Beginner Gardening: Cordyline Kiwi Plant, 1 by MonkeyFlower

I recently bought a Cordyline Kiwi plant as an indoor plant. I specified that I would place this in an area where a dracaena plant does well, i.e. average light and no direct sun. However, upon googling for more info about care, it seems that this plant actually does better outside, in full to partial sun. I found this very frustrating as what I really wanted was an indoor plant! What should I do with this plant? Should I take it outside on the balcony. It is south facing, and I have full sun from about 9am to 2:30pm. Climate is Mediterranean. Thanks so much!
