No message like that here either.
So sorry to here about Helene.
Will keep her in our prayers.
Susan, glad to hear you guys are trying to work out your problems.

Betty, loved th video you sent via Facebook Messenger. And I thought I looked so groovy when I am dancing in the kitchen. Maybe you could and we could record each other and not show anyone else and see if we are "groovy" or old fools.

Vaccine #2 is under my belt and so far so good. Took a little over an hour. Funny thing happened on the way out. Opened the door and the high winds had started. A security guard walked over to me and asked if I need a cart ride to my car because it looked like the wind was going to blow me away. Guess I have gotten small enough, or maybe I look older than I think I do.

Linda, I have three hummers that have not left all winter.

Betty, so sorry about your friend. I spoke with my cousin in Gresham, Oregon this afternoon after getting my 2nd vaccine to let her know we were getting ready for our trip.

My eyes are not happy because there was so much dust blowing around it was hard to keep it out of my eyes.

You all take care, Good Morning Betty. Hugs, Sharon

Verona, ON

Kai slept in !!! Woo Hoo....... So no 4 am get up although I was awake by 5 and woke him up. I kept him up last night until after 11 so I think that helped. Also Kieran took Kai out for a walk for over an hour after school.

Sharon I am so glad you got your second shot. And now you have a trip to look forward to soon.

Well I was a wimp yesterday and let the wood stove die out and turned the oil on. My shoulder just couldn't handle any more movement. I miss Diesel - he used to carry in wood 1 block at a time.

Betty that must be a scary situation for your friend Helene. I am assuming none of them had the shot and didn't follow the rules for gatherings.

I am appalled by the Spring Break goings on in Florida and the motorcycle week in Daytona. The motorcycle event in Sturgis ended up having thousands of cases of covid all across the US..

The TH and I need to get out for a walk. I've had them in their yard right now..

Stay safe

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, had to look up to see if it was still morning..

Dianne, did make appointment for the doctor? Smart thinking using oil..is your tank full? I like you cannot believe those gatherings, as soon as #’s start to show progress these things major events are schedules.

You get confident with family dropping in, we area allowed 5 with social distancing but taking a chance..yesterday India dropped in, she is having trouble walking so phone me to ask me to come out and get a package, I stood quite a distance from her, once nice weather comes we can set outside with masks, and I’m more than excited and willing todo that..what I don’t understand is you can go to Walmart with strangers and it’s ok

Glad Sharon that you’ve had your 2nd shot and no after effects and smiling big time that you are planning a trip. As for the ride, how thoughtful he was to ask..you are right, “older people” or similar then I have to think I am old..guess when you still have a parent living and an aunt you think there is still a generation before it get to you.

Sharon and Lindakay lucky you with hummers so soon, I did have quite a few blue jays filling their tummies this morning.

Sharon, nothing worse than grit in your eyes, do you have a wash.

On a downer, thinking about Helene and the conversations we had when the doctor she worked with for 28 yrs closed office, wether or not she should take her pension earlier, got cleaning in my doctors office, think we worry too much and put things off when we truly have no control, enjoy while we can

Wish we, Linda, Suzanne and Rita could just pack our bags and go on a roadtrip

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I am going on a brief trip to Sumner to see my oldest Dana & wife Carrie. Last I saw them was October. I will only go for 3 days (4 hours away), not until later this month.

Yesterday, on the spur of the moment, I signed up for a beginner's quilt class. Marie wanted to go but wasn't feeling up to the drive. She had not had enough sleep, class got out at 8.30 PM and it was an hour drive home thru area with LOTS of deer. I decided that I was sure I could learn some tips and maybe overcome questionable cutting habits etc. It was worth it to me to get Marie into a quilting class and keep her safe. We did not stay to do OUR cutting of the fabric but did WATCH and listen, etc. Marie was not sure she wanted to use the fabric I grabbed as I went out the door, not doing any cutting last night meant she could be mindful of her choices when she was more mentally alert.

