Moved us over..

Having difficulties with internet this morning, can’t access bank, few of my sites..posted when I got up just after 3 this morning but don’t see a post so trying a new thread.

Snow stopped falling about 6am so I’ve some shovelling to do, see municipal sanders out so it must be icy.

Dianne, how are both you and Diesel doing this morning??
Karen, still feeling yucky?

I did a lot this morning, got 2 more scroll name pillows, about 7 more and they are all done..you don’t want to ask me how many I’ve made lol
Hoping I’ve enough canvas because buying another package is quite expensive to leave sit and I think I’m about done with pillows 🤪

Need to make some inserts but that means a trip to midland, guess I should take a drive in and get a few things and have to order birthday cake for Saturday a.m. pick up, still decided wether or not trays of eats or order Chinese.

Checking to see if any word on Dianne???

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Dianne - are you ok, and is Diesel ok?

After our less-than-stellar sale on Saturday at the Christmas Market, I've decided 2 things - need to make more Autumn & Christmas items for sale, starting now, and we need to make display racks to make our table look more "out there" and professional.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Well you learn something Susan, I’m sure some sales vendors don’t do well and at other times excel..Do you know that all the sales I go to the more primitive of this the more it sells

My Dave’s garden doesn’t show me win a post has been made they must be having problems with the system again

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks for the new thread Betty.

I clicked the "watch" on this thread, but didn't get any notifications when new posts were made.

Hoping for word from Dianne that all is OK.

Bright and sunny out today, for a change!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Same here Deb, started to see notifications today..

Likely Dianne won’t be able to update until she gets the ok to do regular activities and use her sight

Glad your weather is ok, when I left for town this morning it was snowing a bit, about 1/2 hour later no snow which is good news..they still are posting weather watch though.

Today is the first day that I virtually broke down and cried re pain..more fibromyalgia then the mass..got what I could do in midland and just got back..

Tummy is hungry so have my pasta cooking, will heat the sauce and eat/relax

Going to soak my hands though as the fingertips are numb. Grr this is so tiring..I’m full of energy but have to fight pain, much like you all.

Ziggy is laying here beside me in a deep sleep, maybe I should just nap with him..that would be end of it though for the day if I did that..made 2 more gingerbread this morning, when you take them out of the hoop you have to cut around them..I’ll do them all then buy wrapped candy because if I don’t just like Halloween I’ll eat them all

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear you are in so much pain Betty. Please take care.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thanks LIndaKay

Calling it a day..Greg just came with the puppets/dummies, he was pleased they got here on time for Jeff’s drop in Saturday.

I didn’t invite many as he did not want a gathering, mostly relatives, his friends are all in the city,,bought what I needed so tomorrow should be an easy day getting things together!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sweet dreams Betty.

Miss not seeing someone posting..

I wanted to get a lot done, went to town and kept myself busy, thought I’d have time to make my greenery pieces done but I went to several garden centres all decorated and gorgeous pieces so spent most of the time looking..I did see sooo much I wanted but where to heck would I put it ..maybe another day I’ll break down and buy them..told myself I could buy 1 good piece, Suzanne bought me while at Cracker Barrel a beautiful arched piece that lights up so that doesn’t count right?

I went to staples..9mg they did a fantastic job printing out the 3 cookbooks I did for Paul and his daughters using his recipes..probably a few days and I’ll have the wooden covers done.

Also dropped in and ordered Chinese food for 20 for tomorrow night..

Ran into Melanie and she said she talked to Greg and they decided that the past 3-4 years she has had Christmas and if I wanted to host it this year she was ok with it...I’ll see what is up with Jeff and his boys, maybe I’ll be doing Christmas Eve and Christmas.

This morning I managed to get 4 more gingerbread men/ladies done so now I have a dozen made..2 more to go then I can fill with candies. The Christmas Carollers come the Sunday before Christmas so I’ve a few weeks to get them done.

Tomorrow morning I’m hoping to be up and at it, relocate a few sewing machines so I can have 2 tables cleared for Chinese food, cake and goodies..

Sitting here watching the tree rotate, such pretty ornaments, love my imitation tree, bought it it Boxing Day several years ago, what I like are the branches are a mixture of different types,of trees and red berries..

