Cordyline Kiwi Plant

Sliema, Malta

I recently bought a Cordyline Kiwi plant as an indoor plant. I specified that I would place this in an area where a dracaena plant does well, i.e. average light and no direct sun. However, upon googling for more info about care, it seems that this plant actually does better outside, in full to partial sun. I found this very frustrating as what I really wanted was an indoor plant! What should I do with this plant? Should I take it outside on the balcony. It is south facing, and I have full sun from about 9am to 2:30pm. Climate is Mediterranean. Thanks so much!

In the tropics Cordyline do grow outdoors from bright shade to more sun.
As a house plant I would avoid the hottest windows, but bright light to help it keep its colors.
You could probably keep it outdoors through the mild season, Spring to Fall, but I am not sure about the full sun in the summer.

Containers get too hot in the full sun, and the plant that is not used to it can easily burn.

Many plants are grown outdoors in mild climates, and treated as house plants in colder climates. This is one of them.
