I get to this thread by clicking on this watched forum and then going to this thread. Did you (and Teacup) get here via your watched thread or the watched forum?

No, it was on my homepage showing a new post. It hadn't been sticking before then. The new post was Terese's "Thumbs Up" post.

I read it then went back to my homepage again, but it was still stuck there so I clicked on it again, but there were no new posts. So I went back to my homepage and it was still there.

I got off the computer and went to do other things. When I came back I clicked on it again. This time Teacup's post was there. After I responded to Teacup I noticed it was no longer stuck on my home page.

I guess Terese broke it and Teacup fixed it? (Just kidding you guys. I don't really mean that) :o)

I really, REALLY wish someone that has the authority to do so would start a new thread. This one is TOO long, and if things get all messed up again, we will all be lost.

Nobody with authority has posted in a while, either. Very strange situation. Sad...

I have to run til later today. Of 125 Forums, I 've checked and unstuck almost half. 8 remain in the 'could go wonky at any time ' status.(Seed Trading. Plant ID, Texas Gard, Hosta, Daylily, retierees are a few)

Hopefully Admin will be on line before I return. If not I have a few suggestions to run by you all and a new thread to post them on.

In regards to your earlier post, I usually get to this thread as a watched thread, but thanks for reminding me. I just checked and I didn't have this forum as a watched forum so I added it.

The number of forums I'm watching has been wonky for a very long time. Long before the recent changes. It always says I am watching a lot more forums than actually show on my list.

I've never taken the time to see if the list is correct and just the number is wrong or if the number is right and some forums aren't showing up on my list.

It's not that big of a deal, though, so for another day.

Terry - I just noticed something interesting. I don't know if it has any relation to the sticking forums or not, but thought it was worth mentioning.

Because the number shown for my watched forums has been wrong for a long time, I clicked on the link that says "Watching" on top of my watched forums (see first screenshot).

It took me to a Preferences page that is supposed to list all the forums to which you can add a checkmark to choose the ones you want to watch. That page is totally messed up as you can see from my second screenshot. There are only a few forums listed and there is no place to put a checkmark.

That's been that way for a long time. I think it's on the fix list. I think it happened when some forums were removed.

I don't think posting on the forums to unstick them is really doing anything permenate. There have been recent posts on the threads but they still remain stuck and one gets unstuck only to be replaced by another one. I really wish Terry would say something. The ghost ship returns....

Now it's a weekend again. We may not hear anything until Monday.

They'll probably "discover" there is an issue, late Sunday evening.

Don't know, but you just reminded me to update my time to Central Daylight in my "preferences" tomorrow.

oh yes... i have issues with that every year,

BUT -- not having time stamps, how much will it effect things.
I just checked and I was still on Central timezone when I am in Eastern.... since this "hiccup" - or whatever we are calling it... the time has not made a bit of difference since there are no "stamps" only 1hr ago, or 18 hrs ago or whatever it may be.

How true, Terese. It probably won't matter at all. There have been times in the past, even when we had time stamps, that I didn't remember to change my preferences and never even noticed the difference.

Well, it looks like we made it. I was thinking about the thread and forum watcher page bc that shows the time and date that the post was made, unlike the actual posts. I've never changed my time on my preferences....never even thought about it. Lol

I must tell you, I love the "back to top" feature. Personally, it saves me a lot of time. Very clever. Good job.

I certainly hope they bring back the "Back to Home" that was always by the "post reply". When I am done reading here and if I don't post, why would I want to go back to the top of the page?? I want to go back to the "home" page to read the rest of my watched threads. But, again, that is just "me". DonnaMack is one that likes the back to top.

Anna -- I have a bookmark toolbar and I just click DG and it takes me home. But I'm, with you... I like the "go back home".

Okay, I'm sure I'll make some enemies by saying this...but...Add me to the list of people who are perfectly happy with "Back To Top".
Come on, it only takes two clicks to go to your home page instead of one. What's the big deal?

If a Back to Home was available I might use it, but I don't need it. If I ever get in so much of a hurry that a few seconds matters that much there are plenty of other ways to shave a few seconds off of my day.

Nuts, I agree. I don't care how I get there, just that I can get there. Lol

I don't think it's a matter of being in a hurry, rather of efficiency. It's an annoyance, but like Terese, I use a link on my browser's tool bar, so it's not an issue.

Since Dec 7 there have been repeated requests from multiple users for a Return to Home Button for use when one has gotten to where one is going. Getting back from the store should be as simple as getting to the store! It's not either or, it's both and!

Using my browser to go back one page, or keeping a Home page open in my menu bar are >workarounds, not good site navigation is it? Most sites don't need me to leave the site for my browser, to navigate or use the site do they? If I have to use my browser to navigate wouldn't that site be 'not very user friendly'? Shouldn't every thing most users would want to do when they read a post or thread be available to do at the end of a thread? not just at the top or on the first page, right?

Back to Home would be nice, but I am so happy that I do not have to scroll up the page to get back to the top that I commented on it. Before, when I wanted to go home I had to scroll to get back to the top. Now I go back to the top and click on home if I want to get there. But I do understand why you would like just one step, and I think that you have a good point..

We have discussed the "back to home" link - which is a good suggestion, but there have been other issues to deal with first. I've asked Alison to start new thread - hopefully she'll get one started this morning.

Well this is all just too much for me. An extra free month??? Big Whoop. If nothing else I'm not watching this thread any longer because it's plain to see that it's a joke and none of us matter to any of you.

I spent hours yesterday afternoon trying JUST to get into Plantfiles. No way. And if anyone tries to say it was just busy being used etc. that is not true. In the middle of the afternoon on a Wednesday would not make sense. I am assuming it has been fixed. I gave up and was too busy today to look and see. Wow, that is quite an assumption! I can't believe I said that.