I’ve gabbed to much, that happens when I’m super tired, think I’ll make sure the lights and machines are,off and call it a night..need to be up at break of dawn to finish shovelling and getting my list done before, company comes..

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Betty - if you're going to be doing Both Christmas & Christmas Eve, make sure you get plenty of rest beforehand & afterwards. We all know how you like to overdo, but please, for the sake of your health, DO take it easy. Two occasions are an awful lot to do within 24 hours.
In this farming community it seems everyone has family & are having their big dinners & visiting, and with us having no family, we're going to go to the Legion in Olds again, for Christmas dinner. It's a traditional turkey dinner. We went there last year & quite enjoyed it, along with the fellowship :)

I didn't get notifications either.

Newcastle, ON(Zone 5a)

Looking forward to seeing the puppets..and also hearing about how Jeff reacted.

I had a cozy inside day today. My snowplow fella came after the snow stopped falling.
About 1 pm.

My friend and I went to a Community Care lunch yesterday. Good food, little chocolate treats for Christmas and a trio of singers for entertainment. We all got singing along to the Christmas songs. They have these lunches once a month in a church hall.

Morning all, think it’s suppose to be nice today, here is hoping..

Woke up at 3 and was shovelling snow into drive ny 3:20...Works better if I do the walkway from the back basement door and back door and put it into the drive where Andrew can push it when he comes, it’s a game to see if I get it done by the time he comes, he’ll be surprised today and I’m up and at it. I did not do the front deck and walkway I thought I’d leave that up to the boys that or not do it and that encourages everybody to use the back doors because it’s a lot of coming and have shoes and water everywhere so might just leave it till tomorrow.

So as you can see I’m making progress with my day just took out three sorts of containers and see if I can’t get those three done then wash all the floors and might get a chance to sit and maybe have a nap for an hour before anyone gets here.

Susan, will do I’ll try my very best thing to making it simpler I was even thinking pie day which I usually do Christmas as well is now in my mind maybe just a Thanksgiving tradition .Can go to M&M’s and get all the sweets..Do a few things Christmas Yves day and it shouldn’t be too bad. Normally if everyone’s here opening gifts I do Chinese Christmas Eve so that’s no work but this year I have to find out when Jeff is coming whether it’s Christmas Eve or early Christmas morning and make my plans from there.I’m sure it’s hard Susan having no family in the area but making friends at the lodge is exciting as well all giving their all Christmas cheer to each other and a good meal you don’t have to clean up after.

Carole, your time at the community centre with friends sounds like fun as well.

How are you feeling Karen are you any better?

Best to start moving or I won’t get anything done need to be ambitious until noon then I can sit and socialize and yes I will post pictures of Jeff opening his present

Victoria Harbour, ON

Starting with these containers, almost 5

Going to give myself till six then clear up my mess although I have a tote with some beautiful Christmas Carollers that I usually put them in an arrangement so I have to wait for daybreak to be able to take a trek out there and get them

Victoria Harbour, ON

Are you nearly there Karen or mega left to do.

Sun is shiining, perfect for my family to travel in..quite a Storm last night so had to shovel..did 4 floral arrangements, all but live flowers/snow day flirty..tidied up and moved thins around in crag room and decided, that is a fib, body decided that a lay down to get pressure off my back/spine is needed..yes I know, overdid..will ask the girls to set out meet/cheese platters as well as fruit and veggies, best I not feed them too good or I’ll be left with Chinese till Christmas..too bad it doesn’t keep.

Sun is bright, took pain meds hop8ng I can get a few hours sleep.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sounds like everyone is getting ready for Christmas.
Betty, enjoy your get together, and make everyone else do the work.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

All I had planned is done. Made several cell phone pillows today. about 20 mins to make two. I'll see how many I get done before I run out of supplies.

Making popcorn to give out at the parade tomorrow, just took a dinner break

Oh yes I got a beautiful new great grandson today.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, bitter cold but clear .was even thinking of going to Barrie today, or maybe not. Lol

Karen that is quite a number, full house and I’m sure always filled with love..what a Christmas present he will be!

Woke up at 5 and told myself there was no need to get up so early so 8:30 it was.

Melanie Greg and Jeff helped clean up, stacked was a pile of dishes to go into dishwasher once I emptied it..think if I were to vacuum you wouldn’t know I had a party..

