The roast was wonderful, had leftovers tinght .. the Blade roast came from the butcher, 3 pounds $22.00 !!!!!!!!!

Oh my "M" sure glad your roast was good. That's an high price. Hubby and I are so out of the habit of making meals, It will be strange to do so again. My newer diabetes med. causes me to not have much appetite. It's a good thing, I've lost over twenty lbs. since I started it in July. Had to get all new clothes for that last vacation. I had from some time ago a donation bag of clothes that were too small and now I have one of clothes too big. Another 20 down would be nice, trying to exercise some but difficult when legs don't want to work so well.

Betty - enumerators came to our door in Sept, but haven't heard when the provincial elections are to be. Seeing you post about voting gave me a start! I thought I'd missed something, but apparently not?!?!?!
So happy that you have a Dr who will do house calls & that they're taking good care of you!
Marilyn - the roast sounds yummy - very expensive though, right? We got given a leg of lamb and it was $24! Yikers! It was enough for 3 meals for the 2 of us, but it turns out that Bob can't eat lamb - very hard for him to chew, with his dentures.

We're not fully finished with the outside of our place, Bob's done the siding on the west side, and the front, but now working on the east side. The yard & deck are cleared. Now, to work on the wall in the hallway (for coats), and the flooring. We're really getting the home we want, after all these years, working with the one we have, and in a new community!

We have had problem in main bathroom & will need to replace subflooring, new vinyl, NOT replacing cabinet or shower. I got sticker shock.... $2500 to repair the tiny floor!!! ARRggggghhhh

omg Pat - I'd have sticker shock too!! And that's just for the labour? You said "replace" and "repair" - which is it, and if replace, couldn't you go to one of those "End of the roll" places (warehouse)?

Seems we all are having 'sticker shockitis" .. that blade roast about knocked me over re price, but, happily it fed us twice.

We had a tree come down out back about a month ago, lots of damage to the garage, looks like the repair work will start soon, over $5000.00 (covered by insurance)
Need a new picture window in the east wall .. it came in at $1500. and will be installed soon I hope.

Karen, DH is on a med called Jardience, it's a diabetic med, and, unfortunately, a diuretic as well .. not so good when recovering from knee surgery.

Rmorning all..heavy rain today, think I’m going to call Andrew just as a reminder that that corner landscaping has to be done, getting nervous it won’t be done for I just got back from foodlamd amd peeked at the beef, omg some of the roasts were as high as $40-$50 and they were not big roasts..I don’t know how anyone can purchase them but I guess they do..someone must have $$$ to burn.

That does seem steep Pat for simply the flooring and labour considering you say it’s a small area. Sure wish you lived closer, I’ve a roll of very expensive waterproof flooring that was left from my reno’s..sitting in back shed, think it’s 8x11?? Could be longer.

I slept well until midnight last night then had dreams all last night of the dead..wonder what that is a sign of.

I was pleased with elections, aunt Muriel’s fpgramdson got in as our district councillor but only by 35 votes, likely a recount, perhaps not..nice for the community to get young blood, perhaps much will happen for the kids

Betty, I think i have joined you with the upset tummy. I think it is my new heart pills, they were giving me hives, so I had to take a Zyrtec with them, now I can't keep anything down. My tummy feels like it is on fire. I have an appointment Thursday morning to see if it is my meds or something else. Gallbladder, ulcer....

Betty beef is HORRIBLE re pricing .. there was a sale on fresh cut blade roasts .. definitely a treat .. That recipe sure does an amazing job !!

Lorna was done work last Friday, hard to say if her Mom will be coming north .. a big undertaking for someone who is 88..
We are stuck re Piper and his diabetes .. meds and diet .. can't really bundle him up and travel all that way .. and, Lorna is far too nervous for fly down alone ..

We have a few cabinets & cupboards up. I was a little nervous about the paint I chose, pretty dark sage but there will be so little wall showing. Very light floor and white cabinets, big window with sheer white & pink curtains, the dining room /kitchen can handle the dark sage fine.

We got bids from 5 different contractors, this $2500 was one of the lower ones! and he can start this Wednesday. It's the subflooring possibly down to floor joicts, the vinyl enough to cover is ONLY 5 x 6!! It the wood and labor that is a killer. If I had asked my brother earlier, he might have done it for me but he leaves for hunting shortly.

