Afternoon,
Sorry to hear you are so unwell Lindakay, the new meds not working? You are so far away from your doctor..do you have a hospital in your community? Did doc say it was rest you needed? Drats that is not good.
I’m with Pat Susan, why in the world with all going on would he think he could park it in the drive? do you not have a peace-bond? He would be breaking it for sure..did I understand it right, you are running hydro to the rev..let Naomi plug him in..would say something on the last few words best I not, my thoughts went elsewhere lol
Just know Susan we are all praying things work out
Debbie I saw Sharon and forgot to ask how many puppies she has had in one breeding..will ask. Those puppies are darlings..because Sharon raises American Eskimo’s all official document have Eskimo related themes..good luck with picking yours.
Sharon, were your neighbours satisfied with the work your gardener did on their property? Are you catching up with your gardening?
Dianne, likely something silly, had same and it was a bottle of pills that dropped in while I was looking through medicine cabinet so Darlene bought me a high one and I love it..height is perfect.I'm with you about 2 washrooms..Greg was here Tuesday and I think he goes in and plays games while there..I went downstairs, when I came up he wanted to know why I was downstairs..
Karen, you forgot to say what project you were working on??
was up at 6:00, everything dusted vacuumed and head out for got groceries. Stopped at Home Depot to look at planters, only pansies in container, few veggie plant and that was about it. I ended up going the the little nursery down from Sharons, just bought one for now, I set it on the driftwood frame, frame looked sad without a plant, pretty but heck $30 then add 13% taxes wow. The one and for the life of me I can’t remember the name but it was $50..have to tell boys Mothers Day next week 😁
Umm is saying it’s hungry have left over bacon, tomato and fixings fat does not agree with me..Tuesday when I had a farmers breakfast I had to take the meds I had when all I did was vomit and slept for an hour or so and was ok..weighed myself today, staying the same, a pound or 2 up then down..pleased with that
This morning I had a list of about a dozen things more than 1/2 is shut down..was $1.00 then $1.25 and now most of what I bought was $1.50..still a good deal.. at the end of the aisle were solar lights making a barrier, so I asked attendant if I could buy some and she said yes...thought I’d buy 6 and set them in the very back where I’m planting things to hopefully hide the neighbours parking lot.. as well bought a big faux planting pot and a few packages of seed..got to the til and the lady was just hanging up, said no gardening things could be sold so I’d have to put those things k
You know when I walk the gardens I see so much that reminds me of all of you, lots given to me in swaps, plants from some, chimes etc. Memories are nice.
Just came in from outside, bought 10 more perennial and split about 20 or so, not done but shoulder said it was..
My work day for mother’s Day if I can have it (re Covid restrictions) is getting the trio column water units operational and move the stained glass bench moved, garden keeps growing somehow.think it’s when I edge them I take up over 3-4”, do that for 20 years and wow
My plan was to take covering off the muskoka chair set out front, same with riding lawnmower but looks like rain any minute so I will go downstairs and embroider trailer trash on canvas..think I’ve enough for a pillow
to make myself a BLT without the bacon. Lol
Hope you are having a good day
Best/Worse/What did you learn today? Everyone welcome, a thread where all are welcomed..
I'm thinking my next project will be the tuffet I have had a kit for the longest time. I signed up and paid for a class forever ago in MI but things kept me from attending. Pretty clear directions I think I can manage it. The man who did my last long arm job, had one he'd made and we talked about it so if I get stuck, I'll call on him.
Hubby is out back making a bunch of jerky. Some for our new sailor, some for upcoming grad party and some for a special order.
The lumber for deck rebuild was delivered today so that is his next project. I sure hope he gets some help with it.

Cold out there today. I had to wear both my hoodie and coat when I walked the dogs. t's quite windy also.
The Napanee hospital called and I managed to get an appointment for a CT Monday morning. I'll be so glad to get it and find out what's going on.
Oh Deb the boys are real chunkers - very cute chunkers.
Karen did you find the cost of the wood was way up ? Here the costs of wood for building have more than doubled.
Betty I can read in small doses. My headche just starts to pound.
OK Pat how many jobs did you get done today ? Lots I bet.
Feel like a nap but I think I will tough it out and go to bed early.
Just resting, because that's all the energy I have to do. I have a follow up with family Dr. Tuesday. Any specialist are 160 miles away in San Antonio. We have a hospital here, but it sucks and I refuse to go there.
