Plant Propagation: The Basics January 2016

(Robin) Blissfield, MI(Zone 6a)

Awe, that's a little heartbreaking Ju.

Did you chlorophyll the Amaryllis seed?

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

wow Ju, You are rocking with all the props and their progress! Texas is a big ole beautiful state, would love to live there, but Joe hates heat so that is out.
I'd love to be able to chase chicks. I am not into politics, nothing ever happens from my interest/lack of interest anyway, just go with the flow.

one ibeam left to go... pouring the new cement friday. it is almost over on the west wall fix, another earthquake here might spoil all that, tho. the fraking in Oklahoma is felt up here in Derby all the time. I hate it.
what is the weather where ya all are at, besides Kitt, who is traveling and changing scenes all the time?

Anderson, IN(Zone 6a)

Debra First thank you about the props , and good luck and hopes with the I beam and concrete .

Robin their being in the Chlorophyll now , A few with a few without , A new thing ,

Yes , but he still has one to play with and they do ,,

Northeast, WA(Zone 5a)

JU, you honestly need 2 of them. I would never get another animal by thereselves. I don't care how much they love you, they still need that other one to play, fight, and Mingles will not forget Calico. I don't believe they have short memories. Candy still sits and looks out the slider. I watch for dogs in her category and age, but you really have to be out almost every day to eventually find what you want.

Gosh Deb, aren't other people in the area having the same problem? I would be so mad having to go thru what you are. I am terribly glad none of the states in our corner of the country have oil to go after. One of these days this old earth is going to split wide open and we will all be out there floating around on our own little planet, waving to each other as we go by. But seriously, isn't there something you can do about it?

JU, will chlorophyll help the Black Bamboo? Does green make black? Or all colors?

We're still cold here, in the 40s, next week they say will all be in the 50s, but night time temps are still down in the 30s. Snow is melting slowly. Bob finally go tall the ice off the driveway, so now we can just go with mud 'till summer.

Anderson, IN(Zone 6a)

Jen I don't know , I do have a few black bamboo Seeds though ,,I guess I will find out sometime ?

Anderson, IN(Zone 6a)

You know a few minutes ago , the door opened and closed ,, they looked around the house and then jumped up here , holding on to each other ,,
You ain't getting me !!! that look ,, I am watching ,,,

o my gosh I want one of those kitties .. *sigh*
Jen, everything will be okay, that is what I am telling myself, we might not live to see the day, but someday, there will be a big ole earthquake and it will be from all the fraking, I can't say let's wait and see, but I feel bad of all the youngin's out there.. it is after all, the world we are leaving them to deal with.. looking at the wall that was covered up in Charlies room down there, I see that the first crack was just "covered up" and then I had that one fixed from the outside about 20 years ago.. I just never saw anything except the guy that did the work outside, and I paid him and then the paneling was back up. There is fluorescent art all on the wall behind the paneling that some other teen aged boy had painted there long ago before my son moved in. here is what it used to look like.. ( second pic) I grew a lot of plants in that room.. then I swapped storage areas and filled it with stuff that could handle cold, since the new cracks gave us straight out cold air down there..I propagated a lot of plants in his room after he moved out..

Debra, your plants are so pretty, and healthy. I have one of those that you have right in front on the right. It doesn't look as good as yours. I think one of the problems is that I keep my house to warm. I am cold so much of the time. Actually I need to move around more. Maybe with spring coming it will encourage me to.

Love that room the young boy painted. LOL, he had a good imagination. I

Good grief, there must be many others in that area with the same problem. Seems to me you could all get together and raise some hell. Get a good lawyer. Have you ever talked to your neighbors about it? Did you take a lot of pictures before they covered it all up? Might help to have them sometime.

Who told you the plants down there were the cause? Did the guys who were giving you bids on your job say anything? Probably not, they are probably repairing everyone in the areas houses.
