Best/Worse/What did I learn today?Chat with friends old/new
Couldn't make the thread change work so I went looking for you!
It is a really beautiful day here today. Sunny and mid 70's. I'm on the porch having a little rest. Stink bugs are starting to gather on the screens. I think they know what's coming!!
let's hope they are wrong Joyce..so enjoying my day that I just hate the thought of going into town, but I must
Just run into the Habitat Restore, needed a new storm door for the front. Got a very nice one for $15. will be perfect.
copy / paste for the link to here worked juuuuust fine, thank you Betty :-)
big yawn,
got to mom's at 3:30, took her shopping, even took her to her mom's grave site, had to pass the time till we were to pick Noah up for supper..got there at 6 only to find out Noah was still working so off for Chinese and picked up dinner to Noah..by the time I got back he was ready to call it a day..told him to drive, he loved that..must pick him up at 7:30am and bring him to work but not without treats from timmies.
My grands all thought it was a big deal to drive my new 300. Parents thought I was nuts to let them.
I think I"m in the new thread?
Hope so ..
GREAT deal on the door Karen ^_^
Joyce .. 'STINK bugs' .. gag me fer sure .. hope nobody steps on any of'em !!
Betty .. hope the Chinese was good and the Timmies ..
Disappointed here .. the receptionist at Lorna's appt said she was supposed to have been there on MONDAY !!!!!!! We phoned ahead (thankfully) .. receptionist was VERY abrupt .. suffice to say the appt is now Oct 20 .. SHUT UP !!!!!!!!
However, that allowed us to do a ton of things that would have had to have been done after noon .. so, a definite bonus ..
Came home detailed my Toyota and Lorna's Dodge truck .. she is anal about how the vehicles look when her parents are coming .. they are now both pristine !!
Be nice if her Dad can take the truck, but, we"ll have to see .. he has had 2 hip replacements and the truck is kinda high .. we have a stool though ..
Just getting the veggies for the pea soup cut up, will start it in the morning in the slow cooker ..
Gettin weary
Take care
~M~
Sounds like everyone has been busy, with anther busy day tomorrow. Sleep tight everyone!
Morning all, early morning at that!
Hot bath, hair washed, coffee in hand..deciding that after watching a movie and not falling back to sleep
Maybe I will frost my glasses and it will tire me and I'll nap on the couch
If not it will be an early night
"M" sorry to hear their was mix up with doctor's ppt.
No need for receptionist to be rude! Want to come do my car?
Linda Kay what are you up to today, am sure you re as busy as well
Not doing much. Nursing a bad back, that has decided to flare up this past week. I went to the Dr. and got a torodol shot, but that only last about a day. Going to the pharmacy today when they open to get some pills.
LindaK sorry to hear about your back .. hope the pills work for you.
Betty, I don't want to detail another truck or car for a while LoL
Have sore fingertips today from poking into corners with the wipes I was using, but, the vehicles look good !!
Finishing up the veggie chopping and getting the pea soup into the slow cooker .. rest of the day will be house clean up and baking ..
AND, my chest feels awful .. sheeesh .. can't win for losin !!!
Enjoy your Saturday .. hoping everyone is OK .. Dianne, Mary, Katie .. there goes that 'Magic Mirror' again.
TOODLES
~M~
That's not good LindaKay..is torodol similar to cortisone??
Nothing more painful than that..feel for you
We're you overdoing in the garden?
I painted the frost on 10 wine glasses (tiresome waiting for paint to dry)' did 2 sections of the quilt and now sitting with feet up waiting for 7:30 to go pick up Noah.
Timbrr mart called yesterday to say the wood for Paul's sign is ready, must pick it up while n Midland
I so loved the 'magic mirror' "M"
We're we not in awe of it and thought for sure we could be seen.
Noticed the dealership had detail packages..just might have to treat my wheels to ne as its Christmas pressie.
Wonder how Katie is doing..worry abut her being I'll and being all alone
Toradol is a non steroidal anti inflammatory medicine. Like a strong motrin.
Sorry to hear your chest is hurting "M". Hope you get some relief soon.
As the day goes on the chest feels better, mornings are the worst ..
Toradol saved my hiney more than once .. I have some squirreled away for a 'just in case' day.
Wonderful stuff, altho, kinda hard on the tummy ..
Have the pea soup in the slow cooker, am about to make a cheese cake, then clean the kitchen .. Lorna has the living room in hand , she's a great vacuumer/duster .. have 3 very ticked off puppers who are OUTSIDE and out from under our feet who want to be INSIDE where, it seems to them, all the ACTION is LoL
Off n running
~M~
Yeh for dancing Sue, miss that
That being said I'm gong to a hoedown this aft
With kids not there sure hope you rest
Sounds like potent med, is it by perscription only?