Breaks my heart LIndakay to know how unwell you are..sounds like heart? Know it's frustrating when you’ve so much you would like to do. Big sigh
If you keep this up Karen I’m going to start calling you Pat. Lol
Saw tuffet footrest done and love the look, am sure you will do fine, likely a utube video on it..are you tearing down an existing deck? Could some of the kids come help, when I say kids i mean young adults..everyone in 30’s to me is a kid
Glad you have your appointment Dianne, Lord knows what that fall caused, will someone go with you?
Debbie, Sharon had 2 dogs bred with frozen semen, one last week and the other Friday. She said that she has had up to 6 pups, once 7 but realistically 5 although her last two breedings resulted in 1 pup, the other mom lost hers.
Dianne, yes wood is very expensive. Had deck been built properly the first time we wouldn't have to replace. It's one we knew before we bought.
Walt will do most of it and it's his preference. He will have some help but if it is like front deck...it'll be him. Kids in school, Bryan at work. Jess will help some she'd rather do that than house work. LOL
Think you will have fun Karen..almost like Dresden plate method

It is 90 degrees here today. 4 degrees cooler than yesterday. I had no intentions of cleaning the waterfall behind the Koi pond but I removed all of the plants and washed down the waterfall. Then I had to clean the Koi pond. I went behind the Koi pond to deadhead a geranium and three hours I am done with my project. So I still have snapdragons to deadhead in the front but will either do that tomorrow or Monday.
Our weather will be cooling down into the high 80s Monday. I have two very large areas of geraniums that will need deadheading later in the week. The blooms on the red one are as big as a tea cup saucer. I feed them Ortho rose food with an insecticide in it to kill the cabbage worms.
Susan, hold your head high and realize you are smarter than Bob. He is just an old fool. When Vern first started having his dementia problems, his daughter took him to physical therapy one time and he would not stop staring at the young girls. They ask him not to come back because of it. And one time he was in the hospital and they told me when I arrived that he had wet the bed many times and were having problems with him in that manner. I walked into his hospital room and there was this pretty young girls getting him cleaned up and redressed. I laughed, tuned around and told the nurse to get him a big guy to change him and that problem would stop and it did. He was always a looker but the dementia such down his shield.
Karen, I have no idea what you are going to do. I will look it up.
Dianne, so pleased you will get your C scan Monday. And remember they will only tell you something right at the time of the C scan if it is really bad and they have called an ambulance. That is the way it is in the US anyway.
We have 3 grandchildren graduating fro high school this year. Both brothers and myself. Two live here and one lives in my home town which is about 186 miles from here. So I have reserved the recreation area near our tennis courts and all three families will have a get together for their graduation. And my sister is coming and she will be here the same date. So all four of us will be together for the first time since Vern died which will be 2 years this month.
Betty, it is hard to put in my head that you cannot garden because of the cold when we are in the high 80s and 90s.
Pat, I would have to think twice before I loaned them my car. She is an accident just waiting to happen. Bad luck. She could probably order a headlight cover on line and get it in a few days.
The photo is one of two Blue Spruce trees I purchased at Christmas. They were $49 each but I felt I could decorate them for Christmas for the back landscape and then give each of my brothers one because they live in the Nevada mountains. They have doubled in size.
Time for me to walk the dogs for their second walk. All is well. Fred did a good job at the neighbor's landscape and he knew he had better or Mother Winter would make him pay big time.
Hugs to you all.
Hi everyone - quiet day here at home. Went out into the yard & did some cleanup & planted some flowers in planters.
Also moved stuff into the shed & shelter that didn't need to be out in the yard. I can DO this on my own, with neighbours & friends helping. I have a lot of support here, and with you ladies 💕 Thank you for standing by me through this.
Dreary day with rain in my neighbourhood, at least the high winds moved 9n, thought it was going to carry the house away..
I’ve worked all morning on trying to make/organize projects I want to do over the week seeing it’s rain, rain and more rain. Grrr
Lindakay, are you getting more strength?
Yes Sharon it’s hard to believe I’m freezing and you are cooking..weatherman says May will be much like April, cold and wet. dementia sure can give them different personalities..my grandfather wanted to fight.. wonderful you are getting together, all be safe! When will your neighbours return to see how great Fred did?
Susan, best thing is keeping busy so you don’t keep thinking..you will find much more relaxed once court date is behind you.
About an 1/2 hour left on the pillow, found an old partially rotten bird feeder, came from Cordel, a dg friend, believe her name was Debbie ..Lordy must be over a decade but I do want to bring it back to life, also laminating 2 piece of wood, not so sure it will work but worth a try, want to paint a garden scene and out it in on of the gardens... so that is my day
Going to have lunch, if I sit much longer that will be the finish of my being energetic!
Good afternoon.
