"Poor in spirit" means to be humble. Humility is the realization that all your gifts and blessings come from the grace of God. To have poverty of spirit means to be completely empty and open to the Word of God. When we are an empty cup and devoid of pride, we are humble. Humility brings an openness and an inner peace, allowing one to do the will of God. He who humbles himself is able to accept our frail nature, to repent, and to allow the grace of God to lead us to Conversion.
It is pride, the opposite of humility, that brings misery. For pride brings anger and the seeking of revenge, especially when one is offended. If every man were humble and poor in spirit, there would be no war!

Texas had a huge wicked storm go over about midnight. Lots of people lost power. I haven't seen the news yet to see what the damage was.
Cindy so your dog is Harlee? One of 007's first litter is named that.I thought it odd to name a girl that but now I know of two.I don't know what her papers say Harlee?? or Harley??. All sounds the same though so no matter it works.
Just gave away a dozen tomato plants and a flat of started corn. Starting the corn to be planted out works really well here
I bet who ever got those plants are happy campers today!

Yes Ernie, when I adopted her, her name was Serena. I had seen another pup whose name was Harlee and I loved it. So when I adopted her I changed her name to Harlee Serena. LOL and when I call her by her full name she knows she's in trouble :) Best dog I've had ever. She's very smart!! She's Boxer and Australian Shepard mixed.
Cindy have you heard about the new movie out called San Andreas. Earthquake in Ca. filmed in North Bay area. Looks pretty good ?. Its on Imax here in Ohio. I think they have been predicting that same earthquake for as long as i remember . :) Glad it didn't come as predicted. Love the pic of you and Harlee.

Sue, yes we are getting hammered with rain and storms. 16 inches of rain in May. 3 inches short of our annual rainfall.
Yes Sue, I've seen the previews. Yes they have been predicting it for awhile. But the guy that predicted it is also the one that said Nepal would have one and missed it by two days. Just hope it doesn't happen tomorrow on our way to visit my Brother or after we leave.
Boy LK wished we could have some of your rain. You do know that these storms are all a part of El Nino. And according to that we may get tons of rain this fall which will be nice but Southern Cali will get lots of land slides, not good!!!

I sent a message over on the thread, feeling kind of bad about it as I have picked up a few items, but as I said I'll save them to add to next years swap. I just need extra pokes once in a while.

Strange that I put an ad in our pennysaver for that boat and now after 50 years the magazine we get every day in the mail has gone out of business. And, I don't need that ad now. They never even told their employees. My feeling here is that young man was sent my way to take boat off my hands because the paper was going out of business and I'd never see my ad.. I'm always thinking divine intervention.
Bob was bringing a metal file cabinet into the house, and a piece bent and gashed his hand badly. Our neighbour, who was helping him carry it in, took him to the hospital after binding his hand up. I heard from Bob about half hour ago, saying that he hates hospitals, and that he expects to go to be seen soon.
I'm sure it will be a tetanus shot and some stitches.
Yikes hope that's all the cut requires.

Today is the "telling" day - it's when Kristen sees her new home for the first time (there's a stress....)
Bob & I were there until midnight last night. He was going to spend yesterday afternoon at her place, but then the cut happened, and 5 hours out of his day messed that up..........
This morning I meet her at 10am, then she has a delivery of furniture at 10:30.
This afternoon I have the security system being installed at our new place (what a mess it is....... ).
Bob's hand is ok - the bandage keeps falling off because if it's too tight, it hurts and if it's the way he likes it, it falls off. At least it stopped bleeding, so what he worried about (bleeding on the bedding last night) didn't happen. He's at work now, and I guess the moving around caused it to bleed again, but he says it's fine.
I am SO glad that the moving in is over, but Bob has more tools to get out of the porch and I guess that's me to do some of it while he's at work.
My knees - well, I know I did damage to them, but what else was I to do?
Another beautiful sunny day, but I'm walking slower since I fell and messed up my back some more yesterday. I better start paying attention when I walk around. Had to put another pain patch on this morning.
I need some prayers for my brother-in-law in Minnesota. His name is Bob and has had some medical issues the last year, now he has suffered a stoke and refuses to do the rehab the doctors want him to do. He wants to go home, won't let my sister feed him because he still tries too control what is going on. My sister is going through a rough time and I know a little of what she is going trough.
I need some prayers for me........... I met the woman at the mobile today, and after a lot of complaining and fussing, she paid the rent and damage deposit. An hour later she called saying (Again), that the place is uninhabitable, and that she won't rent after all.
She must have said it about 20 times "uninhabitable", and even when I said it would be "fixed" the way she wants within a week, and she accepted that, and then cancelled it.
I was told by someone (afterwards) that I should have kept one month's rent for the cancellation but by then it was too late.
And, I got locked out of my new place for an 1 3/4 hours (finally Bob got the message and came home) THEN my son unfriended me on FB because I told him I was talking to his son on FB and his son isn't talking to him (said I was "rubbing it in" that I was talking to my grandson).
Oh dear Susan, all in all a not so nice day.
