Glad to hear from you for Sharon. Praying your back is all healed.

At the airport waiting on flight to take off in one hour. On my way back to Texas.

Lyndonville, NY

Safe travels Linda Kay, looks like you had a good time by the pictures!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Sharon - glad to hear you're withdrawing from the Oxycotin. I was on it and then moved to Hydromorph........ not on either now, and I guess I was one of the lucky ones - never suffered withdrawals. I don't think I was taking as much as you were though. I haven't taken the hydromorph since Oct sometime - maybe 3 or 4 weeks? I'm good now.
And, with the exercises I'm doing, my knees are doing better - more flexible, and therefore less pain.
Now that I'm approved, medically, for my Jan 13th knee replacement, I should be even better :-D

Victoria Harbour, ON

Afternoon, almost evening...

Oh Sharon, so nice to see you back with us..did you have another surgery??
Doctor just prescribed new meds for my pain, worried that it could be addictive, have to check. How is Vern doing? You are so lucky to have your daughter nearby..you are damned if you do and damned if you don't re meds..the one the doc prescribed for me is be be taken with my Tylenol 3, he said it was a very low dose and IF I thought it was helping a tad he'd up the dosage.bet your weather is just about perfect.

Met up with Linda and Sharon and did the Nottawasaga craft show, Dianne, down to 1 room, only one stained glass artisan and not the best..June had brought me a Primitive piece thinking it's something I might want to do with the girls, she wanted her piece back though so as the vendor was there I bought one so I could have it for template, bought a nice pressie for my Santa Warren Christmas exchange gift, so pleased with that..stopped at a little fabric shop, wouldn't pay prices for fabric seeing I'm going to Buffalo Friday bit did buy the thread cutter gizmo and then dropped into midland, ordered some wood to be playned (?) to 5/8ths and that is it

Drats, Sharon just texted me, she grabbed my bag and not hers so now the Xmas gift is not where it's suppose to be..might have to get her to ship it out. Grrrrr

Imagine Lindakay is either home or on her way home..

Missing Missy, just hate going into craft room😢

Victoria Harbour, ON

The fall landscapers did a wonderful job, pulled in and not a leaf to be found..all gardens done, what a relief that I will have no raking to do.

Susan, I'd be fretting as well, think when you go to emerge, need an operation and they schedule it right away there is no time for fretting but waiting weeks/months you worry beyond belief.

Can hardly move so eucalyptus Epson salt in hot bath, then try something called pregabalin and see if I can relax

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

Thanks for the welcome back.

No Betty, I did not have another surgery. I had my back surgery on March 18th and was doing really well. Then one day getting out of bed, got my foot caught in the top sheet and tweaked my sciatica. Then my surgeon order a c scan with dye and I tried for 4 weeks to get the surgeon's office to send the paperwork needed for the dye addition and I could not get it from them. I called, my daughter called and the imaging place called. Each time thy were either faxing it, mailing it and on and on. I finally gave up, had an MRI and had the pain shot. Have not had pain since.

The drug withdrawal symptoms took less than 12 hours to how it's ugly head. Worst flu like symptoms you could ever have. But that is all behind me. First time ever taking a narcotic pain pill and the last. Right now 2 Motrin is all I need.

Betty, I hope your day was good and keeping busy helped with your grief. I still remember Izzy when I am walking the dogs because she would always go for a walk with us.

Betty our November weather has been unbelievable. My gardener separated some hardy hibiscus and transplanted them. Those crazy plants, which were totally cut back, are now over 2 feet tall.

My daughter has been a total blessing. She has delivered dinner every night since I got home from the hospital and she takes us to Vern's doctor's appointments because I cannot yet get his wheelchair in the back of our car. And she does all of the grocery shopping and walks the dogs. I can now drive myself to my hair, nail and Dr. appointments but still get a tired back, which turns to sore back.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

I sent that because I was afraid I would lose the post.

Betty, all the leaves cleaned up is wonderful. So glad you found someone. We still have all the leaves on the trees, but they are starting to yellow.