Looks like you never run out of things to do.
Yes, I am feeling better today. Getting much easier to breathe.
Glad you are feeling a bit better LK. Your body is telling you what you need to do.
Oh Betty I was skimming quickly and I thought you posted you were gong to finish your eggs benedict. lol My mouth started to water - it's 1 of my favourite dishes. Sometimes I used to make it for dinner/supper.
It has rained, snowed and now the sun is shining but there is quite a wind.
Kai is a counter surfer supreme. I just heard a noise and he was wandering around with my cell in his mouth. I am going to put double sided tape on the counter tops - that should stop him or at least make him think twice about jumping up.
Was perusing the Herschners catalogue and found a really neat crocheted afghan. Tempted to order the kit as the colours are very pretty.
Good for Walt Karen. I know you will be watching him closely.
Susan I am so happy to read you are getting things done by yourself. It's amazing how much you can accomplish when you set your mind to it. And that reminds me I had better start up the generator and let it run for a bit. I only needed it once this winter.
Going to take advantage of the sunshine and walk the TH.

Mmmmmm Eggs Benedict. Pretty close to the top of my list. Prefer to have at home so I can have all the sauce I want. Hollandaise is also good to dip artichoke leaves in. It how they were the first time I had them. My neighbor introduced me.
White sauces, gravies, hollandaise, all that stuff does NOT call my name. Now, anything brimming in sugar??? THERE YA GO!!! lol Scrambled is really the only way I LIKE eggs, preferably with cheese, meat, onions & peppers. I will eat cold hard boiled and deviled eggs but .... not my fav things.
That Kai is a character!! Good thing you love him!!!
Good to hear Lindakay, now if you continue to rest you will gain more strength..do you have a project you can and spend a bit of time on to pass the day?
Dianne, no eggs Benedict for me, no like, Jeff used to make it for Roger but not I..I’m with Pat, partial to sweets although I sure love a good western..love good old fashion breakfast but bacon/sausages do not agree with me, think next time I go grocery shopping I will pick up ham.herschners have beautiful kits, what were you th8nk8ng of getting? Kia sure is entertaining
Karen hollandaise sauce does sound great for a dip..love when I go somewhere and they have artichoke and yet it’s something I’ve never bought.
Calling it a day, ran my tub and once I get the garden dirt off me I think I’ll have toast and honey/hot chocolate and call it a day..sure wish I’d have made something sweet to eat. Big sigh
I did get the pillow done (would post but some might find it offensive-not meant to be) and got 3 hrs of yard work done listening to 2 dogs barking continuously, know dogs bark and I don’t mind but both for 3 hrs is a bit much..didn’t say anything but if it continues will have to say something. I edged a good part of one of the gardens and edged the cement stairs as they were almost covered with Sid, quite the job, was going to wash them down but it started to rain.
Omg my brother in law who I had words with re politics who I talked to a few times a month before and who never missed calling on my birthday in 30 years since Roger died called to today..I thought it was strange, after an hour he said he had a hamper full shortening and mending, would I mind doing it, life is too short so said of course so good few days getting it done.
Sharon called, she had an accident, nobody hurt, no damage to other vehicle but her vehicles is minus a bumper and a few other bruises..could have been worse.
If it wasn’t raising I’d go take photo’s of Marie’s garden..she has beautiful flowers planted.told her I should have planted one more tree to balance out her hanging baskets..problem is the health food restaurant next door to her park their car right next to the garden and so she does not get to enjoy unless it’s early morning, after hours or on days they close .. to bad they aren’t more approachable, I’d offer them my driveway so Marie could make a little sitting area next to garden..that being said I did put a table and 2 chairs on my side for she and her hubby but I’ve never seen them use it.
Best I take that bath, water is now likely cold 😂
Betty, I can't believe you would make an offensive pillow, or anything else. Not unless someone ordered something a little risque
Someone ordered it, not really offended but someone might feel slighted
Well, feeling slighted is not the worst thing that can happen to you.
I back washed the KOI pond this afternoon, early, and cleaned it again. Wind is blowing again. That is May in the desert.
Linda, I am so pleased you are getting better. Not being able to breathe is a horrible feeling. Dry air is suppose to be good for individuals with lung problems. I had pneumonia once. I went to work feeling fine and by 2pm I was sicker than I had ever been. Heart was racing and Dr. sent me for an x-ray but gave me a big shot because she didn't know what it was but she felt the shot could not hurt.
