Best/Worse/what did I Learn today? Come sit a spell, these wonderful ladies welcome newcomers..come join us!!

It will in due time Betty.
I have had days like that.
I saw the Dr. she thinks I have H pylori, maybe gallbladder or pancreatitis. All can be treated.
https://www.webmd.com/digestive-disorders/h-pylori-helicobacter-pylori
She said a lot of people have it, and don't even know it, but for some reason, it can cause stomach ulcers or worse. I had lab work today, ultra sound in the morning, and I see a specialist on the 1st. I have 2 new meds to take to try and prevent these attacks.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I hope everything goes well for you, LK

Betty - could you have what LK has?

Bowling was ok today. 5-pin, 3 games, 119, 132, 191! I could handle the last one, the others were warm ups 😉

Reason I was so angry is that Becky is fighting for her life, her husband left her for a younger woman at the beginning of the year. She taught school and ran a horse farm with writing lessons so she stayed at the farm.

Didn’t he go while she’s on life-support and change the locks took a lot of things out of the house, put a security system in. Cannot believe a person so could be so cruel.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

OH NO! That is beyond low! SO sorry that happened.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Oh that is low, what a dirty dog.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

oh Betty - that's downright NASTY! She's fighting for her life, and he essentially stole from her and anyone else that had rights to the house. Dammit!! How can someone be so cruel? It's beyond me........

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I hope someone is helping her get it back.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Does she have siblings or others that can help her legally fight? She is certainly in no condition to fight for fairness right now. how sad.

Victoria Harbour, ON

She has a son about kyles age but he is by his moms side day and night..rotten to the core for sure!!!

Cold one out there 43 feeling like 39 brrr

Been working downstairs, need to go under back deck amdput last 2 tires in my trunk, snow tire time..Lordy they are heavy, called Greg yesterday to ask him to come and do it but he told me about Jamie then said he was heading to hospital after work so didn’t want him changing his plans..won’t kill me to lift them, it’s the rims that are so heavy..

Just put Christmas bags on my list, the beer mitts could be bagged and tagged

Know I’m annoying with my Christmas chatter but I so worry ‘what if I had a few health issues closer to Christmas” so want everything done early so one last thing I’d have to worry about..

Betty - I've started on Christmas stuff too - you're an inspiration 😁
I saw boxes of "Ugly Christmas Sweater" cookie kits in the store, and HAD to get 2. Each box has 6 cookies, pre-made, and you just have to decorate them with the included icing. They'll be cute for the Crafting Group.
Tues we're having a mini-Hallowe'en party @ crafting, and I have loads of decorations & baking to do for it. Tues eve, Red Hatters has their party, and Wed eve our Community Centre's Trick Or Treat party for the kids.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, you are not boring us with Christmas items. I personally love to see what you are making. What are beer mits?

Victoria Harbour, ON

They call them beer mitts but can be used for coffee, hot chocolate etc
One mitt is regular, 2nd one when you put your hand in fits inside a tube so you keep your hand warm

Lots use them for hockey

If it doesn’t snow tomorrow Joanne and I will go to Barrie to a craft show

Got my pop and last I’d chocolate bars for halloween

I have never seen them, but then again, no one here wears gloves.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

LOL, like us and umbrellas!! Go to the West side of state and umbrellas are as common as shoes but NOT here!!! Even in Texas my MD would want me to have gloves on. The left hand that had surgery is to be kept EXTRA warm to reduce pain, even if it's "warm out".

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning 30 brrrrr. Snow flurries in the offing for the next few days, glad I have my snow tires on...

I needed my embroidery memory stick for copying an elf boot outline so had to get up extra early and finish a hand towel for Melanie...if I were to do again I’d make sure I bought some brighter embroidery thread..

Might buy some while in Barrie today, just getting ready to leave, love craft shows, always something that wants to come home with me lol

Looking for backing in turquoise for my snow lady throw and Canadian tire has those pressure cooker 5 in all appliances on sale, will pick one up for Melanie, few more items and she will be done

Meeting Joanne for breakfast first so I’d better get a move on

Joanne fell in love with a canvas print with farmhouse and dog looking out of the window, didn’t know what to get her for Christmas so it was perfect

Bought an ornament for Roger, buy one every year in memory of him gkad I found it.
Saw a project, hope I kept photo of a sign with hanging keys for Santa’s visits, bought that.