You are a good sister Pat, couldn’t you have taught her? Guess we all can learn from a class..was tempted joining an online class.

That will be a nice trip for you and family will be glad to see you..maybe you can drive 1/2 way and have breakfast at Cracker Barrel for me lol

Taking a break from working on the panel SHARON bought me last year that I cut and sewed in borders while having egg salad sandwich for lunch seeing on sewing thread we are all talking eggs..lol

Pat it is Lara Spencer on GMA - it's on ABC. I don't know what her show is called but I think that is on the Discovery Channel. She sets up 2 couples at a Flea market to find something to purchase then repurpose the item.

It's a lovely day here BUT the mud !!!!! At least the TH's area is gravel.

Betty do we even have a Cracker Barrel here in Ontario ?

Oil tank is full. I keep it topped up just for times like this.

Victoria Harbour, ON

I love that show Dianne, but the $$ they can spend has to be fixed, I often shake my heard at what they buy for their allotted $$, doubtful they can buy 1 for what they have to spend (my opinion only) but they sure are creative, reminds me of Pat

One thing on our road trip we always wanted to do is the longest garage sale/antique show in the world..thing is I would have to have a truck to follow us home.

Dianne, Kempenfest in Barrie had a really nice antique and repurposingarea.

I only wish we had a Cracker Barrel, so love sitting, ordering my meal knowing that l would end up finishing my meal and buying something to take home after urging from Debbie..each tote I take out I have memories of our time together.

Mud city here as well, worked on a piece for a little while then got chills and climbed into bath then bed, as I lay here I’m timing pump, 3 minutes, just hate this water situation.

Linda messaged me, today is a very difficult day, feels there is no purpose...me I think I am mentally exhausted, amber alert came on, wants till 1/2 way through I realized it was a real alert, girl 7 picked up by a Mercedes..so it’s fighting the noise that is zapping my energy. Rita called, wants 2 more froggies, keep up I will have to make more

Now here goes trying sleeping when I’ve slept all day

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Ben had tinnitus, it is a pain. I occasionally get a mild case, & rarely, so I am lucky. I think mine is more related to water retention causing swelling.

Sounds like a fun show, I wonder if I can watch it on the computer somehow. I don't have cable. The only "premium" I have is Disney. I have it because son pays for it! LOL

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

I hve no side effects from my second vaccine. Thank you Heavenly Father. My whole family is so relieved that I sailed right through it.

Had a manicure and pedicure today and went to Sprouts, to get some sprouts. They had no sprouts. Figure that one. Came home in a rain storm that was just spitting a little bit of rain. Just enough to get my car all messed up along with my windows that I just got cleaned on Monday. I took the dogs for their walk at 4:30 in a gale with spitting rain. I just bundled in my heaviest coat and put on some gloves and we had a nice walk. Came home, backed some butternut squash and made some soup. But all of the squash did not come off of the skin, so I slathered it was butter and pigged out. Needless to say, I didn't need any soup, so I will finish it tomorrow.

Pat, so pleased you will be able to go see your family. Our trees are in full bloom and the wind is vicious. My sister in California said they got rain also. We usually get it the day after she does.

Dianne, so sorry your shoulder is giving you problems. Mud is not good. Hope you can get your garden helper to maybe get you some wood inside. Or call the fire department. I was amazed how they would come and help my friend when she was sick. Just play the "Little Old Lady" role. Works every time.

Betty, so sorry you are feeling the blues. You are not alone. Hopefully that light at the end of the tunnel is not another train coming at us and just the light at the end of the tunnel. My son-in-law had tinnitus. I will ask him how he got rid of it.

Good Morning Betty and I so pray you hsve a wonderful day. Dianne, Good Morning to you also.

First photo are my spider plants in the courtyard. Second is a pear tree in bloom.

I am plagued with tinnitus. It is so maddening at times. It never seems to stop. I've mentioned it to Dr. but as usual it is just ignored.

