betty I like your new table!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Yummy, think I’ll go back and see what ingredients I need, love fudge but never successful in making it..

Let us know Liz how great it tastes

Victoria Harbour, ON

Found and copied.,don’t remember seeing marshmallow cream?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Let us know how it turns out Liz.

Betty, that fudge is so easy to make. You can use regular marshmallows. Just put them in a big bowl and nuke them till they are creamy.

Pat, you got a lot of nice things for Christmas. Can't wait for you to post photos.

Pacifica, CA

Home again.
Short trip for me, I was sick to my stomach this morning before we left so ended sleeping a good part of the way home. Poor hubby, I wasn't very good company.
Been through my pile of mail and about caught up on line. Back to bed for me soon as I'm yawning again.
The phone pillows were very well received, in fact my aunt called me while we were on the way home for directions as she wants to make some. Kids all loved their reading pillows too. I was so happy about that.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Sounds like all your gifts were well received Karen, that makes gift giving very special. EXTRA cool when you make them yourself too!

No, Ben does not understand it's too much for me. We'll look at it again when he's been there 3 weeks and has had physical therapy. Look at where he is strength wise, and how much he has benefitted, and whether it was as bad as he thought it would be... THEN have that conversation.

Maybe if Ben understands I will see him nearly daily and bring dinner once a week, he'll think it's not that bad. It's really close to home, we live off 27th & Olympia and the SNF is on 7t and Olympia, can't ask for better than that.

Victoria Harbour, ON

New Years Eve day everyone, we had snow if you can call it that..looks slushy, I’ll soon know as I have to bring garbage out..I’m so pleased I made a trip to the dump the other day.

I’m not as dizzy as yesterday but dizzy enough to know to take things easy.

Karen sorry to hear you are unwell, long drive for you both..knew the kids would love their pillows, everyone I gave them to didn’t let them out of their hands...finishing coffee and going down to make one..every time I say I will something comes up.

Liz you will have to add vanilla to your staples..have you eaten all up yet?
What is your weather like?

Lindakay what is keeping you busy

“m” think you are the winner or loser re amount of snow this week.

want to say hi to all I’ve missed and others (lurkers)
Best I get my garbage to roadside

i want a few thing in Barrie, won’t drive feeling as I am so if Sharon wants to go and pick me up we will make a quick run, other than that ain’t will be home for a few days.. this is not a good time for me so always at sorts.

Verona, ON

Wishing you an early Happy New Year - just in case I don't get back.

Karen I was so glad to read you are home ...... I was worried about you driving in the nasty weather we had yesterday. You were in Michigan, right ?

OK Liz I am going to try that fudge. If I do I'll be joining you on a midnight raid.

The TH and I will welcome the new year in quietly here at home. Warren and I were never much for New Year's parties. I hate that at midnight all these people run around trying to hug and kiss you when the rest of the year they hardly recognize you are alive.

It is to be in the mid 30's F today so hopefully the ice on the lane will melt. The trouble is it melts then refreezes overnight.

Wishing you all a happy, healthy, peaceful 2020.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Enjoy your fudge Liz. You too Dianne if you make it. Don't forget to add the Baileys Irish cream. I imagine you could add and flavor you have on hand.

Pacifica, CA

Missed the midnight raid, but made it for 1 am had a cup of coffee and fudge oh was it good, put some in freezer and refrigerator.

Thsnks again linda kay definatly a keeper

All this talk of fudge! I'll have to try and make some. I was lucky enough to get some in a Santa Warren gift from Linda Kay a few years ago. I'll just say, it sure didn't last long around here! So yummy!!

deb

Victoria Harbour, ON

Gibes I’ll have to go to liquor store

Roger used to make bailey’s, maybe she should go looking for recipe

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Only weather we had coming home was some wind in Ohio. Other than that clear and dry all the way. Kept getting warmer as we got closer, I like that.

Lyndonville, NY

Happy New Years Eve,

Betty, liquor wont help your wobbles! Be careful!
Snow is starting here and rain mixed in with a nasty wind.

Sure hope it stops and clears before THURSDAY!
Betty has graciously let me kidnap (or beg for) her table she was putting to the roadside. I have some good memories around that table.....and my set is horrid.
Not actually mine...was MILs and honestly it doesn't sit well in my heart.

AND if Betty decides she needs it back....I am a short trip away and will deliver it for her! She did say a chair was weak....I think that is the one she dances on in the window (Wink)

We were going to be there today but DH has to work tomorrow and I forgot all about it. I think is a blessing because right now weather not good.

Linda Kay sent me some fudge also I think last year in the Santa exchange. My son loved it so much I had to hide it.

I am organizing.....and well, I do not organize well. Basically moving things one spot to another. Good grief.

Be safe tonight if you are going out. I will be in my fuzzy PJs watching a movie.

Debbie

Victoria Harbour, ON

Debbie, we have had great memories around that table set, never thought about that..sure could tell you some stories. Lol

Weather here has been off and on, not much accumulation..Sharon went into Midland and said roads were good, did I want to go...nope I’m enjoying pj day!

Tempted to open a box of chocolates..all your fault from your talking about fudge..

Have all the fixings for Apple Sauce cake but waiting to make it tomorrow so it will be fresh for Paul and Debbie.

Karen, enjoyed making those phone rests, Lordy could you ever make them quickly as gifts..cut out 2 and voila..just too bad I don’t have a cel phone...found this antique one to test and it works..so thanks for the idea.

Hard to rest when someone wants to join you!

