Best/Worse/what did I learn today? & Santaf Warren Xmas exchange

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Yes, he's my regular wonderful physician. I asked him about my meds and he offered me a different dose - so I said "and what am I to do with a full bottle of these?" So, I got a laxative, and will only take full dose at bedtime (1pill, instead of 1 pill twice a day). I'll take the laxative at bedtime too.
He also said that my body should acclimatize to the meds in a couple of days. He was surprised that I had such a strong reaction this time, because I've taken this dose before and had no problems.

Good morning .. a foggy 30F outside ..

Hoping everyone who went to bed achy, has woken feeling not too bad off .. save and except Susan who will likely have a pretty tender toe ..

Betty, good deal from Janet .. any idea when you'll go?
I think Reiki involves pressure points in the feet ?

Having our supper at noon again .. then we'll leave the parents here (I think), and Lorna and I will go to the Cancer CLinic for her appointment ..
I still need to make the casserole for Wednesday, and, omit the onions as her Mom can't tolerate them.
All in all I will be busy, doubt I'll sleep, for the next 48 hours .. and, I am so worried about Gord ..
Ahhh well .. will do as best I can ..

Off to get the dogs in ..

Much the same outside here too M. Rain forecasted for this afternoon and to last till the weekend.

When I was growing up we always had our dinner at lunch. Usually for supper we had leftovers from lunch the day before.

Pups are still sleeping. They were up and down last night barking at the wandering critters outside. Once the rain starts the critters will hide and peace will prevail in the house.

Have to have new blood work done so I can have another MRI. Going to see if I can get it done this morning in case I have to go into Kingston to have it done. The nurse who works in the office can never get blood out of me. The 1 nurse that could do it has retired.

Time to walk the boys. BBL

Glad to read that Lorna's folks have arrived safely, Mom got her perm and the card playing has started. I'm keeping Gord in my prayers and will be with you tomorrow "M".

Sending prayers for pain relief to Betty, LInda and Susan and anyone else in need.

Hope the blood draw goes well Dianne. The pups must go crazy with those critters they can see but not chase!

Couldn't sleep last night - Norm was gone for a sleep study and I was alone. Usually that doesn't bother me but for some reason I wasn't comfortable. Really weird to me as I now know so many people here I could call for help if needed. Early night tonight.

I took pictures yesterday and will get them posted later today. I need to use Norm's computer as mine is acting strangely when downloading anything and I don't want to lose the shots.

Reiki is very soothing. It is the placements of hands and meditation and I found it to be wonderfully relaxing.

A nice massage sounds good. Just be aware, she will find a few tender spots.

"M", please know we are keeping you in our prayers.

Wish we were closer to each other Barb we could have had tea last night together .

Cleaning lady is here ....woo hooo.

I put the dogs out on the deck to give me a break from them. They are busy, busy, busy this morning.

GP's office called and I couldn't get to the phone fast enough. I can't call back even though they asked me to until after 9:30 as they leave their phones with their telephone secretary.Of course the next half hour you can't get through as everyone is trying to call them.

Make sure you do something nice for yourself today ladies.
Dianne

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I hope you can call them back this morning.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

yeah, sure hope you can call them back soon

Dianne - between the cleaning lady and a break from the dogs, you must be having one fine morning :-)

My toe's feeling fine - the freezing's out, but I suspect the pain meds are keeping the worst of it at bay. btw - took my pain meds last night, and a laxative. I'm feeling fine - pretty well normal actually. lol that's a relative term!!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Ummm does anyone else notice that it is early afternoon and Betty has not posted?

Not strange for me to post this late in the day, but worrisome since she was not feeling well last evening.

Hope you are all well.

Marilynne, will be with you in spirit tomorrow.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

yes, where's our Betty?

I must admit - I never pay attention to times of day that everyone posts.......
Bob just got a call from ServiceMaster, saying they have 2 "end of employment" cheques for him! Good, then we'll have funds again, and feel a little more solvent

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

The day started out wonderful.. Phone rang. It was Todd Gottschalk checking in on Mom. Always a wonderful way to start the day. Had a nice chat but had to get moving because Vern Winter had an appointment for a blood draw with fasting. It is always a challenge getting Vern to the car and his wheelchair into the back of the SUV but this morning, no problem. So we get to the medical building, no parking so I drop Vern off and then parked the SUV. Had no room in my purse for his wallet so gave it to him and pushed him and the wheelchair into the lab. I asked him for his wallet and no wallet. So I quickly went back outside and no wallet. Oh well, then I gave the doctor request for the blood draw to the lab tech and she asked me who this was and where was Vern's. I had picked it up at the doctor's office and could not believe they had given me the wrong one. After dealing with the doctor's phone system and finally getting through by going in the phone back door, hehehehe, got the nurse on the phone to fix blood draw request. Only took 1 1/2 hours. But had to have the blood test before the spinal tap. On the way home we both commented that it could have been worse, one of us could have fallen and broken something. Got home, in the house, and there was a call on the answer phone. A Michael Kimpel had Vern's wallet. Found it in the parking lot of the medical center. And he delivered it to the house. So if anyone out there know Michael and Eva Kimpel, tell them the Winter's think they are wonderful individuals.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

Marilyn, good safe travels and we are all waiting with bated breath for the good news.