Verona, ON

Count me in with suffering from tinnitus, as well. Mine is so severe that I have to take medication for it. It sounds like there is a bevy of cicadas in my ear. My vertigo attacks get to such a supreme state that I vomit as well as wander around like a drunken sailor..

Kieran will certainly help bring in wood but he is only 16 and of course his life is busy. He walks 1 of the dogs a few times a week. He also has a PT job at Foodland. He is such a had working sweet kid. Just to show you an example of caring he is one time I was having the dizzies while we were walking down a hill to get to the bottom garden. He knew my balance so offered me his arm to help steady myself. How many 14 year old boys would do that ?

Betty that Amber alert can sure scare the pants off of you.. My cell phone started screaming and the TH went and hid. Wonder if the child was found.

Karen how are you feeling ? I was sent to a ENT doctor who the Rxd the med. Maybe you should ask your GP. I take Amitrip in a very small dose. Duke my dog was taken a stronger Amitrip dosage than I was. I still have bouts of it especially when I am sleep deprived.

LK are you back at the quilt store ?

Deb what are you up to these days ?

Pat Google or You tube Lara Spencer I am sure you will find something there.

Susan I hope things are still going well.

Stay safe.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Good morning everyone.
Yes, I am at the quilt shop almost daily. I not working on a quilt, I am turning in masks.

Happy birthday Susan. Hope you have a very special day.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, sun is trying to come out after rain8ng since early morning, lake around my house, think I might try and go out and see if I can dig a little trench, bad for shoulders so thinking hard bout that.

Happy Birthday Susan, hope it’s a special day in every way..

sure looks like tinnitus is very common place, feel for you all, seems each has different sounds..overtakes your thinking and zaps you of energy big sigh, if we were able to put all our head sounds together, what music it would be.

What a blessing Kieran is Dianne, you are truly blesses.. at his age most kids are off doing their own thing. Can you tell me what kind of meds you take and if it really helps?? I’d mention it to my doc..have a specialist appointment but not til May 18th.

Must be fun lindakay going into the fabric shop regularly, my trouble is I’d be spending more than I make... do you see any outstanding pattern designs?

How blessed you are Sharon to be surrounded by such beauty..we have extreme high winds..got a video from Facebook from 2015-2018..lovely photos but didn’t they add about 3 from yard next door before the fence, pretty sad..

Thanks for thinking about my mental well-being..thanks good you are all here or it would be mighty lonely.

Worked on the floral panel I cut up..need to do more freehand quilting on flowers but decided I could sit and hand sew binding..my shoulder has been great this week so have to Not aggravate it, some of you know if you spend a lot of hours free-handing your shoulders get a workout thus pain..

Did I tell you Kim my sister-in-law needs puns in her arm, being scheduled.

Wish I’d get news of Helene and her family, she is sooo on my mind.

Finished the egg salad sandwich so guess I should get off the couch and get something done..haven’t picked from my jar yet, best I do that

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Thank you for the birthday wishes - having a very nice day.
I'm going to do some paperwork for the Wellness Group (I'm treasurer), and also some cleanup around he house. I'm also knitting a shawl out of alpaca yarn. Very relaxing.
Bob's going to make a dinner of salmon & mushroom caps, plus whatever for a side dish. Homemade strawberry ice cream & cake.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I googled Lara, watched a couple of short clips. Very fun.

LindaK, are you still selling the masks TO the quilt store, or now working on THEIR time to make them? I got a few made recently as gifts. I fussy cut a dragon print for a teenage girl obsessed with dragons and a few other cute prints.

Sharon, I don't think I have EVER seen a tree covered with as many blossoms as that! WOW!.

Victoria Harbour, ON

I bought a pear tree when I first moved here, tall but never a bloom, perhaps it’s my soil.