Pat just messaged me, her granddaughter was due yesterday, today mommy decided she had best get ambulance and new little angel was born in ambulance/8n driveway ..she went to hospital and was waiting to get the ok to go home.

Then June called me to say she had gone with Holly to get her results..apparently they got the cancer, hadn’t attacked lymph nodes so good news there.

Waiting on my 3rd good news call.

Happy new year everyone.

Happy New Year everyone!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

HAPPY NEW YEAR from Thunder Bay, snowy and cold here ..

May be heading east in a week or so. Lorna's Mom is going deeper into her dementia and Lorna wants to visit while her Mom still knows who she is. Again we will travel with Piper our wee diabetic Westie, hoping for good weather, but, it's a toss up.

Cooking a spiral ham today .. also bought a bunch of Brussel Sprouts as I have a recipe for pickling them, gonna try it out .

Take care

~M~

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

So sorry to hear about Lorna's Mom. We will keep you all in our prayers. Please drive safely when you go.

Praying that 2020 is much better than last year.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Oh “M” such a long drive to undertake at this time of year...know it’s a must!
Will be heartbreaking if Lorna gets here only to find out she doesn’t know her, Lorna will be overwhelmed.

It snowed yesterday, light and fluffy, tad this morning but according to radar now leaving, our region..was thinking if I wait till later today it just might melt..likely not!

Spoke with Greg this morning, his birthday and the 29th anniversary of Roger’s passing. Mom called, she says she has found a lump on her breast, so will make appt. to see doctor tomorrow.

I put all the quilts in space bags, some aren’t keeping air out, maybe my hands are to weak to do the closures...that being said under the spare room bed they are. Will vacuum later then wash floors and make ruby cake...in between I’d like to make my shoulder frog as it sits on my shoulder nicely when heated and does me a work of good.

That is about as exciting as my day will be.

What else are you up to?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Do you have a pattern for the frog?

Praying for your Mom.

Pacifica, CA

happy new year all

Victoria Harbour, ON

Waving Liz, hugs to Kenny...

Yes LIndakay I do have the pattern for the frog, very simple to make, just can’t make it when you are sitting or laying on couch all day lol

I even changed size so they would be great for young kids, those I filled with plastic pellets, NOT to be used in microwave.

Must be a thread cooking week, Yesterday I did Joyce’s slow cooker roast, today did Ruby’s applesauce cake (Sharon came, 1/2 of one eaten) and next time I’m 8n town so I can buy the liquor I’ll make lindakay’s fudge, that ought to put on the pounds that I don’t need,

Sharon shovelled my steps, getting milder, great snowman making snow, shaking my head, no not going to make one.

Did manage to get some done today..found on top shelf of cupboard a lot of crochet p/knitted and regular throws, guess they will go to goodwill next time I head for town.

Pushed myself off the couch and got a bag of scraps out, have it made up to sewing together (pinned to the hilt). Going to call it quits..will sew tomorrow morning, add the fixings and put eyes on him then ready to use...I do a lot of scroll just to keep him in tack, looks far better when stuffed..no reason to spend mega time on him as he is thrown in microwave and on my shoulder.

Omg that is so cute. Such talent
I actually looked at sewing machine at Walmart.
Terrified I cant thread it.

See you tomorrow late morning.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I love that frog.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Aw Daisy, if you can read instructions, you can thread sewing machine. If you still have trouble, go to Utube. I swear they have everything!

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Karen, where did you get the plastic pellets for the phone pillow that you said was washable?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Well it’s that time of night, actually this is a late night..

Looking forward to your and Paul’s visit..not calling for snow...no reason you can’t be sewing up a storm Debbie.let me know when you leave so I can up and at it lol

Here Pam we have a Lens Mill, they sell by the pound

Decided my neck was paining and I had gone this far might as well finish him..his first visit to microwave this New Years Day!

Pat it is my eyesight, not knowing how. Ok. A bit of both. Lol

Betty trying to get out between 6:30 and 7:00.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Pat, JoAnn's carries them and also Amazon. I ordered the most from Amazon, think it was the best deal. I think they were called medical something.

Marilynne, please give Lorna a hug for me. I just lost a cousin to dementia and it was heart breaking.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Debbie, there are aids to help thread

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Ohhhhh…. my sister using a magnifier and tweezers when she needs to thread a machine. LOL... now she has paid a fortune and both her serger and sewing machine self thread, COMPLETELY.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Happy New Year everyone 💕

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all..

Yahoo, Debbie and Paul are visiting today, shortly on the road her message says..a new year plus for sure!

Susan, how are you, likely going not stop with your community events.

Was out shovelling at 5:30, didn’t shovel since snow came, thought I’d best get it done so Debbie doesn’t break her neck coming in. Thought SHARON said she did my steps when she came last night, likely meant I needed to shovel my steps.

Went to bed with Mr. Froggy, warmed me up and fell asleep content remembered when grandma used to put me 9n her knee and sing ‘oh Mr. Froggie will you marry me” quite an off song...well I asked Mr, Froggie if he’d marry me but no answer yet 😜

Victoria Harbour, ON

Debbie and Paul are near Milton, likely be here around 11..excited to see Debbie on my turf, other than summer/fall visit it is always stateside.

With having been careful cutting out my frog on quilted fabric I was able to make another with a bit of recutting and sewing where needed..just have to fill it and sew then fill. As I was doing this I saw one adorable frog sitting on the shelf, thought how dumb I was, I only had to pick a few stitches out, empty plastic pellets and refill with iron oats and could have saved last nights sewing.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I know you are both excited to see each other. Enjoy your time together.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Will do
