Hi!
I have a pot with 3 Ficus Alii in it, which I bought about 6 months ago. One of the plants began shedding its leaves maybe 2 months ago and is now almost completely dried up. I hope you can see the discoloration in the picture. The other plants are very healthy.
Can I just cut off the plant at the bottom (and maybe even hope for new growth?) or should I try and remove it from the pot completely and replace the soil? I'm worried because one plant is still rather small...
Thanks for any advice!
Ficus alii dead? What should I do?
I personally would remove the dead plants and replace the soil.. Something killed the plant, whether it was choked out by the roots of another in the pot or it was sick, plants do not die for no reason... Get your plants out of the pot and examine the roots first... That will give you the most information.. Are they rotting, are they water deprived, do they need a bigger pot? Are the roots of the "dead" plant still alive?

Thank you for your answer. I'll try to remove the plant today and repot.. It was really cheap, so I'd expected something like that.
If the roots are still alive, can I cut the plant and it will grow anew?
You can try to cut back the one that appears dead if the roots are still healthy and see if it give you new growth.I wouldn't repot it with the other two though, put it in its own pot. This way if it is diseased, or has other negative things going on you aren't risking your other plants.

Okay thank you!
You're welcome