Linda, so glad you had such a great visit.

Susan, how is your construction going? It is going to be winter soon in your area.

I have a whole bunch of green tomatoes. I need to determine how to make green fried tomatoes.

It is almost bed time and I still have lots to do. Talk at you later. Diane, I resent my sleep angels your way.

Hugs, Sharon

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

High of 54 today, will try and find a few hours today to finish winterizing..

Sharon, quite an ordeal re cscan...frustrating for sure but glad it's behind you and you are on the mend. My aunt Muriel had something done for pain, some kind of 'in doctors office procedure ' will have to ask, she says she also feels no pain, perhaps it was a needle like you..how often do you need the needle?

Seems you also have the gardens ready for winter..bet you still get flowers/color during the winter months.

Heartbreaking the loss of a furry, so quiet in the house and more so in the craft room..was up at 4:30, went down to work for a bit, kept waiting to shoo her off my projects big sigh

What are you all up to today??

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone. I am back home. I got here at 7 last night, last hour was in the dark, and last half of it rained. I need to get my eyes checked. In March I had an exam, and he said my eyes had not changed much, so I did not get new glasses, but driving back home my vision was horrible, everything is blurry.
Sharon, take care of your back, they take time to completely heal.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Linda, sounds like maybe the beginning of cataracts. At least it's one repair that is relatively easy. Glad you are home safe.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Bet you are missing dad already Lindakay.. You found him well?
Will take you a few days to get back into a routine, travel sure tired you out.
Best to get your eyes tested again

While speaking on travel I really should book the airport limo, plane leaves at 6am and I've a couple of hours to get to airport, then they want you there 3 hours before flight leaves so likely habpve to leave here at 2am, same coming home.

Restless today, maybe I'll go cut wood for a bit then Sharon and Linda wanted to do poinsettia wreath so maybe I'll figure out how to do one

Got 2nd tree skirt top done, have to go through scraps to see what I can use for the 3rd top

Big sigh, usually when I post Missy is there somewhere in the projects

The addresses for those in the Santa Warren Exchange have been Dmailed out.. If I missed you please Dmail and I will send it out to you.
The TH are just wild tonight - waiting for the Super Moon to night. First one in 40 something years.
Glorious weather ... my idea of winter.
I am in a battle with Purolater. I can't remember if I told you but on Fri. I was waiting for Purolater to bring some important papers from TO for me to sign and give right back to the driver. On the front in red ink was a message from the sender to call me and I would come out the lane to meet him. Not only did he NOT call me he put the envelope in my mailbox. The mailbox is a mile from the house. I am beyond furious.
Glad to read you are home safe and sound LK. Lots of great times for you to remember I am sure.

Linda, hope you spent the day in your PJ's. Traveling really wears me out and Vern cannot travel anymore and I cannot leave him alone, and when his daughter came last year to stay with him for a week, when I went to the California beach, it was a disaster. She was terrible to him and worse with my 2 cats and 2 dogs. Linda, I had cataract surgery about 2 years ago. At night, the problem I have is the other cars lights. I have decided I cannot drive at night.

I purchased an appliance on one of Amazon's 5 hour specials a few months back. It is a pressure cooker, steamer and slow cooker. It is marvelous. Cooks rice in 8 minutes. Brown rice in 12 minutes, potatoes for mashing in about 10 minutes. I used it today to make a pot roast using Marilyn's ranch dressing recipe. You can saute in it and then either use the slow cooker or pressure cooker. I made dinner tonight, for the family, and it was good. Even with the quick cooking time, it took me all day. Still going about with a half tank of energy.

Betty, again, so sorry about Missy. Your tree skirts are fantastic. You are so talented.

I have many flowers blooming now but because we get no snow cover, we do have flowers just about year round. I have some oxalis that only come up when it is cooler. Then when it gets warm, they disappear. They are yellow. I will take a photo tomorrow so you can see them. I also have pink and also white oxalis but they are above ground and bloom the majority of the year. Very invasive and you need to pay attention or they will bury your garden.