The best fall day ever, except for all the leaves on the ground
Was thinking of using lawnmower to put them in ne area but do I have the energy, besides Greg has my wheel barrel still grrrr so no way to get them to back yard, maybe I an put it on tomorrow's list.
Having early lunch, was going to eat Chinese but keeping it for tonight so it's ham/cheese and tomato
Got the scarecrow out, need hay and a few more mums so likely pick up mums ur not sure where to get hay
Have fun Betty.
Yes the torodol is be prescription only. It is also called KETOROLAC TROMETHAMINE
http://www.webmd.com/drugs/2/drug-57954/toradol-oral/details

going to open the box with the compressor I just picked up, other one bit the dust this a.m.
read instructions, hot bath and relax looking at magazines for ideas, just what I need, ideas
Riley has the right idea
enjoyed the hoedown as did the residents
music had mom smiling and singing away
Hi Betty and Everyone!
What spectacular weather we are having...So I have been taking advantage of being outside working!
During the hot humid days that almost seem like last year, I had been working inside.
My Summer began fairly normal with the exception of traveling to Arizona. Steve somehow pulled together enough monies to travel. This trip was to attend my Nephew's sentencing. It was Aug. 11th. Oh my gosh, I was a complete wreck! Full of anxiety. I just couldn't catch my breath or keep my heart from pounding. Whew that was horrible. It was going to be the last time I get to see him for a while, a long while. Well he has a very long time for which I am heartbroken. This whole ordeal is just an ongoing mess. And What has been very heavy on mind is not being able to help, with monies and getting him a Good Lawyer. Well it was driving me way close to insanity. I've let a lot of things go here because of the situation. I was only able to concentrate on a few things at a time and those ordinary tasks just seemed to take forever. Well, during the early part of the Month, Jacob came home with a cutie pie! Flo is her name, a Green Cheek Conure, what can I say, Petrie fell in love! Jake wanted his own bird because Petrie is petrified of him, and was just being nasty. Well, I will stick up for my P. Jacob wasn't very nice to him either, just because the birds always making so much noise early in the morning. Yep are shaking your head? , duuhhhh. Ok I won't go into the Bird Fight we had but in the end it's all good. They still hate each other. It drives me crazy because J is always saying how he hates P and how Flo is learning bad things from P, i am about ready to throw them ALL outta here, LOLOL, Not, finally got fed up with it and told Jake their Birds!, get over it...thats what birds do, Chatter. And now These two love birds only want to play together and P is highly protective of Flo.... One day, we all were standing in the kitchen and Jake tells us how he is kind of in a predicament.
My eyebrows raise now whats up? Well, he says. I kind of fell in love with another bird and put a down payment on him. I am not quite sure how that's a predicament. His face lights up, big smile he says, half problem just solved. Now to tell Dad...not so easy, Dad says one of them have to go, uh right. So now We have Pegasus, an absolutely stunning Baby Cockatoo!!
Pictures to follow.
aawww love the birds Judy. so precious . I loved having birds. Maybe with Tim out of the picture i can get another ? maybe,,, still thinking on it. Sending you hugs and love . Your a strong woman , i know that was rough for you .
Betty glad you had fun at the hoedown. great pics , looks like you had a good time.
Jacob thinks Petrie and Flo make noise..... OHHHH I can just hear Pegasus grouching now in my head!!!! those buggers can make some NOISE!!
My guys always complained of the noise in the morning. the birdies are just saying good day! and wanting to hear where every one is. I was forever telling them just take a minute and say good morning, once they hear who is home they quiet down...checking where the flock is at.
similar to a herding dog. need to know where every one is. birds do it by sound.
silly dog, Chinook would go from room to room, room to room. never settled down unless every one was in same room. He used to go to Waylon's room and bump the door with his nose, being an old house the door would rattle, he would do it two, three, four times, until Waylon said something to him. He just wanted to be sure the kid was in there, and ok.
Hey guys, I lurk every day but I am my DH's caretaker.
This I copied from the last thread. Just wanted you to know what was going on with Katie. She probably does not know about the new thread.
Hi Everyone, the surgery went well I have a "dressing" about the size of a bandaid. Night at the hospitzal was hectic; I had a very sick roommate. I gave her my teddybear before I left and she was holding it and sleeping when I checked out. I'm tired but will rest up. I see my gp on Wednesday. Will have a followup with the surgeon then head home. Probably don't need radiation but don't know for sure.
hugs, katie

Morning everyone!
Judy I love the new bird, he is beautiful!
Thunder I agree on the noise, I have one parrot, and oh my can he get noisy at times if I am not in his site.
Sharon, thanks for posting Katie's info here! Don't be a lurker, come and join us.
Morning ..
SHARON ... I have asked about you a couple of times ... I remember your DH has Parkinsons, and, you have a dog (or 2), at any rate, so very nice to see you posting ^_^
Thank you for posting re Katie, we all wonder how she's making out.