Diane, My female schnauzer, Emma, would wait for Vern to get done with dinner. He would usually push the chair back when he got up. If I didn't clean up the table immediately and was not paying attention to the table, Emma would jump up on the chair and then the table and get what she could before we caught her. Got to be hard to have a dog that can just get on their hind legs and look round.
Betty, I love the way you rest. You do more on a resting day than most individuals do in a week. I am not in to sauces or sweets. But give me vinegar, garlic, salt, anything like that and I am a happy camper. One way I like eggs is over medium on a hamburger, bun and all.
Las Vegas opened up to 80% yesterday. Oregon closed down big time. My cousins live there and they are not happy campers.
I will be doing quite a bit of deadheading tomorrow.
Susan, hope all is going well. I saw your post on Facebook about your mother's birthday in Heaven.
Time to walk the dogs and settle down for the evening. I will have to find a movie or something to watch. Hugs to you all. Shsron
My Stanley can raise up on hind paws and puts his front paws on table & can barely peek over the top. Unless you support him when you hold him, I swear he stretches out and can almost reach the floor while hanging from your hands! He is such a funny kitty.
I have a sewing class an hour away in the morning. Wish I didn't. My sisterMarie wanted me take it with her.
She came over & we worked out in the #2 shed/barn for a few hours this morning.. We moved stuff around a little, grouped all the yard sale stuff & son showed up and stowed a few things up in the loft of the barn for us. I want to be able to empty 1/2 of that shed for Andrea AFTER she gets that miserable trailer completed. Sorry, but I am not giving up an inch of my barn until she has that trailer fixed and the stuff off my patio. That trailer has sat on my property now for 3 years. Enough already!!
yes Sharon - my mom was a lovely person. She could light up a room with her smile. She passed away Dec 26, 2017 at the great age of 98
Afternoon, rainy day so decided to make the best of it..was
Pat what kind of class are you taking... things like procrastination I.e. your trailer drive me nuts..I rarely think about what I should do because if it’s a to do it gets done lol.
Dianne, your test was today?
lindakay you resting well..is it humid where breathing makes it worse
Susan, hugs. It’s times like this one would love to have mom to talk to..
Sharon You have our winds, Lordy if it doesn’t warm up I will have to do mine again.
Hard to believe Las Vegas is opening 80%, will be interesting to see how Covid situation is over next month or so..I will have to go see what restrictions Oregon has..
Although we have been in emergency stay at home I don’t think our numbers are getting better, think perhaps worse because of variants, especially the one from India..watch the news and it must be overwhelming for them, few have not had a member of their family die.. imagine they sent all countries the vaccines and didn’t do their country first, so I heard.
up at 6am made a coffee and went to tackle that basket of shortening and mending Robert dropped off, just stopped for lunch and figure I’ve another 1 1/2 hours of sewing to finish it off then I will vacuum downstairs as every time I come upstairs my slippers are dragging threads. Decided an easy lunch vegetable soup/crackers.
Once chores are done I’ll sit and go through what I need to try out a new recipe for Tuesday nights dinner, June tried it and said she wasn’t all together thrilled with it but didn’t use lean hamburger and I’ll use homemade spaghetti sauce for my topping over the potatoes..we will see, guess I should have made it a least once before feeding to company. My sister Charlene was making cheesecakes to sell to pass her time so ordered one, my brother is dropping off baking to Sharon so will drop mine off..that will be tomorrow’s desert.
Sharon had an accident yesterday (everyone except vehicle ok) so her Covid shot is tomorrow and no car..I’ll pick her up and she can drop me off, then when she is finished she can pick me up and I’ll drive her home that way I also get the cheesecake.
Today is anniversary of my dad’s death, miss him terribly, when listening to country and western music of days gone by I always remember him singing and yodelling as he enjoyed playing guitar..18 years, hard to believe he has been gone so many years..
As for my projects the old rotten bird feeder has been given a new lease on life, came from Deborah (Cordel G.A). I do cherish all the swap items I was sent or gifted and if I can in anyway repair I do. As for the laminating, think it will work out..this morning gave it a tad of dap to fill in where I joined it, it’s drying..then I decided to get creative with the dap, thinking I’ll try and pain back yard gardens I added dap to create clouds, cement patio stones, texture to give dimension to rock around pond..what a mess.. it’s going to be primitive so doesn’t matter, just to entertain myself.
Best I get back to work, want to call Robert to come get his sewing, will call mel’s Friend to tell her that her pillow is ready...
Big sigh, can feel my energy waning so better give myself one more push
Before and after photo of the bird feeder
Betty bird feeder has a new lease on life for sure.
You have been busy. Glad you could save the birdhouse.
Yes, it's been very humid here. We had rain day before yesterday, and then we hit 97 degrees.
