Oh, I've had bunions for years too. Mine usually don't bother me, as Karen says if you wear the proper shoes. I always wanted to wear some of those cute shoes, but not with ugly feet. I think my oldest sister was lucky she didn't have them as it seems to run in families.
The heat is still with us, right now it is 99 and of course humidity is high. Went to get a few groceries and was so glad to get back home.
cool weather here in Ohio. brrrrr.
went to gym. good workout
any cake for breakfast is a good thing :)
Pegi are any of the fires near you ? been keeping up with that stuff. I have family and friends in CA. HOpe they can get it contained soon !
Rex is a young amish boy. i think he is 17 ? or 16 ? but let me tell you wow. That kid is strong and can lift an elephant !!!! He is a nice kid. I m glad the other young woman who'm i worked with is not there. She has asked me on several occasions if i was afraid i would be going to HE......
the nerve !
Very upsetting day today and totally helpless to help at all.
DGS & Wife April who live down state are parents to Noelle 3 1/2. Both work so Noelle goes to day care a couple days a week. Today April was called at work by a nearby school. This is just crazy...Noelle was upset because she had bumped her head..nobody helped her. She went into the bathroom...nobody checked on her. She managed to leave the building without any one seeing her. She got on a school bus and the driver never questioned her...Driver put her off the bus at the school where another student found her in the parking lot and took her to the office. They called the day care but only to get Aprils number, thank goodness they would not release her back to the day care. DGS is out of town for work, April had to handle this alone. She said the day care was very off hand about the whole thing like it was all Noelle's fault.
OMG! That is unbelievable! They should be sued!!
I would be beyond upset. Make sure they call the police and file a complaint. Then call a good lawyer. Did they have her Dr. check her out?
My DGS was so angry he called CPS, I'm sure they will be investigating.
Oh Karen that is horrible !!! im so sorry to hear of this. When i worked at a day care , i always counted heads. I always made sure each kid was accounted for . Oh my heart is breaking for them and you. Yes get a excellant lawyer !
Well my morning is a strange one, i woke up feeling hung over ? then as i got kids up ect... i m light headed ? . Took kids to school, i was fine. Came back into house and its light headed again ?
Wow those in AZ be careful , saw on the news its wicked weather out west. Stay safe.
off to the apple orchard.
Good morning sistahs and brother Ernie.
I'll be fuming mad, Karen! I'd be demanding answers and not expecting a careless reaction from the daycare. It's their duty to ensure all their charges are safe. Do they have hundreds of kids that the failed to notice one missing????? Unforgivable!! Smart of the school not to release her back to the daycare. I hate litigations, but this is a necessary one. Noelle's safety shouldn't be ignored.
My godson was scratched badly at his daycare when he was 3. His mother brought that to their attention, and they had promised to watch the abuser and call his parents. Though she's a forgiving person, she took pictures of his injuries.
But two days later, when she picked him up, he had bite marks!
She bought their house with the
money won from the law suit. The authorities in Indiana closed the daycare.
Dizziness could be from your blood pressure, Sue. Maybe you're pregnant?
LK, some of my gingers took 3 years to bloom. Once in bloom, butterflies fight over the nectar! I'm glad you have plenty of patience.
Waving to Pegi... Susan.. Barb.. Thunder.. Marion..
Cookie, let me know how the transition goes for that big brug you'd be digging out. At least you have space for it.
Sis Kathy, hope you're not pushing too hard to get your daughter and Kaden settled.
Don't blame Ernie for not coming up for air. Got to get that project done before cold sets in.
Didn't follow tv, except for football. My moods isn't up to anything depressing.
At least I had some rest, antibiotics seem to be working fast. Sure miss my high fiber foods though.. just till the IBS is cleared.
It helps too when Kel is called to work extra days. Won't miss his snoring.
DD coffee and bagels this time.
my goodness, Karen - blaming it on Noelle? That's just ridiculous! She's at a dayCARE, and apparently they don't take CARE of her.........or care FOR her.....they are NOT doing their job!!!