Vern only eats twice a day. Breakfast/lunch around 12 noon and dinner around 6. I would feed him soon but he is never hungry.
I posed the above to my family and just copied over here. That why it was posted before any response to the day.

Betty, check Facebook. I shared something to your attention.

Vern has another Dr. appointment tomorrow for a pacemaker check. Next week we have no appointments.

Betty my massage used pressure points and spent 2 hours on me. Got rid of shoulder pain, sciatic and hip pain. It was painful sometimes but worked wonders. It cost me $200 but was worth a whole lot more.

Susan, Vern took Oxycontin for two days and it stopped his whole body from function.

Joyce, had your roast beef again. Excellent again except I added potatoes about half way through and they soaked up all of the juice. Delicious potatoes but little liquid for gravy.

I am heading for bed. You all have a wonderful day tomorrow.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I took Oxycontin, and it stopped working for the pain management, so went up to Hydromorph, and it was fine the first time
It's only 2 months later starting it up again that I'm having problems.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Just woke, looked at the clock and thought I'd drop in with a prayer for Gord and "M"

Win will be there holding your hand ...

God Bless

I'm here as well "M" sending special prayers. I'll be quiet while the doctor is there.....

Verona, ON

No rain here yet so I hope M and Gord have a safe and on time flight.I'll be there with you in spirit.

Sharon, wow that was quite a jam packed day. Why is it when you get older and have failing health your days are crammed with appointments? I found it so hectic when Warren was ill trying to get him showered, dressed and into the Escape. You must be exhausted at the end of the day

Computer trouble again yesterday. Grrr. I will take it into Chad the village computer guru when I go into the doc get my blood draw.

Whole up tired think I might try and go back to bed for a bit. Have to drink at least 3 bottles of water before I go for the blood draw.
D

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone. Keeping Goes in our prayers.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Dianne - kick the computer a few times. Rebooting usually works lol
That's a lot of water. I'm guessing you mean 8 oz bottles?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

sprinkles of rain, how come it always seems to be bad weather on Nov11th..hard on vets walking in parades?

For you who have family in the services please thank them for me for all they do, for all they have given up in order to keep us safe.

With Gord's carpeltunnel surgery scheduled for next week lets hope if he needs eye surgery it can all be worked in time wise so "M" can take a breath of relief..hard watching a loved one fight illness.

Lindakay you leave tomorrow for San Antonio, bet you are anxious, is this for another MRI or - consultation as to what plan of attack is?

Sharon that project was just too adorable, now you know when I've time I will try it..thanks for thinking of me. With not much activity in Vern life I'm sure the reason he is not hungry..amazing what some can survive on.

I too have started to eat my big meal around one and light foods for supper

Dianne, think Santa had best bring you a new computer..days are ticking and I want to mail out workshop pressie so I should finish my box today..all on my own, nobody dropping in, at least I don't think so..have 3 kits made up that I would like to finish so will play in the craft room

Barb, you went for blood tests, just regular testing or are you feeling unwell.

Hello Sue, glad you dropped in, wondered how you were doing as well..busy schedule in the fall for you...Joyce should be back should she not? You two are bad when you get together, wish I was closer to join in the antics. What health problems is the pooch having..bet you can see your bank account deplete big time

Victoria Harbour, ON

Lindakay, meant to ask, what did you do with the snake, making him a pet? Lol

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I hope my appointment is a plan of attack.

Baby rattlesnake is dead. I looked up on Google about rattlesnakes, momma snakes give birth to 8-20 live snakes. We found two and took care of them. Now we are wondering where momma and the others are. We have been here since 1998, and have never seen a rattlesnake.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Watched Remembrance Day Services in Ottawa, always a heaviness in my heart watching it.
The many wreaths being set, children's choir, the gun salute, time of reflection.

Reflecting on the post traumatic stress that is affecting many who have fought, the many who have taken their lives not being able to deal with the atrocities they have seen, so very sad.

We who have never had family who have fought do not know what emotions are being felt.

Lindakay just a few miles from here is lands that have been set aside as a sanctuary for rattlers..our National Oark on Beausoleil Island where masses of tourist camp there is one of them..snakes just terrify me

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I don't like snakes either.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Normal checking with the blood draw Betty. Nothing is wrong. I think they would have called if there were.....

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Watching Remembrance Day service now - very emotional. I had an uncle who died in the 1st WW, and a cousin who died in the second.
My father was too young for one, and too old for the other.

Barb - glad nothing's wrong :-)

Victoria Harbour, ON

Good news for sure Barb, pro active is a must, can find something before it's too late
Here I'm talking, need to set up mammogram appt, got a notice it was time.

Emotional for sure Susan, have uncles who lost their lives
Glad hubby and boys haven't had to fight.

Omg, went downstairs to clean and finish a project or two and do I have a mess..thought I took out roast beef dinner but nope was ham, here I was craving roast beef

Will eat it then back to tidy up

Missy looks at me as though to say, what to heck are you doing? Lol

Funny how quickly we can make such a mess when crafting.