We got the 94 Jeep Cherokee sold, guy is to come and get it today, we have his cash. ONE more vehicle gone!! Yeah... only several more to go! LOL

"M" I take Victoza for my diabetes. I don't have the bathroom problem and as a side bonus I'm losing weight, over 20 lbs. since July and Dang I had to get new clothes for vacation.

Dropping in for a sec..just sick to my tummy and not because of my illness..

Called Kyle to ask him to drop in before weekend as he orders all the snowmobile passes before 31st otherwise it’s extra $60-80 as of nove 1,when you buy 3 it’s a big savings

He was clearly upset, Mel’s sin owns a horse farm, he is about 52,husband just left her, she was doing chores, horse kicked her, she is on life support..prayers greatly appreciated..

LK I use Amazon for a lot of things but never once thought to go there to look for my marbles. Today was 1 of those days if I had 2 brains 1 would have been lonely.

Having a lot of those days lately. Buying and selling at the same time and in two states is making me crazy.

I tried $$ stores - 3 of them, with no luck. I'm going to check in a bigger town for them, and we'll see.

Oh Karen, I FEEL your pain!! My kitchen is still nonfunctional but at least now I see progress. Just trying to get the Othello house ready for sale was bad enough, and I wasn't moving & buying at the same time!!! . I don't ever want to go thru the buying & selling routine again! and with any luck I will not have to. I hope to stay in this house as long as possible.

When the kitchen and main bathroom are complete, I am going to get some estimates to add a 3rd bathroom. The guest bedroom is far end of house, beyond the game room/sewing area and you have to go quite a ways to a bathroom. Besides, our game room is ONE step down and I don't like guests having to do that in the night!! I would not be surprised when the 3rd bathroom gets put in that my son Kevin doesn't move into the guest room and out of the bedroom across from ours.

Our main bathroom will be nonfunctional for at least 2 days. I am REALLY hoping this is ONLY a 2-day project. I'm grateful we found someone to do the bathroom so quickly.

Then maybe try and put another Victorian Santa throw together...tripling to get all tops done so I can get measurements for fabric at Joann’s on the 16th..our Christmas shopping weekend coming quickly as is your thanksgiving!

Doctors office called, doc will be doing house call between 5:30-7:30 tonight and bringing flu shot..talk about service!!

Re: Marbles. Check in the area of crafts....or also in Pet area. Many places sell them to put in bottom of glass vases for decor....or aquariums for fish decor. Walmart has them in the back where crafts, vases and silk flowers are.

Regarding diabetes meds. I am on Metformin and ...it is NOT kind to me.
It makes me bloat so bad I can't button my pants. Doc put me from 2X a day to just at bed time, no difference. Not feeling gassy or such, but my stomach looks like I am 6 months pregnant!!!

Betty, good news on the house call. Did other neighbor continue to keep his yard clean?? He had such progress.

I could not tolerate Metformin at all. Think you need to have your Dr. make a change. There are many choices.

Speaking of doctors, I had 2 tonight, both hunks lol one is a student doing rounds with him.

Asked him about my nov14 appointment, he said that seeing the surgeon / specialist likely will result in exploratory surgery to see what is going on internally, did not care to hear that!

Got my flu shot

Finished top binding on 5 wine socks today, not a wonder I’m tired..

Had a surgeon wanted to do exploratory on me about 10 years ago, I refused, still no problem. He was insistant something was wrong with my kidneys.

Hopefully he will have other suggestions

Aww... my lusty lecherous friends! We have a new employee at work that my co-worker saw talking to me and she asked "WHO is THAT???" Yes, he is incredibly handsome and seems like a genuinely nice man as well. We used to share a client, he works for Home Health and I WAS the case manager. I got lucky and she fired me (requested a different case manager), he wasn't as lucky!!! LOL

Hoping to finish a baby quilt today so I can get it sent off. It's for my DGD in TN but shower is day after we close here and I just won't be able to get there in time.

Agent in TN sent message trying to change our closing there to same day as here but in the morning. I told her NO it won't work. We don't have a time here yet and can't close down there before here. We can close both together but we must close up here first.

kinda grumpy this morning - phone rang & I fell out of bed, on my new right knee. Have a bump, but no bruise. Stiff & sore though. Bowling this afternoon. I think I'll be fine by then, but obviously did no damage to my new titanium knee 😜🤣 Maybe to the muscles & tissue around it though........ siiiiiiigh
