2015 FALL PLANT SWAP THREAD

Lucketts, VA(Zone 7a)

Heya, I got mixed up on this general swap thread and the general plant discussion thread and posted my haves here. Sorry, I'm going to repost on the other thread.

You got it Pat!

Put it into a VERY sturdy 10" 0r 12" pot preferably with hangers
You cannot imagine the weight if this plant full grown. like--30-35 lbs.
The fronds are just so succulent. They can also break off when you
move the HB around--hence me having so many starts,

It is NOT something you can, casually, re-pot--so let it grow INTO the bigger pot.
They also tend to get heavy on one side and the pot will tilt. Hence the wire hangers.

Good luck! I hope you live to see it bloom. I only saw ONE bloom soon after I got it (2005).
It was a beauty. Never again. may not like my dormancy periods or the climate here,

Google searches for ric rac and fishbone show a pure white bloom, this above is the pink and white bloom like you had.

Thanks for the info. That will make David happy, having the official name. I'll make sure I have a sturdy box for the pot to go in for save travels back here.

Thanks for the scientific name, Sally! Now I can add it to my online plant list!