All went well, nice to see family I won’t get to see Christmas.

Jeff went crazy over his dummy, had us all in stitches most of the evening.

Looking at my Christmas to list and it’s nearing the end.

Need 2 scroll pillows
Make about.16 more gingerbread then buy candy to fill
Need 2 $50 gifts for Noah and Kyle to equal out $$$ spent on each
Finish quilting the 2 Victorian Santa throws

And there you go..should be able to get that finished this week.

What are you all up to?

Debbie I love your believe betting, glad to see you are up to decorating a bit.. how is Shannon doing in her new home?

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Riding in the Christmas parade today and next week-end too. We hand out popcorn. Made hundreds of bags last night, it's a big hit.

Looks like the party was a big hit. I loved that video.

What are all the gingerbread men for?

Victoria Harbour, ON

The Christmas carollers..making 30 just incase..have to go on a,wrapped, candy sale to fill them lol

Going to try and machine embroider my doctors pillow today and get one of those Victorian Santa’s done..

Just ordered a western from next door, need to go get it..didn’t have breakfast, not a wonder I’m hungry

Rainy here today..will be an ice rink all over if it freezes

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Weird morning, woke about usual time. did my online reading, showered, dressed. Suddenly felt ill, threw up, laid back down and slept until 2. Not too perky yet, I guess another day upstairs for me.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear that Karen. Praying you are feeling better soon.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Hope it’s not the flu Karen, hear that it is going around.

Girls were here this morning so I got dressed, they no sooner left I got back in nightie, about 2 my tummy was funny, thought it might be the western, in and out of ladies room, laced down and now I’m thinking ,of finishing the backs of the cookbooks so I can start giving them final coats of satin flex to

It was so icy when I went to get the western, Lordy if it freezes tonight I can put my skates on in the morning. Last Tuesday the girls will come until after the new year.think they are done their projects and we are socializing only.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Betty, seems just a social visiting day would be in order.
I'm feeling better but didn't go to band Christmas concert. Didn't care to possibly infect any one else nor did I want to pick up something with my resistance down.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I know you are probably looking forward to just socializing.
Any word from your surgeon? Any cancellations?

Newcastle, ON(Zone 5a)

Goodness..hope you girls are feeling better soon.

Karen..congrats on your new Great Grandson. What is his name?

I enjoyed seeing the video..Jeff sure loved his puppet. There will be many laughs ahead when people see him with his "buddy" Is Greg's a good likeness of him?
Do you have any photos of his puppet?

I better get cracking on Christmas wrapping..it is creeping up fast. I think I am all Christmas Bazaared out..no desire to go to any more. Bought some mincemeat tarts. Only seem to see them around the holidays. I like them warmed a bit with a piece of blue cheese. Reminds me of my dear friend Heather who passed 6 years ago on Dec. 12th. She would bake some every Christmas.

My granddaughter came for a visit last evening. She picked up a 6 pack of San Marzano tomatoes at Costco for me. Also one of their wonderful plump roasted chickens. Unfortunately, she will be working on Christmas Eve and Christmas day. She is a nurse at Oshawa General Hospital. The nurses have a system that is you work Christmas you get New Years Eve off. Then it witches the next year so they alternate. My other Grandaughter is also a nurse at OGH. She has Christmas off.

This is my first Great Grandson, Logan. I have three other great so far. Note the unusual costume on Santa.

Have a great day everyone.

I love Santas dressed like that. I wanted to make a porcelain Father Christmas but it just never happened.

Logan is a cutie too.

Latest is named Arthur Thomas. Pleased, the Thomas is for hubby.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Because of the weather Linda Kay Only June dropped in, because there was just the two of us she told me she had just gotten news that her daughter Holly had cancer of the throat. Having surgery Thursday, I would say she is about 40, June couldn’t stop the tears!

No news from surgeon but I’m going to call tomorrow . Know it’s not the shoulder that’s is giving me the pain right now it’s the entire body, doc says fibromyalgia will do that. I’m already in bed took extra pain meds and hope I can sleep and tomorrow will be a new day!

Congrats on the new arrivals, love the names. Carole is your weather like ours? Logan seems to be very popular..ex DIL name her young one Logan, so many craft shows and normally all same vendors.

June gave me a lively piece this morning..now where to put it
