Poor Dianne, she is having a heck of a time with that leg. I hope the MD can get her fixed up.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks Debbie. Sure hope she gets her computer and leg fixed soon.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

We only made it to 11:30 and then I crashed. Big freeze tonight so shall see what is let of my garden tomorrow. Moved 3 bougainvilleas that are in pots into the garage and two durants. Grandson-in-laws moved them for me this afternoon. The durants are variegated and I didn't want to take a chance. One of the bougainvilleas is also variegated with a white bloom.

The three photos are the 3rd car section of the garage that is full of my zone pushing pants.

Morning, no afternoon,

-16F, brrr

Girls were here this morning, just left..nice seeing them, been a few weeks, missed them.

Dianne must be jumping for joy at that box Debbie...not a thing inside I wouldn’t like.
Sorry to hear she has computer problems again..

Thank goodness Sharonyou had help..did you get the frost they were calling for? Saw some photos of Arizona having had snow, Mother Nature is teaching us an unwanted lesson, all having suchchanged in weather.

Just having lunch, coffee machine downstairs bit the dust last week and Barrie factory direct is having a sale which ends today, thinking of taking a ride...just have to decide if I want to brave the bitter cold.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Did make it to Barrie..new coffee maker
Glad I didn’t go into Walmart in midland

Oh my. I hope it was not true. Sad that anyone thinks to do stuff like that.
Debbie, that is a box of nice goodies.
38 here in Texas.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Happy New Year, everyone!!

Sorry to hear that Dianne is still suffering from her leg & that she's having computer problems! Nice Santa box! I'll bet she's really enjoying it.

temp is 6c / 43F - very balmy!
had a quiet NYE, Bob & I - snacking & wine, and Netflix shows. Don't have tv so couldn't see any NYE shows, but that's ok. Only time I would be interested in watching tv would be NYE ball drop & the Rose Bowl parade. It's not that important though.
Enjoyed our NYD potluck dinner on Tues, went shopping today, and now it's almost time for dinner.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Happy new year to me..

Mom just called, crying, Sharon didn’t call her for Christmas/New Years..ended up saying she wanted nothing to do with any of us as all we’ve ever done is cause her grief

Lyndonville, NY

Did you explain to her Sharon has been sick?

OMG I have same issues here Betty, but....You can't make everyone happy.
I told you before, I love your Mom dearly, but she needs a time out sometimes. LOL

The 3 of you are my family....but I am NOT taking her. hehehe

Victoria Harbour, ON

She knows SHARON has been sick..she knows SHARON hasn’t been taking her calls for past few months and rightly so.
I walk fine line with her not wanting to get involved but seems when she can’t get her way with Sharon she starts on me, not having it..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh no. Sorry to hear that Betty.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Betty - I'd adopt you freely, but I also don't think I'd want your mom......... she sounds like a handful 🤞
Hope Sharon's feeling better now.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

26f was our low and quite a few things got nipped but they should have already been trimmed back. My pepper plant got nipped but I think it might make it. It it up against the house and I wrapped the bottom part. It self seeded itself so you already know it is stronger. Tomatoes are mush. Oranges are still on the tree high up. I meant to have one of the tall grandson-in-laws pick them. They just went home today. Shame on me. Now I will get my small step ladder and a witness to watch me pick them. Witness is just in case I fall off the ladder.

Betty, I am so sorry you have to hear that fom your Mother. Mothers are suppose to be your best friend and protector.

I have a hair appointment tomorrow and I also have a sitter for Vern so I will go grocery shopping. I cleaned out the fridge today. All leftovers are gone. Now to determine what I want to cook.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

Woke up to quite a bit of snow, blowing so will be some squalls..glad I went out yesterday, only place I have to go is a few streets over for hair cut this afternoon..likely girls who come to sew Thursday night will stay home tonight.

Glad Sharon you will not climb the stepladder on your own, so easy to fall and injure yourself. Always nice to open the refrigerator after Christmas and see no leftovers, then what is left you say why on earth did I buy that. Is your meat expensive Sharon? Was at foodland the other day, a family roast was $68, omg what family can afford it? Vern still thinking you are moving?