Sue if you were fine, and got dizzy again when you went back into the house, make sure you don't have the gas stove leaking, or check your furnace. Make sure it is working properly!
That's a good suggestion, LK.
Morning Susan!
My boys and I got carbon monoxide poisoning years ago, due to a furnace not working properly on a base we were living in! It is not fun. The headaches were unbearable! We all went to the hospital, and had to breath oxygen for the day!
Good call Linda, It was my first thought also.
Distressing news about Noelle. I sure would have been frantic about his time. I hope all goes well now.
Carbon monoxide poisoning almost killed my friends in Mn. a number of years ago. They called son and he called 911 and they spent time in the hospital in some kind of chamber. If she hadn't waken up because she was cold they wouldn't be here today. We bought a couple of monitors to put in the house, but DH didn't get them put up, another job for my son to do. I better start making a list of things that HAVE to be done.
Fires aren't near me Sue, thank God. And, flooding and damage in some places and we have yet to see any rain. Not a cloud in the sky today, and they forecast rain. I'll be waiting.
Getting some ad pop ups again and everything running slow. Guess the Geek Squad needs to be called. Paying for their services so sure am going to use them.
I had quit the gas service, and everything is electric.
Remembering my late MIL that had left a gas on, but the pilot light wasn't working, so you can't see flames but smell the leak. Thank God, the windows were fully opened to let some cool breeze in.
She had early stages of alzheimers then.
After all the scary news about Noelle and her daycare (Thank heaven she is okay) I thought you might like to hear about something uplifting. You all know about my grandson Brandon and his love affair with horses. He has started his freshman year at college and is taking two majors one of which is Western Equine Studies. He has many responsibilities at their barn and rides daily. He was advised by his coach to try out for the college equestrian team (competitive). There were 150 eligible to try out and only 50 get selected. AND HE MADE IT!!! He is so excited.
And then, as if that weren’t enough, as he was leaving the barn Monday afternoon these big trailers pulled in and it was one of the Budweiser Clydesdales Hitches…. They are being housed at his barn while they are in the area for appearances. He was so excited to see them. And then----- he was told if he volunteered to park cars, that he could help get them ready to show and could have dinner with the trainers. He was over the moon. It was last night and he talked with one of them for over an hour. And then ----She gave him a number to call to see if he could intern at the Clydesdale facility here in New Hampshire during his summers. So many “and thens”!!!! Norm and I are so thrilled for him as we have seen how hard he worked to get there. It is rewarding to see him get some perks!!!
He must be over the moon, Barb!!! Very rare opportunities indeed that I truly believe God had lined them up for him! Congrats to those collective 'and thens' Brandon.
Wow! Wow! Wow! Barb, he must indeed be over the moon. How awesome all that is for him.
My God granddaughter (my daughter is her god mother) fell totally in love with horses when she was about 4 and I bought one for my grandkids. She came out to the farm and was jumping up and down excited to ride him. That's all it took, she told me she was saving her "green dollars" so she could buy Joe from me. By age ten she was totally engrossed in equestrian. She worked cleaning the stables in exchange for lessons. Finally her dream came true and she got her own horse, Gulliver. She's now in college, on the equestrian team and has Gully there with her. She enters meets all over the state and has spent time in Kentucky. Her mama dressed her in pink & laces but it was always horses for her.
The closest I've been around horses, were at the race tracks, Karen!
I was always frightened of them, I was knocked down when I was little. The one we got the kids was retired off a ranch out west. I over paid for him and he was worth every penny. Kids named him Joe, he was so gentle and awesome with them. He's the first horse I ever willingly touched, him I could pet and hug
At least you get to pet a horse and overcome your fear.
Karen, I just told a fib!!! I had forgotten all about Thunder, a retired quarter horse that ex DH and his best friend co owned. So said to ride around the property with.
I refused to ride on it as it's taller than me. They kept saying how smart Thunder was.. etc.. etc.. and that horses are the smartest creatures on earth.
Well, for a smart horse he won't go under his shed when it rains.
I'm glad that I don't have to feed it nor groom it.