Diane, if I was you, I would kick someone's butt. I am also so looking forward to the Super Moon. I do not think I will be around for the next one, which I believe is over 30 years away.

Karen, how have you been feeling? Is your home remodeling coming along?

I have a load of clothes to fold. My house keeper comes tomorrow. I have to take a package to the post office and then pick up a prescription for Vern for his Parkinson.

Here is wishing you all a wonderful Monday. Hugs, Sharon

PS: Betty, if I had to be leaving home at 2am for a ride to the air port, I would not be leaving....

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

Been up for some time, calling for a high of 54, loving it..Greg dropped in on the spider and said he thought he would get a few more weeks of riding as there is one one day in the next two weeks that we could see the odd snowflake..here is hoping he is wrong and this stays with us til Christmas.

Dianne will compile a list of participants in Santa Warren Christmas gift exchange and I will start a new thread and add it to the top so as gifts arrive we can mark them down..getting excited?? I am, as I look around the hourpse I see some treasures sent to me in Christmas box exchanges..warms the heart!

Sharon, only thing nice about going that early is I get to enjoy the entire Friday, maybe even go to the flea market as I need a few longer dresses for Xmas gifts, those who mentioned them will have to wait til I return to get their Christmas gift..I can always snooze on the way to the airport and on the plane..well rested I will be..

Will have to look up oxalis

The unit you bought sounds like a must have..I remember grandma having a pressure cooker, back then you had to be so careful using it..what is the name of it?

Can't settle down, I'm keeping mega busy so I can get used to being totally alone, didn't find I was alone with Missy...so I did sew all day/evening and got 2 tops to be quilted for tree skirts...this morning I will start the 4th..need mega backing for quilting but I will have to wait for the weekend so I can get yardage to finish them off.

Then it's finishing dg Christmas project..get them sanded and packaged..want to mail out Friday afternoon

Moving family Christmas to Dec 11th makes me realize I've still much to do

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I'm feeling better Sharon, Hubby was so busy with caring for me that the remodeling got quite a delay. Back on track with it now, lots of plumbing work with rearranging the water heater, laundry, and downstairs shower.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone.
Glad to hear you are feeling better Karen. Did you have to go in for blood transfusions after your illness?
When I was driving home Sat. everything was fuzzy and still is, but when it got dark, I could not look at the cars coming towards me, it was almost blinding, so I just focused on the stripes on the road right in front of me.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

So far my hemoglobin is holding good. It's not as high as it should be but is not dropping.
You might need your eyes checked for cataracts, they can cause night blindness.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Getting old sucks. When I had my eye exam in March I was told I had small cataracts developing. I will call and make an appointment and get them checked again.
I wonder if flying will make them change?

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Seems I wasn't far between small cataracts developing to having them repaired. Coward that I am, I have to say it was easiest proceedure I've had.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I have heard several say it is an easy procedure.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Karen will Renovations be finished by Christmas, do you have your sewing room?
Now you must rest and build up your strength..

Lordy Lindakay must be something wrong with your vision..did you start any new meds that have systems of vision loss?

It's 2 days since I've taken the new meds so can't really say they help yet.

Niece just called, her cat had kitten 9 weeks ago, all are gone but she kept one that she fell in love with, says he is cuddly and housebroken, would like me to come and see him

Quiet in the house and is lonely...

Back to the last tree skirt, I'm just close to having it half done

Drats, I keep complaining about Windows needing done but I haven't got at it..should though

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I had cataract surgery too and the only thing that bothers me is bright light. Even the sunny days sometimes but it was the easiest procedure in the world. I had one done and two weeks later had the second eye done. No problems at all. And no pain or discomfort either. I just use my sunglasses more than I did before. Problem solved...
Tree skirts look great Betty.
Maybe your niece wants the kitten for you!!!!!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I don't know when it'll be done. The worst is nearly done. Changing plumbing all around is a challenge at best. With no help, it gets pretty tense at times. Our room is just cosmetic now. it will have to wait until after the new year. We need a new mattress and what we want is expensive so will need tax refund to pay for. Other than that we have everything and it's paid for so just needs the time to finish.