Susan I wouldn’t let any of you adopt her..she plays the nice old lady you love to all except her family..she is wickedly evil with us..not normally with me so I found it surprising the last few times she has been with me.enough of that, kept me up as it did Sharon most of the night.

Pat, did the caregiver offer names of facilities that Ben could go to for a few weeks?

Know Sharon is getting her hair done, how about the rest of you, anything exc8ting going on?

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Got artificial nails done and hair cut schedule next week. Still not feeling 100%

Victoria Harbour, ON

You are run down Pat but betlooking awfully pretty with new do and nails done..

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Sadly, mothers are not always love & sunshine. They can be selfish, harsh and cruel.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I got my Christmas decorations down and put away. Only 3 totes. Nothing compared to what Betty has.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Still an accomplishment LIndakay..now for decorating for next holiday right? Lol

Not snowing but blowing, hate to go out but have a 5 pm appt for hair cut, warming car, yeah for being able to start vehicle from inside..haven’t shovelled so off to get that done, foodland then hair..Janice and Helene can’t come tonight, both sick..haven’t heard from Wanneta so I guess it’s just her and I

Fighting headache, stress I’m sure so I wouldn’t have m8nded if nobody came tonight

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Take your pills now, so it won't get worse.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Just got in, picked up supper, go8ng to check emails, know Janice and Helene aren’t com8ng, hooe I find email from Wanneta cancelling.

Tomorrow I have a company coming to check what can be done re water coming in .sump pumps they put it and battery operated unit work but the battery unit only works if power only goes out for an hour..worries me. Apparently there is a new system that is out 8n municipal line, if power goes out the pressure of the water ine get ps rid of water, I have no idea how it works..more in the $1,000 forumit and work..

Called 3 places re generac unit, with taxes and out in more like $8,000 ..ouch

I’m really only concerned about the water pump so hope it’s a good solution.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Ouch is right.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

The water issues have sure been a night mare for you Betty.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, 39f today..mild out there, hate the thoughts of rain tomorrow though..winter enthusiasts can’t get out.

Quiet day here, waiting for the gentleman to access my situation re water then heading to town, last uncle on my dad’s side is on his death bed, usually go at Christmas for a visit but with all the cold and flu bugs and laziness I didn’t, a must today!

Wanneta came to sew last night so enjoyed the evening didn’t get to bed until 10,late for me.

Will finish my coffee then it’s playtime, will work on my periwinkle top.

What is the weather like in your area? Doing anything special?

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

We interviewed for a new caregiver last night. Ben has an increase in hours and I needed to find a 2nd person to help in evenings and weekends. She is sweet and I hope she will be a good fit. She has no training but that is OK as this job will give her day time off so she can complete her training AND put her in good position to pick up the additional hours/clients she needs to make a living.

One of the 2 hoodies I ordered came in and I delivered it to my granddaughter. OH MY!!! That was one happy girl! I obviously made the RIGHT choice there!!! She showed a LOT more enthusiasm for her gift that anyone else I bought for! She was so delighted, made me feel good.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

28 this morning. Getting ready to drive an hour to hobby lobby. Need some fabric
Pat, I hope she works out for you. .

Victoria Harbour, ON

Wow LIndakay,my mind is boggled,we have same temps, what is with that? Not Joann’s? I never purchase much at hobby lobby in line of fabric. What will you be making with fabric?

Sure hope Pat she works out, will make life a tad more bearable..what you need is rest, rest and more rest. How are the Reno’s going? Always makes the heart feel warm when someone shows excitement over their gift..Melanie was extatic with her quilt frame..made the work I put into it worthwhile.

I’m trying to embroidery a story book panel, don’t have the right characters but that is ok just want to try it..already I think the ‘once upon a time’ is too big
Just playing..

Taking a break, sunshine is coming through the picture window, feels like summer..lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

Drats, just called plumb8ng company, said he couldn’t make it today, will call early in a.m. to call..grrr

Very mild out, everything melting.