Bought a pressure cooker, slow cooker etc for Melanie for Christmas..a new iron for me, a,ways like having one in stock, geeze louise seems I’m always buying irons but then they are left on all the time.

Joanne brought me a bag of fabric, most I can use

Linda dropped odd 2 extra large deco mesh rolls while I was out..

Managed to buy backing for snow lady throw, excited about that, more embroidery thread, bobbins and what else hmmmm

You have been bust. You need to buy an iron that will automatically shut off after a certain time.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Betty - the keys for Santa - would they be the project for those that are working on a project with you?

Victoria Harbour, ON

No Susan..lol

My iron does shut off automatically LIndakay, you have to remember it is used every day by me and others

I was sound asleep and Tom called, wanted to know I’d I wanted Aline’s fall outdoor Halloween decor
Now I’m wide awake

I’m always up so early that I plan on doing the craft protocol type, if turns out it will be great, won’t have to mail out , each can get their own supplies.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, high of 41 today with a feel like of 39, drizzle later in the day..

Sleep evades me so got up, had a bath, did my hair, enjoying a coffee while Ziggy is wondering why he had to get up while I made the bed lol

Friends Alan and Charlie are dropping in at 10..Alan had decided he wants to do some sewing, bringing his machine so we can go over the features and what they do..they have a cottage just down the lane from where I lived on the lake, will spend a few hours then head back to their home in the city by noon or so.

I’ve looked all over for the cardboard tracing for the snowman wreath so honk I’ll go downstairs, deco mesh in white a frame so I can get an idea of how many rolls I’ll need for each and to figure the snowman size so I know measurements for wood, need to cut out at least 8

Maybe an hours nap after they leave then off to Tom’sto pick up some Halloween pieces he’d like me to have in memory of Aline, oh how she enjoyed decorating for all seasons..

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Up early too Betty, Guess I have too much whirling in my head to sleep well. DD came for weekend and we packed entire sewing room yesterday. Think maybe start the kitchen today, lots I can do without for a few weeks. Probably longer if I was truthful about it.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Well by days end Karen we should have accomplished much..did you purge anything from sewing room while you were at it?

Decided seeing I was up early deserve bacon/eggs and toast this morning..cooked an entire lb of bacon, will refrigerate and I’ll have bots for lunch next few days.

Have the sniffles, hope it’s justbecause I tracked to back shed, had a tad snow and freezing rain..it’s a coming..get south Karen lol

Already came across one step that doesn’t work in my project..easy fix 🤪

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I have packed and moved too many times while we were active duty. I don't care to move again.
I hope you get a nap in today, you were up early.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

went to Church, then our Community Turkey Dinner put on by the Lions - just across the street, so nice & handy.
Now I'm making a new cover for my table top ironing board. Made one, but it was too narrow at what should have been the widest part. Good thing I had lots of the material.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I need to apologize to all who did not sleep well. It seems YOUR sleep angels were working overtime at my house. Not only did I sleep in, (8AM, 3 hours past normal) but I went BACK to bed and slept ANOTHER few hours... sorry I was so greedy.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

It's OK Pat, glad to share, you must have needed it.
We accomplished a lot this week end. Sewing room is totally packed. I have quite a bit to destash but will do after move. Most of higher cupboards are packed. Managed to send everything needed for kitchen to DGS and his SO who just got their first apartment. I was pretty sure I had enough packed away to do that and today hubby was able to dig it up. Blessings on my DD who worked so very hard all week-end and then filled her car with stuff for her son. I will have more for him in the next week or so. Going to tackle our closet next. I have several wardrobe boxes to use plus I know I have a lot of too big clothes in there to donate. I know I can now manage with just one heavy coat.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Pat - good for you to have slept - you obviously needed it!
I got up early (for me), went to church then to a turkey lunch at our Arena, then I felt like laying down for a nap, but didn't. Felt it would be a bit decadent, so stayed up. 😉

Victoria Harbour, ON

Poring rain here and in cool side..sure hope the rain trend doesn’t continue for Wednesday for the trick or treaters..