Lorna's parents arrive today .. just a few small 'tidy ups' to take care of .. we're taking Lilly with us to the airport, she's about the only dog, besides Zoey, who will behave ! Even bought her a pink bow for her collar ....
Have a wonderful day
TOODLES
~M~
DG decided to get all messed up just about the time we hanged rooms. I think it's working OK now,
Good mornimg all,
Gee whizzz Louise, looked at books for an hour or so, dozed off until 8am, unheard of!!!
Sharon, thank you kindly for bringing Katie's post over..thought of you the other day, there was a show on re building and they were saying realty growth unbelievable..how have you, the furries and hubby doing?
Great news re Katie..would imagine she has to wait until biopsy results come in before heading home..she will have missed a few storms, thankfully all is well on the home stretch which gives her peace of mind but like most away from home can't wait to step through her door and yell out 'I'm home"
Oh Judy, can hear a bit of my Judy in your post, been hard going for you. What a terrible thing you've had to go through, difficult for sure feeling like your hands are tied and nothing you can do..heartbreaking. Smiling re Jacob, am sure part of the reason for Flo a d Pegasus was to make mom smile. Must say I rarely visit Suzanne because her birdie squawks never stops squawking, hard on the nerves..likely all are not like hers..only half a century she has left to listen to him lol
Do you let them outside NOT in a cage?? Aren't you worried they will fly off?
Sue, holy, you've fpget so much on your plate and yet you want to add another. Lol, never too many right
"M" sure hope it's a stellar day because they are leaving the best Toronto weather, same here, should be out of my Jammie's and outside
They will be thrilled to see how Lorna is doing after working this spring/summer
Fun to be had by all
How is the back LindaKay
Karen,how's the family visit going?
Big sigh
What's in my day?? Or what I'd like to see inmy day??
Cut grass
Put off white face on the wine glasses I have sitting here on my coffee table (like having something to work on while watching tv)
Try to get as much done on the quilt as I can
Put some garden art away
Be at Henry's by 4:30 for Bernie's 65th dinner
Dream of doing some time in the future several pieces of fall/Halloween and Christmas..that's what I get for looking through magazines
Now let's see what I actually do
Wondered how we missed it Karen..
Betty, meant to say how much I liked your front decorations. Too, too cute!
Betty, my back is doing much better today. Those pills really work!
Awwww. Just look at those little angels, can see you smilling ear to ear and so you should!
Have to keep the med in mind for my next appt. lindaKay
Just don't overdo today
Joyce, bet your day is filled with in the garden work right?
I'm having another flit flit day..flit to this a d then to that
Just looked through more Xmas books..Lordy, I would not be fibbing if I said there are well over 1,000.. Thanks goodness I put them by interests
Getting the urge to cut wood and paint. Lol. Saw the cutest Halloween bench. Hmmm
Sherry is giving me a glider and some chairs. So I'm going there today to get that. Tomorrow she's having a few ladies in for lunch and I volunteered to bring a pumpkin spice rum cake, so that's on the agenda for making today since I have a checkup doctors appt. tomorrow. Then at 4, a birthday dinner for my DMIL at Carrabas. So probably won't have much gardening time in there!!
Love that picture of the grands. Think that one deserves framing!!
Karen, those munckins are so cute!
Again, busy schedule Joyce
Drats, had I left early this am I might have made Sherry's gathering..
love my glider but no room upstairs and rarely sit in family room..ahhh not rarely, never! Only time is when Xmas tree is up and we are opening Xmas gifts..they are so comfy..will Bill take possession?
Got the off white faces painted on wine glasses
About 12" on the quilt
tummy is growling, once I have left over Chinese outside I go..cut grass then put more garden art away
Wow, why did I plant so many oak trees
I'm redder than a beet
Greg dropped in, called and said if he didn't bring me my wheel barrel I'd go buy a new one and put the receipt n his Xmas sock and he could keep the old one..he's closing down his pool, doing something to hot tub, winterizing the boat..apologized for not being here to help me but, this nice weather comes for all, it's get it done or do it in the cold.
Time for a Pepsi and a rest, heart just a beating..
Cut the entire yard, 4 loads of dried leaves, 2 od acorns/branches, leaves on the ground are those from the storm, just the start so hoping if I do it a few times a week I'll get most and spring will be easier re raking.
Probably about 20 or so wheel barrels left to do..think I'll do one every half hour and make it a bearable chore..thinking if I was insane to plant Bout 25 or so more trees throughout the property..nice and park like but this sucks..
Don't want to stop and have a nap though or I won't get out to make the 4:30 supper..
Drats now I have to bathe,do my hair as m soaking wet
Big sigh
Betty, you be careful in that heat, we don't need you to be having a heat stoke!
Rick moved out to an apartment with his girlfriend and at 70 yrs old this is the first time I have ever lived all alone. LOVE BEV
