Couldn't stand it any longer, looked up Jackfruit .. 2 pics ..
So Katie, is it 'sweet' like a melon, or, more like a squash ?
Susan .. I pray (I sincerely MEAN that), that that KER is visted by MEGA KARMA !!! .. I think Katie and Sharon and myself should come to Calgary and open a BIG can of WHOOP AS8 on him !! But in a way he would NEVER see it coming ..
Sooooooooooo .. went to town, dropped by the cemetery (looks amazing) and am awaiting the RAIN .. to heck with radar maps, I find them unreliable ..
Would like to do a light load of washing and put it out .. probably will, and, just let it get a second rinse ..
We don't seem to have a mosquito prob (I should never have typed that) .. black flies though ..
DH and his wife have an 18th Anniv tomorrow .. course, Murray is working ..
Deb .. wishing you well with getting ready for, and, driving to the dog show ..
Dianne .. how's it goin ?
LK .. still mega warm there?

When jackfruit is ripe the orange part is sweet, like mango. When unripe it is used as a meat substitute Most of what I learned, I got off the net. Very interesting and could be a great local food crop if they live and produce. I just potted up three more and have two more ready for pots. Bot boxes from Saul to put a number of the little trees in plastic bags in so they can be dipped in a tub of water.
Jackfruit is the largest fruit that grows on a tree. They can be huge.
Had a great tasting papaya from one of our trees.
Still not awake. Catching up from the trip but doing better than usual.
hugs, katie
Doubt I've ever seen a jackfruit..mouth watering though it
Smiling "DH and his wife" lol..even if Murray has to work late you can go out for a nice meal..how many years?
Winds up, think I might turn off A/candles the breeze come in
"m" always some kind of bug to make gardening unbearable
Love clothes on the line, never did put mine back up since I closed in back deck
Lorna will work till??
I just added Markham craft show, apple fest in Meaford and Hamburg craft show on my calendar, must be thinking fall, all aren't that far away
Trying to fill my day in, going to town later this afternoon, will pick up Chinese..I've said that about four times lately and they are either on holidays or its their day off, sure hope it's what my supper will be
Drats, did those 4 wooden candle blocks, even painted in the wording but the black weathered wood was too big, so I sanded them down, repainted black and am trying another medium
Man that had all the windows called, he is heading out for a weeks holiday this afternoon and will give me a call me when he returns so I can have a look at them
How large are your saplings Katie?
Been looking at flowering crab apple tree and Lordy are they hanging low from heaviness of the apples..I should pick some and make applesauce..did so a few years ago and although small, just have to quarter them, they made the best applesauce ever
I was blessed Mike gave me the camera, but it is not very good except for close ups.
I tried it at the creek this morning, and just couldn't get much good from it. BUT, to do flowers and things within 50 feet, it is perfect. Or sunsets.
However, the birds on the creek...not so much. My Cannon is on its way home, so, Having both is such a blessing. And I am so grateful Mike gave me this for other uses.
Great news Debbie on both getting your camera back and for having the camera Mike gave you...did the repairs get done under warranty?
Yes, it is warm here, 103 right now. Need some heat? :)
Glad to heqar your old camera is on the way home, I hope it did not cost too much for repairs!
The tallest jackfruit seedling is about one foot tall already. Almost three dozen others coming along most of them one or two inches tall. But this hot humid weather is good for them and they are growing well. Lost one more but still have lots.
Cooking liver for the dogs. A little for me, too.
I still have my old room a/c in my bedroom. Will get the new split one in soon. It needs some wiring and I need to be sure Tony can do it or if we need to get an electrician in. I'm not going to risk losing Tony to an electrical mishap.
It is hot here, too. I've moved the hoses around and got the washing machine filled to do some laundry.
Hope I catch up on my sleep/energy soon so I can work with Tony. Luckily there is nothing urgent to be done so we can spend some time planning and considering options. Meanwhile, trying to keep up with getting little trees potted up and organized so they are easy to take care of. Easy to lose track and have them dry out and die. I have increased admiration for people who do this for a living.
Have some seeds for black cherry tomato plants to get started. Trying to stay awake until evening so I get back on an early-to-rise schedule.
hugs, katie
The inspector came by and gave me her card, then said she couldn't advise on the legality of the other stuff (only Health & Safety), but she encouraged me to speak to the Residential Tenants Resolution Dispute Services people and let them know about the other stuff that Grace & Robert refused to pay for, etc. They bought a double sink (because she said she didn't want me to have the sink & a half, wanted me to have a "proper" double sink), with taps, etc, for $25, used. The lever tap/sprayer has breakage inside, so it can't be used. There aren't 2 single (hot & cold) taps, only the sprayer that has both hot & cold in it. So, I'm using the sprayer hose only. Bob had to go out and buy a new sprayer head to replace it. I know that they're going to say "why didn't you wait for us to fix it?", but Harold tried, and Bob tried - just won't work. Bob was looking around and found a complete unit for $179, but then today found one for $21. Got that - cheap, but serviceable. Told him to keep the receipt - we'll give it to them when they get back.
Well, I'm putting the doors on the sink cabinet - never done this type of hinge before - easy and different lol
103' ugh lindakay, hope you are using the pool!
Katie, how big do they have to be to set them in the ground?
I agree, I'll try anything except play with electricity, paying an electrician is so worth it.
Thought I'd work outside tonight but not, I'll be up and at it early tomorrow morning instead
Was amazed at how quiet midland was, perhaps after all the major cities I've just visited it seems like a ghost town
Shopped on the Main Street , didn't find anything..went to garden centre and there was a nice self standing metal frame to hold a plant, like it, had a fern so it looks nice under gazebo
Fell in love with a metal art rusted candle holder, expensive, saleslady said they were discounting decorative pieces in a few weeks so I should keep an eye open so will check each time I'm in town
Finished Chinese, enough for tomorrow
yummmmmmmmm Chinese food......
103, LK? YIKES!!