Likely doesn’t help breathing..pneumonia, dangerous illness when not properly diagnosed.
Got update on my nieces husband Phil, he is a tad younger than my boys
Providing an update.
While fil oxygen is still the same, his fever was at 108f or 42.2 c and they have him on a machine that is keeping his temp at 37.2c or 98.96 f. he has multiple infections that high doses of antibiotics are not having any effect. His kidneys are deteriorating and may need dialysis which will be very dangerous due to the infections. Today there was blood when cleaning the tubes and they believe he may have a gastrointestinal hemorrhage and have stopped the blood thinners they were giving him for the blood clots in his legs. They have put him on antacids hoping this may lessen the hemorrhage.
Oh Betty so sorry to hear Phil is doing so poorly.
Beautiful indeed Karen, you are so ahead of me, need some sun to go along with all this rain and maybe I’ll see growth and get to share my pretties with you all.
Sleep escapes me. Tonight..I’m on my second movie
Opening, ent to put recycling to the curb in the rain.. am sure we all will be dancing up a storm with be finally get a sunshine day.
Well it’s Tuesday dinner bight, won’t have to start the process till 2
Must ask sharon if Bernie delivered my cheesecake to her, if not then guess I’ll have to come up with different sweet
Will have my bath, make a coffee and enjoy then vacuum and dust family room and craft room downstairs...only a few pieces for wash so that is off my list..was just thinking, as I put dap on my wood piece I think I should be sanding the piece then dust and vacuum
What living alone everything stays as is and with regular daily tasks not much cleaning..getting to the point that the weeds in the gardens are minimal.
Have to bring my car to sharon at 11
Behind me in the back bush I found a patch of trilliums, dug one up, it survived and this year ready to bloom with many blooms..at some point today think I’ll put my goops on and go see if I can find more but with neighbour clearing his lot they will be bull dozed down..wish me luck
Today’s another day one waits for fr news of loved ones going through life threatening illness, didn’t sleep well last night so didn’t hurt my feeling to get up at 5:30a.
So sorry to hear the update Betty.
Sending lots of prayers.
Take a nap if you need too.
Still raining..
SHARON just got her Covid shot..have to laugh at everyone’s excitement at getting it..
Robert picked up his sewing alterations, did up step 1 of recipe, can’t cook it till 3pm for 30-40 minutes then it’s making the mashed potatoes and mozzarella cheese and spaghetti sauce topping so have it all timed..ohh almost forgot about cooking croissants.
How are all your days going? Hope you have sunshine
Get the "vaccine" and all the followups, but still have to wear masks & can't go anywhere - don't understand that.
And now I hear about something called "virus shedding" from those who are recently vaccinated. WHAT? There's a store in AB that has barred anyone who has gotten the shot in the past 4 weeks, because of 'virus shedding'.
Havent heard that before Susan, yes we have to do same after vaccine, it safeguards you from likely dying..
Still feel safer having had it..won’t change till almost everyone is vaccinated..after that guess it’s live til you die..

I will have to look that up, I have not heard of it.
I haven't heard that either.
Drs with WHO have said there's something called a "herd immunity" whereby if the majority of a group are vaccinated, it's like the whole group is. I've heard the term before, has anyone else here?
Herd immunity and COVID-19 (coronavirus):
https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/coronavirus/in-depth/herd-immunity-and-coronavirus/art-20486808
Herd immunity occurs when a large portion of a community (the herd) becomes immune to a disease, making the spread of disease from person to person unlikely. As a result, the whole community becomes protected — not just those who are immune.

Morning...raining once again..been playing with the thoughts of going to see mom,a 2hr drive, stay a couple of hours and drive home..all while masking.
Best I not just think of it, just do it or I will change my mind..Sharon said she can’t come with me , guess I could ask my brother..we will see
Go for it. It will do you both good.
Susan, I have heard of the herd group. Texas says not enough people have had it here.
https://www.statesman.com/story/news/politics/politifact/2021/04/19/texas-close-herd-immunity-gov-greg-abbott-thinks-so/7238425002/
Yes, I have heard of herd immunity. It is what makes it possible for "some kids" to not take the polio or small pox shot & other immunizations. Because the rest of the kids have their shots, it reduces the risk of the non-immunized kids of catching these diseases. HOWEVER, due to the growing tread of parents NOT getting immunizations for their kids, some diseases are making a come back.
I know there are risks with taking the COVID immunizations, however, I do believe that it reduces to spreading of the disease. We all have to weigh the risks and decide for ourselves. I got mine & feel "safer" for having done so.