As I sit and hand sew on the panel I’m doing I’m watching a hallmark movie “Hidden Places” good family story, man rode the trains, gets off to help a woman and two children and an aunt..decides to help, they decide he can stay in the barn, brought in blankets, threw a bunch of quilts on the hay stack, I gasped, they are treasure and here they are out in the barn..lol

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

We had rain and then snow. Wild weather. Currently it is lightly raining. I had a meeting in the greenbelt with management individuals and vendors. Redoing the 2-5 year old play ground right behind my back yard. Going to cost about $80,000. Equipment is 20 years old and starting to deteriorate. To old to buy parts and cannot be repaired due to safety issues and liability. We had only been there about 20 minutes when it started to rain. We headed for the covered area by the tennis courts and just as we got there, it started to snow.

Happy Birthday Susan. Have a wonderful day. Sounds like you two are working through your difficulties. That is a good thing.

Betty my sister watches Hallmark movies. I tease her about the suspense about the ending. You need to look up French Drains. They are used in the Southwest. I have them in my courtyard and backyard. If it starts flooding, the water goes into the drain, and there are many in the area, and it drains into the public sewer system.

Dianne, sound like your helper is a jewel. He is being raised by very good parents.

Linda, you working in a fabric shop would be like me working is a plant nursery. Betty would owe them money at the end of the day.

I am getting sleepy. Just had a cup of hot chocolate and now warm and toasty. I think I will take a little nap.

Texas Laurels are starting to bloom.

A French drain is what we need on the side of the driveway opposite of the house. It's the up hill side. Although the basement is now well water proofed and has a lifetime guarantee. I would feel better if the water stayed on the opposite side and got run out to the road. We've tried to get estimates several times but that is often difficult here. We get stood up more often than not. We could probably do it ourselves but there is a small hill partway out the drive and with our undigable clay it would take a ditch witch or similar machine to get past the hill.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

Karen, sounds like a homecoming reunion and all the grown Grandson can pitch in and get it done over a weekend. Best present Grandma & Grandpa could ever get.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, beautiful morning indeed, I spent 1/2 hour picking up limbs, is weather continues I should have them all picked up ready to burn..I used to have a rip roaring fire, hose by my side should it get out of control but with neighbour putting up a humongous plastic/canvas enclosure I worry about sparks burning holes or taking it down..I’m going to make a flag or buy to see which the wind is blowing before I burn but that is a long way away. The yard looks sooo yucky this time of year, junky with all the garden metal art pieces etc..with not being able to go anywhere I should have mega time to work in them

As for French drain, the construction guys say because the lay of the land is as such and the ditches and culverts that I may ask for more trouble..will dig up that corner and large, they have such good parking agents..does help that we have natural springs, think when they built the seniors home they may have tapped into it.

We will see, all that water is no longer, can’t believe the difference a day makes p, haven't timed the pump this morning, when I went to bed it was about 56 seconds,
During the night is was almost 2 minutes so improving and keeping up its thaw.

Sharon is in her way, she is doing the wedding quilt, brides bouquet is mini mini leaves and flowers, no way with her shaking hands can she set them down and appliqué them so I will help.

Best I have something to eat but watch what I eat, Putin a lbs this month..adds up

Enjoy your day

Victoria Harbour, ON

Drats, Sharon was here and mentioned her son terry was moving to geraldton (?) believe north east of “m” and was going to stay with friends temporarily staying with a friend who owns a garage til he finds a house, the family had a fire last night, humungous older home, think 11 lived in home, all same family..young child died, (perhaps more, and a few in hospital.. Terry’s friend called him to say he survived the fire and hung up, so guess more news to come..imagine losing everything but more so lives

I am so sorry to hear of their loss. Fires, & floods, so devastating.

Sharon posted on Facebook photo of the baby, couldn’t look at it, such a lovely child, just makes me ill..

Went to get Ziggy eats, wind is so strong, as Dianne would say, you might find us in Kansas, picked up a few a few branches and headed inside for hot bath..

Timed my sump pump, up to 3 minutes which is great, (well better than 56 seconds earlier) might get more sleep tonight.