Rita dropped in with timmies and donuts, spent an hour chatting, she is now on her way noth of parry sound, about 1 1/2 hr drive

Guess I’ll go to town, see my uncle and do groceries, maybe pick up chinese

Lyndonville, NY

mmm I need to make a trip for Chinese and a hug.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

72 now, it warmed up pretty quickly today.
I am making a Christmas throw for my daughter in law. I didn't have enough fabric so I had to go get more. I have all the green squares done, I needed more background fabric.

Went to Red Deer (1 hr away) and Michael's & Fabricland. Got new quilt rulers as one of mine broke, then at Micheal's Bob got knitting looms for him & for a friend of ours who's impressed with his knitting of scarves.
On Sunday we're going to a Ukranian dinner being put on in our community centre - costs $25 each, but we've had her dinner & it's good. A friend of ours, Dianne, is joining us.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Debbie, I ended up with 2 cheeseburgers..waiting for your visit.

Susan isn’t $25 eCh a lot of money for those k8nd of dinners?

LIndakay she will so love it..I looked at the tutorial on it by Missouri quilt, would love to do it,perhaps this fall..right now it’s finishing what I’ve started.

Spent 2 hrs with uncle Louis, he is failing butlordy what a memory, so enjoyed gabbing with him..I’d have stayed longer but nurse came in along with 2 of his daughters so homie came.

Didn’t need a lot in groceries, can’t believe I got away with $42 and $12 of that was for stewing beef..thought I’d make a stew tomorrow.

Dianne , my cousin who is up spending time with her dad is from Athens, about an hour outside Kingston..is she nearer to you? She is the one who moved to be near k8nston hospital as they had a new cancer treatment.,she went for 2years and is doing great, here is hoping it continues

Betty - it isn't cheap, but it's a special once-a-year type of Ukranian buffet-feast, sort of their Christmas, because it's on Sunday the 6th, and Ukranian Christmas is on the 7th.
After all, we've been to several "totally free" and potluck dinners lately, so we don't mind spending a bit more for a special treat.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Over 44 F when I went to work this morning, don't know what it got up to.

Sheet rock is up on the on the outside of the bathroom, shower/tub in, it's exciting. I am moving some bookcases and other stuff tomorrow. Hired a couple of kids to help. Let the young ones pack that big ol' dresser out to the barn AND the roll top desk!! My back hurts just thinking about that! LOL

I am hoping my sister and I can do some practice work with my serger in the next couple of weeks. I have EXPENSIVE serger and have not taken the time to learn to do all it is capable and that is DUMB!! AND if I get good enough at it, it's EASY to rethread (so my sister tells me) and I will then finally rehome some of my extra machines LOL

Sis and I are signing up for big sewing extravaganza in Pullyaup in March. Charter bus, over night stay and breakfast for just $150, plus $12 entrance each day. If my back hurts too much I'll spend more time sitting in classes and less walking and viewing venders. or heck... napping in the motel!!! 2 whole days with Sis, my idea of fun!

ice cream snack and BED!!!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

that sounds awesome, Pat! You'll get some well-deserved "me" time with your sister - win-win situation!
I've never used a serger so have no idea all the things it can do, other than sealing off fabric edges?!?!?!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

Mild day out there, like spring once again..

Pat that sounds like a wonderful few days away, you are 8n serious need of relaxation, even as you say if you can’t make classes or walk vendors lane you can go back to hotel and get some you time!

I bought a erger many years ago, it’s been sitting on the shelf for decades, keep saying I should use it but...

Susan, you are right, with free delicious meals you don’t mind spend8ng the $$$ once in awhile.

Been up early, did load of wash, vacuumed, washed floors and put fixings for stew in the oven and it’s not even 7 lol

Have the entire day to play, hoping to finish a quilt top and put it on the frame.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sounds like a great trip Pat.
What kind of machines are you going to get rid of?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Mr. carpenter of carpenter plumbing came, he can install that inline pump, willorder it and hooefully ext week will be able to have it installed.
