants to be alone today, vet will arrive at her home to send Inuk over Rainbow Bridge just after lunch..Trying to talk her into letting me come over.was afraid of this day seeing she deals with mega depression…prayers please.
Wow Sharon, 106°,guess there will be little you can do outside.
Dermatologists, do they freeze the growths off? Sorry to hear you haven’t gotten much further Re condo..not sure why insurance wouldn’t be paying..insurance premium . Although Vern’s son has a beautiful place to live i am sure he would like his own things..something is wrong with the homeowners group for sure..know they are no longer the same people but contractual agreement come first.
Will there be a happy birthday party for your 80th.?
Lindakay how is Todd?
Sorry you have to get a lawyer Sharon.
Todd is doing good. He just went out to start the mustang that has been sitting for awhile. Battery is dead, so he needs to get it charged.
Supposed to be 108 today. Not going out unless I have to.
Sharon, I hope your Bday is wonderful with lots of family celebrations! That sounds like a lot of skin concerns! Is this something you have had previous issues with?
Betty, my prayers are with your sister Sharon. I have never had the agony of scheduling and waiting, even when I had those difficult decisions to make. I pray she will find comfort in your presence. Inuk has lived a long and happy life. I am sure he has LOTS and lots of offspring that have gone on to successful show ring performances AND beloved pets. I hope that knowledge brings her some comfort.
Linda, is the mustang Todd's regular driver, or a pet project? I loved horses but my Sweet Ben always said he preferred his ponies under the hood. I am happy to hear Todd continues to make progress.
Welcome back Susan, happy to hear you resolved your access problems.
Karen, eagerly awaiting your home buyer update news.
Among other cars, the 1997 Mustang was his regular driver. I have a 2019 dodge Durango. The Mustang hasn't been driven since he retired last October. He would go out and start it at least once a week, but for some reason the battery is dead. He bought this battery just about a month before he went into the hospital. At $170.00, it shouldn't be dead.
I would take my receipt and head back to place of purchase Lindakay yikes 108, i think I still like our yearly weather, maybe a dozen of days we have to stay in other than that we can take advantage of winter activities… Todd must be feeling better if he is checking on his baby, back in the house he goes…
I haven’t stopped..as i sit here my head is so heavy, maybe a nap is in order..I need cookies
Pat, she wanted be be alone while it was being done..I keep looking at the clock, she said it was being done between 1:30-2:30.. I’d I don’t have contact with her by 4 I will take a ride over.
My Sweetheart did love his cars! He never really had anything special after we were married other than his Jeep J10 pickup that he loved and I despised! LOL Linda, the battery will certainly be under warrantee, it has been such a short time. The dealer may say that if it takes a charge, then there is nothing wrong with it.
Speaking ONLY for myself, sometimes I THINK I want to be alone and when someone shows up, I realize I did need their company. At other times.... yeah, I wish I had been left alone.
I came on to check we had heard from Karen yet.
I am trying to piece a quilt together & have it delivered before noon tomorrow. My friend made all the blocks, in the hoop (very similar process to paper piecing) and wanted to have it ready for longarm before she left town. She ran out time & asked for help. AFTER this project, I am buying CLIPS. I have lots of puncture wounds!
Heart is Heavy and tears are burning
Forgot Inuk’s final photo
Won’t let me post
Sharon - ♫♪Happy Birthday♪♫
Betty - sorry to hear of Inuk's passing. She must be devastated.
btw, Betty - it's only 2 pieces. The couch with, and without, the center piece flipped down. As long as they match my current of 63" and 87" wide, they'll fit into the current space. I've gotten my current set for sale for $100. I get that, and it will be 1/2 the price of my newer set :)
Making some new curtains for my bedroom 2 windows. I've had a bolt of fabric that an upholsterer said would be perfect for curtains, and I do need to replace what I have there now.
It is going to look really spiffy!
Well it looks lovely Susan, will someone deliver it to you? They will be heavy curtains, might keep light out.
Quite a storm moved through, Ziggy is outside somewhere..guess i will doing my every 15 minute check till he comes home.
I’d like to use bad word, Roger’s tv is down..
Any news Karen.
Betty your storm is moving in on me. Lots of T&L in the forecast.
My heart aches for Sharon - I so know how she feels.
I hope Karen soon lets us know what she heard today. It's like she has this huge family of sisters all clucking and concerned for her.
I am going to post this now as I am having problems with my IP and it's not even Rogers.
Has anyone heard from Judy ?
LK I was so happy for you and Todd. He seems to be recouping very well.
Judy got home yesterday. Said they got her blood pressure down, but she was in a lot of pain. She was doing nothing but rest.
Praying for Sharon. It's never easy making that decision.
Todd is doing really good. Still moving slowly, but is getting up more and moving around.