That is so sad that a family loses their home and family members.

Betty, you are so sweet to your sister. My pups have already had their afternoon walk. My daughter went to Costco for me and then she walked the dogs with me. My hair is totally straight but I do not have any functions tonight so no big deal.

Take care everyone. Everyone be happy and safe. Hugs, Sharon

Morning all,awfully grey out there,
think high of the day I’ll be 26f

You are so organized Sharon with your gardens, furries are precious, is the patio walkway being sealed with cement type finish? Working as recreation coordinator we had to often often replace our playground equipment, had to be specifically from playground manufacturers and wasn’t cheap, many I felt could have lasted few years longer but insurance demanded it.

Glad I looked at iPad rime/date icon as I thought today was Friday.

Think I will go out for half hour and gather tree limbs then purchase a burning permit on the municipality site, that way first day no wind I can burn...that would really feel like spring is here, snow is slated for a few days butthat is ok, closerto Mother Nature saying it’s time for spring cleaning..

Ziggy wants out so I’ll grab my hot chocolate, warm jacket and gloves.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I am going to start the process in earnest of preparing for Adam & family. If the moratorium on evictions is not extended the end of this month, I likely will have them here by the end of April.
Today I focus on the final preparations on Stanley/computer room & getting it ready for my grandson. He has allergies so will take out area rug (clean & rehome it), wash bedspread & curtains, move out anything that is NOT staying for his use. Stanley will be moved completely out to the sewing room. I have had BOTH areas set up for him for months, waiting to make the transition. 2 water bowls & cat food, litter boxes etc.
I want to get motion sensor lights set up outside to make it safer to take the dogs out at night. The yard is not fenced so it means taking her on a leash each time. Adam will take her without a leash, but I don't trust 100% that she would come if I called if she caught the scent of something she wanted to follow.
I best get on it. I will need Adam's help before he goes to work.

CUTE!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Looks like the next many weeks are busy for you Pat?n will be different for Stanley but he will adjust.you would have thought the government would have kept the moratorium on rent for just a tad longer but has to stop at some point I guess. You will enjoy having company I’m sure, at least for a while ..I also will look for outdoor motion lights, apparently there are some you don’t have to wire in, need that as I am sure you do as well..right now at night my yard is quite bright because of all the light in parking lot if seniors home but once the trees have leaves not so much..the other side of the drive needs lighting big time,

Bitter cold out there because of the winds..trying to talk myself into going outside for another 1/2 hour, wonder who will win, couch or yard.

Dianne, did you see the sales at Foodland?,last night I ran in to get Ziggy eats, today I needed eats for me. They had a lot of buy one gene free so bought a lot of those, had pork tenderloin on as well, bought 2 Taster Choice coffee and came home with 4

Lindakay, some child will be excited, bet you get a thrill on each you do as well and when you get to last turn you say ‘almost there’!

Loaded some embroidery design on toggle switch, not sure I want to start a project this late in the day, feel more like having a nap..just ate my bowl of pea soup, I’ll bag some in the morning so that I’ll have soup when
I need warming up.

Just a reminder, clock ahead tonight

I woke up to high winds again. At least our skies are clear blue. Bundled up and we headed out for our walk. Half way through our walk, clouds moved in and it looked like snow. We didn't walk, we were blown around the neighborhood. I had on a think sweater over another sweater and gloves but fingers still got cold. Emma and Cecil didn't miss a beat and you would never know by them that it was cold or windy.

Not much to do today. Guess I should take up another hobby along with gardening.
I did go out into the garage and water the coleus rooting. They are doing very well.

Betty I saw your photos from your garden and they are beautiful.

Pat, my cats voluntarily send the majority of their time in my walk in closet and bedroom. But if I tried to pen them in there, they would rebel. I leave my bedroom door a jar because Boots would be there, if the door was closed, and screaming. When Vern was alive, my favorite time of the day was when I laid my head on my pillow at night. Within a minute, Boots would close the door and them scream. Vern would laugh and I would get up and reopen the door. sure do miss that laugh/chuckle.