I’ve a tad of good news and hoping it continues to to be so..

Kyle dropped in last night, was time for him to order the snowmobile passes before early purchase deadline expired..he had just left the hospital, they saw improvement inBecky and took her off life support except for feeding tubes and intervenes..in the 2 hours since they took her off she was able to respond as to what year we were in.

Her perforated bowel is still a major concern, septic was was so indeed that is good news...she will not be able to return home (another battle ) tpfor sometime, will stay with Mel’s mom and dad until she gets strong enough ..more prayers appreciated!

Well I finished the prototype for 12th Annual Christmas workshop

https://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1491170/

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

That is excellent news about Becky. She is a fighter. Will keep her in our prayers.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Becky definitely has prayers from me.
I'll get started on the Christmas craft - looks good, Betty!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Happy Halloween..rain is in forecast for this morning and afternoon, here is hoping it’s clear for the little ones tonight.

Have had a sore throat last few days and the sniveled, been taking neoncitron, hoping it does the trick.

All caught up with chores so I’m going to play with the quilting snow ladies throw and hoping to finish seeing Halloween gets put in totes tomorrow and some Christmas totes will make their way indoors while I’m not having to carry totes from back shed dragging in snow.

Ann,Pat,June, joanne and I decided to have a country craft sale here indecency 1st so I want house to look ‘homey’ and withnever knowing if I’ll brill or not best get ahead of the game..

Do you all gethalloweeners..I get between 80-100, think maybe less last year because of weather..

Ziggy wants out and dryer saving clothes are ready.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I get sad every year this time. I haven't lived where we get Trick or Treaters for so many years. One place my daughter lived, they got hundreds so I would go there and handle the door while they took the boys out.

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

Usually no trick or treater here, either. Even though I live in a big neighborhood, my house and one other are down a side street that goes out to the busy road, so it seems no one bothers to come by. I buy candy, but most of it ends up in my candy dish at work.
This year the door bell's broken so, unless the dogs bark, I won't even know if there's anyone at the door, so will just leave the light off.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

We get very FEW, but I have lived in places where we got a 100. I buy pencils and give the kids a choice between Halloween pencil and candy and they almost always choose pencil. Probably because they get plenty of candy.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Great idea Pat re pencils..I buy 8 cases of25 pop and chocolate bars that way if fewer come I’ve for Christmas..

Karen looks as though your new home is in the country so likely no trick or treaters there either.

Deb, how is your daughter doing? Linda play sent me a glass Halloween pumpkin dish, tomorrow it gets put away, I filled with candy so maybe I should bag them and she’ll them out otherwise I’ll end up eating them.

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

My daughter is doing good. Still working crazy hours to keep herself busy, but actually talked to her manager about getting some weekends off so she can go out with friends, so that's a big step forward. For the past year she's just been working until she's ready to drop and going back in the next day to do it again, with only one day off a week. Taking her pup to my vet tomorrow, Mandee had ACL surgery earlier this year, and everything appeared to heal up, no limping, but suddenly about a month ago, she won't put any weight on that leg again. She went back to the vet who did the surgery, they xrayed and said it's fine, just give her time, but a month later she's still on 3 legs. Hoping we can get some answers tomorrow.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Yes Betty, our street is only 6-8 houses and a dead end so don't think we will get any there either.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

No trick or treating hear either. Everyone goes into the city to knock on the doors.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Wee little ones came out around 5:30, Lordy it’s almost 7 and I’ve only shelled out 12 kids

Going to have mega pop for Christmas unless a get busy

Victoria Harbour, ON

While waiting for trick or treaters I’ve started putting Halloween away..only outdoor decor remains..I will wait until 8:30 then call it a night..

As well as all that pop I have about 100 mini chocolate bars soooo I’ll make some treat bowls for the craft room 8nhooes others eat them, either that or I’ll be buying larger clothing..