Barb that is awesome. Congrats to your grandson for all his accomplishments.
Thanks friends. He talked with us for a few minutes this afternoon and he is just so excited!!! Rarely do I boast but he sure is one to boast about. Such a good boy/man.....
That whole story brought a smile to me!!
He is not too far from you Joyce. He is at University at Findlay!!! Ohio!
Hope he has a great run there!!
i seem to be feeling better. I don't feel any worse. So i think i can excuse carbon monixide ? but yes i was wondering if it could be enviormental . but since its not getting worse .
i ate protien today so i think that helped.
Barb congrats on the grandsom
LK how scary about your CM poisoning
Pegi glad the fires are not near you.
MS.Jaye you hush your mouth !!!!!! me pregnant !! .... Bwhahahahaha well i guess if miracle births can happen to Mary and Joseph,,,,,, ? ... oh hush you.
picture with the horse says it all Barb. congrats to him. ^_^
great!!
What amazes us about that picture is that Brandon is six feet tall and only comes to the horses shoulder!!!!! They are huge animals.
What wonderful news Barb. You have very good reason to brag!!!! Please keep us posted on his future progress, I for one am really interested. One of Kim's former students is into riding and we have really enjoyed watching her progress.
Mornin' everyone. Well my trip to the dentist was just that....a trip. Because the tooth is not bothering me it was decided to wait to start working on it until after I return from the family reunion. He did say I did a very good job breaking it. Actually I think it had a crack and it was just time! It broke down to the gum line and he doesn't want to be messing with it and me going out of town. A couple of weeks reprieve.
Hope everyone has a fantastic day doing whatever pleases you.
Good morning sistahs and Ernie and those lurking!!
Then I'd be a dwarf next to those Clydesdale, Barb. That will look good on his career resume
Sorry Sue, can't help but wonder. You and Tom will make a good looking baby together. Glad that you've overcome that light headed spell.
Marion, we know you'll have a blast at the reunion. Is this on Ross' side, or yours?
Ouch on that broken tooth. Dentists are necessary evils for sure.
Doing whatever pleases me.. hmm.. just ho humdrum routine this morning. Hoping to get Kel to agree in taking me to town. Then maybe catch some football later this evening.
Oooops.. I forgot.. the books came in Karen!!
Read the first few pages and I'm in love with Barnabas!!! Thanks for the recommendation! Will squeeze in some reading too, and knowing me, I won't be putting it down till I finish it today.
This is my side of the family...I am hoping it will be fun. With some of my relatives you can never tell! Of course I think that is the way it is with all families.
LOL, I am so understanding about not putting a book down..This Outlander series has got me!!! Even got Sue (sister) hooked. Kim said it was about time as she has only been after me for about 20 years to read them. So I am a slow learner. :-)
Kathy, where are you and how are you?
Just got home from Physical Therapy, now have to take the grandson school clothes shopping. His mother hasn't enrolled him in school yet because you have to go through an act of congress to do it. Hopefully by tomorrow we will have every thing we need to take to the board of education. Been very busy, no time for puters, or any fun. :(
Afternoon everyone!
Ernie, how is the remodeling going? Just about done? Hope you got your computer running smoothly also!
Kathy, it sounds like you have the family there. Hope the registration gets done quickly.
Jaye, I hope you got Kel to take you to town for your shopping?
Hey LK, no shopping. Sleeping Beauty said he didn't get enough beauty sleep, so I did the only thing I could, shop WM online!! Delivery is free for 50 over purchases. Can only order non perishable items, but that's fine. He should be happy with canned tuna!! Lol.
For now, I'm down with Bookatitis!!! Darn, a NC'nian author that isn't even celebrated here and she's GOOD. Kel says it's about time I bury my head in some light hearted comedy instead of mayhem and murder.
Marion, will your Canadian relatives be there? They sure could fix you some buttertarts.
Sis Kathy, don't forget to consume some carbos. They are the only food source to give you energy.
I wish there's a gym in town, Sue. Can do some tone up for this svelte body!