Betty, how is your friend that has Covid. How is your SIL. How are you doing with the blues? Please do not over do your "picky up sticks".

Linda, that is an adorable quilt. How is your weather? Ours is wild.

I will return later. Hugs

After NO falls for a couple of years, I scored TWO today. I stubbed my shoe against the area rug & down I went. I knew I was going & aimed for the HUGE baf of batting that I had ready to take out to storage. It didn't hurt but was sure difficult to get up because of where I was.
I took Nova out to potty and she decided to lunge & "argue" with the little dog next door that was snapping and snarling at her thru the fence. Down I went and she took off running the fence line. I fell right in front of my neighbor. I asked the neighbor to please put her 2 dogs in, so I could get control of Nova again, & get up.I have 2 burns on my hand from the nylon leash. LATER today, when I take her out, I will have my hand in the loop, and I will be ready to spank her bunnies if she tries something stupid like that again. I am going to be sore tomorrow. My knee is a little achy already.

Just climbed into bed but not before I changed what clocks needed changing

Sharon, sounds as thought everyone is getting the high winds, Lordy hard to believe you could get snow..now what kind of hobby do you think you would like to get intomwhen you aren’t gardening..

Can just imagine Vern laughing at Boots shenanigans..lol

Ziggy is hiding somewhere during the day and I haven’t figured out where..used to be downstairs on the couch cuddled between pillows or on the back bedroom, guess with all the snow he gave that up.. tonight while I was knitting he was on the back of the couch dozing, woke him up when I came to bed, right now he is cuddled besides me.. I am sure he is anxiously waiting for spring and warmer weather as well..spring 7 days away.

Sharon, as for Helene and her family I have not heard, keep checking area Covid deaths and so far I do not see any so hopefully good news...Kim is waiting for surgery date.

You asked about the blues, today it was Joanne and Joanne is never on a downer..she is missing her children, one in British Columbia and the other in Australia. We had a pep talk and hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. Warmed my heart today seeing all busy sewing to pass the time, Pat quilted her block in a block using her scraps, Sharon was working on her wedding quilt and joanne her bunny and June came over for knitted coverup pattern and I downloaded carrot designs with friends names, bunny to embroider on t towels to as you can see we are all struggling but entertaining ourselves as therapy!

Pat, you are lucky no broken bones, could really be serious and yes, tomorrow you will be mighty sore. Do you not have an area with a tote of sorts you could tie him and let him play outside without you holding on to him..when I look after Ned now that is what I have to do, don’t have strength to hold onto him should he decide to run after something

Because of the way that Nova is shaped, she can slip out of most collars and her skin is so sensitive she chaffs if you leave her in a collar. We just HAVE to make getting a secure fence up a priority.
It's only 8.45 but I am so tired, wish I could just go to bed but I have to give the lesson tomorrow morning for the teen girls. I read it over a time or two but feel I need more prep to be secure and confident in the presenting the lesson.
I did NOT get the room finished, oh well. Tomorrow is another day.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

Pat, do not wrap your hand with the leash. You could really hurt your hand or your arm or shoulder My brother had is leash tied around his finger and just about lot it when his dog took after one of my cats. How about a halter. I hate it when I fall. Have not done so recently but have had a few close calls. I have no rugs in the house because of the risk of falling. Last two stumbles, without falling, were caused by the hose in the garden.

Betty, both cats can get lost in my home. They can open cabinets in my bathroom and sometimes they do that, crawl in and go to sleep in a closed cabinet. Sometimes I get worried because I am concerned they got out and I didn't know it. After going out and calling them many times, they show up from who know where. When I set the alarm at night, before I go to bed, they show up because they know they will get a treat.

Time to go to bed. I will change the clocks tomorrow because the majority of mine change automatically.

Good Morning All. Hugs, Sharon