Betty sure hate to hear you are so lonely. Maybe a kitty will help. Having Ducky here has been so nice for us. Your niece would most likely care for it while you go away.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Yes Barb, Paul (her dad) told me about the kitten on Friday, today she sent me a lovely email..

You are right Karen, does want me to take it, knows it would be well taken care of

Kitty looks quite a bit like Debbie's Huck. She is a cutie.
Dianne

Victoria Harbour, ON

Now comes the deciding, mist a coon cat, don't know much about them except think they are big

Are you getting this lovely weather Dianne..you shouldn't have to use your wood stove right?

I'm spoilt, both Linda and Sharon knew I wasn't up to driving 1/2 way to city to meet Sharon 1/2 way to get the gift I bought for my Santa Warren exchange so between Sharon and Linda they made arrangements to meet up..Linda will keep it at her house until we meet up Friday for Buffalo so I can mail it myself..Sharon will get hers when she visits in the next few weeks.

Been sitting for 10 minutes, best I kick myself off the couch to finish other half of last tree skirt then I can rest this afternoon and do my own thing.

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

That kitten sure is a cutie! My mom had a Maine Coon Cat, I've heard they can be big, but her's wasn't, at all.

Supposed to get an MRI of my right shoulder tomorrow. I've had problems with it for years, and I'm really not planning on having anything fixed. But, my out of pocket for medical has been met for the year, and my doctor suggested the MRI, just so we know what the problems are. So, since it won't cost me anything, I decided to go ahead with it.

Deb

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

AWE! I love that new kitty. If it is a main coon cat, they do get big!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Got to take advantage of the 'not cost anything' issues while you can Deb.
Paul said it was a coon cat but perhaps it's a mix, maybe daddy was a smaller cat..I will ask LeeAnn though

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Looks pretty lovey.

Beautiful moon Betty.
So sorry to hear of the loss of your cousin's wife. Sending prayers for the family.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Betty - I agree, not seeing Missy in your craft pics makes me think something's missing, but it's good that you have your crafting (of-oh-so-many-kinds!!) to throw yourself into, will help. Condolences to the family, for losing Nan. They must be devastated
Karen - glad to hear you're doing better, and the reno's are moving along
LK - driving like that and not being able to see at night......... scares me just thinking about it!!

Our reno's....... tomorrow the Building Inspector comes, possibly in the morning, then Bob can shingle the den and the extension of the roof over the other half of the mobile (looks like I peaked roof for 24 ft of it from back towards the front), He'll be able to do more once the inspection is done. He's put in 2 windows, now has the door & 2 side lights to add (side lights are doing on the East side either side of the regular window, and the door is going on the South side).
We're supposed to get isolated flurries on Wed, and snow or rain tomorrow. Whatever we get, the outside of our den is "do-able", then we can work on the inside. Bob figures to get the den done before mid-December.
Our temps are supposed to flat-line at zero celcius for the next two weeks, so who knows. All I know is that the den had better be done and set up before I go into the hospital (can't have clutter when I am recovering) and I really want it done before Christmas so we can decorate for it and enjoy it all......... siiiigh

Victoria Harbour, ON

Bob certainly has got a lot accomplished..bet the peaked roof gives it a totally different look..yes, would be so nice for you be finally be able to decorate and enjoy Christmas.

Got the 4th Christmas tree skirt top done, had I not tired out wouldn't have taken me all day

Early night, tired but watch, will not be able to sleep when I get into bed..glad there are Christmas movies for me to watch

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Are you considering getting a kitten, Betty?
Lots of Christmas movies on now! Last year we loved watching Christmas movies - made it more like Christmas for both of us. When we couldn't celebrate it with anyone but ourselves, it was great to have each other :-)
