Yes this is the 2nd time I have met Betty, such a wonderful lady for sure! we will spend the day on the river walk, and she wants to see some night life, so no telling what we will find?
Sorry your sinus' are acting up!
Room 290 at the Sweet Interruptions Hotel..
Now you'll be one up on me Linda.
One up on me too Karen! Her mind's so active and never tired of coming up with creative ideas. Oh to have one tenth of her energy!!
Night life? Just make sure there are tables for her to dance on, LK!!
After DG, I'll be shopping online Sis Kathy.
I think I will keep her on the floor. She does not need to go back home bruised and battered!
Good luck on trying LK!!
Make sure you have help when there's an Elvis around! Lol!
I'll make sure I have my camera ready!
what ya shopping for sis?
tonight enjoying italian salami , gouda cheese and a nice bottle of red wine. Tom is making steaks and salad.
Thunder so happy son is coming in for a visit. I can't imagine how excited you are ! .
LK have fun with Betty. Can't wait for our next gathering. its at my place .
cool and not really summer weather here .
Hey Sue, nice to have a man around that will cook for you. It got a little cooler today and I'm enjoying it. A little rain would sure help too. I think I would go out and sit it it.
My brother and sister-in-law just came back from New Orleans. The Elk's lodge was having a convention there and since he is their exalted ruler for the year they got a nice free trip. I guess brother didn't feel too good with the high humidity. I think he was glad to get back home.
Got lots to do, but it isn't something that doesn't have to be done right now. I'm surprised that the social worker from hospice said they will pay a month's mortgage for me. That would surely help me out. Probably will be in Sept. and I really do have something to be thankful for. God is watching out for me.
Sis Kathy, some fabric of course. I had sworn off riding with Kel to the beach as he can't control his road rage! Serious, a short distance, or in town is fine, as I can find someone to bring me home, but long distance. I'm like a prisoner!! So... I much prefer the quiet of my living room. It's bad when I can't do long distance driving.
He thought I was kidding, got to keep my sanity you know.
Man you're lucky Sue! Does Tom do laundry? He's a keeper for sure, enjoy his pamperings.
Pegi, that's great news that a month's mortgage will be taken care of!! God is great!!
Hang in there sister. Soon, you'd get use to your new 'schedule'. Each time when you think your steps too heavy for the day... remember that we'd be right behind you.. ushering you to move along as it's gonna be okay.
I miss New Orleans. Would just take off in the early morning hours when I can't sleep just to have breakfast at Cafe Du Monde.
I have this terrible eye pain, must be the sinus. Took some sinus meds, but don't seem to help. So, reluctantly, I overdose on some Advil.
That helps a lot!! Think I'll take some more before bed.
What did I do today, besides fabric shopping? Sleep, eat.. shop.. feed the kids and no cutting nor sewing done! Maybe tomorrow.
Good night sistahs. LK and Betty, have fun.
I am very happy for you. May this honeymoon phase be forever, for the both of yoU!!
Kel's training had to be reinforced time after time. He quit cooking for me, and only time he helps with laundry is when he runs out of socks!!!
Morning everyone!
Sue he sounds like a keeper for sure!
Jaye, sure hope your feeling better today, and all pain has gone from your eye! Sinus pressure is terrible!
Jaye, maybe you should take an extended vacation to remind Kel how important you are to him!! You could come to Ohio!! :o)
Or northern MI, very cool here weather wise, nothing to do but sit on the deck and watch the critters play.
Or Texas!
See? There you go, Jaye!
or Alabama, where the maters are ripe!
Good morning Sistahs!! You are all tempting me!!!
Cookie, a day at your pond and a plate of your brisket in my lap, that would chase anypne's stress away!! Oh to see Sue again and perhaps Synda could join us!
If I had the means, I'd be travelling to ALL my sistahs' homes. First stop will be California! Someone have to give Pegi a REAL hug on behalf of all! Then perhapd drag Pegi along to visit Cindy.
Then off to Texas! Will stay in Houston first, extended family will kill me if they found out I see LK ahead of them!!! LK, you and I will try out some authentic Mexican food and pack some Julio's!
Down to Florida after that! THREE beautiful sistahs. I'd be having a blast with quilting lessons and poring over Christina's pictures. Oh.. would have to bring some Vicks.
Read that.. no gardens.. just indoors!!!
Maybe enjoy some Cuban food too when I'm there.
Move up to Alabama. There I can't stay long, knowing me, if more than a day, I'd want to LIVE there with my sister!! And that's bad!! I'd be big as her house with all that good cooking!
Then make my way to Ohio.. then Michigan..
Oh the laughs we'd have, Karen! I'll get to see some of your grands and great grands and maybe see your daughter's creations.
May this dream come true for me. It's hard being poor!!!
Yes Cookie, Kel might miss me .. but he'd take out and just buy more socks!!
Cool today, staying indoors and I'm trying my darndest to motivate myself to get some fabric cut!
Cooler and wet...will not complain as we needed it so badly! Of course that means more large dead limbs falling but as long as no one get hurt or property damage, I am okay.
Jaye, there is always a bed ready for you at my home. We could sew, sew, sew and more sewing; maybe then we could made a dent in this accumulation of fabric I have stashed.
Sue, lucky lady. I miss Ross making waffles on Sunday mornings. He made the waffles, his dad made the waffles and yes, Charles makes the waffles at his home. Oops! Wonder who will carry on the tradition as there are no grandsons. :-( Tom sounds like a rare jewel....you are long overdue for one.
Yet another problem with the on going kitchen saga. Not up to dealing with it currently so maybe later. I am either going back to bed and pull the covers over my head or go outside and eat wooly worms.
Just pick up that rotary cutter and slice away Jaye! It's only fabric, and you will be so please with your finished quilt!
Sorry to hear about more kitchen problems Marion! Hope they are not major problems!
good morning ladies
Tom made my coffee this morning. Yes i guess i will keep him around. :)
Jaye we shall see eachother soon. I m still hoping to come to your area around the holidays.
off and running. have to get back home . don't have time to see Cookie on my way home :(
kids have 4H meetings all day
smiles
Hope so Sue. What are the kids' assignments for 4H? Be careful on the roads.
Poor you Marion. Get out your magazine stash and relax. So sorry that your plans aren't going well, especially when you depend on hired help.
What a wonderful tradition, maybe the girls can continue with that. Sunday morning sleep in seems to be the current tradition here!
Yes LK. I'm gathering batik strips and cutting them down to the lengths needed for lanterns. Got two brand new rotary cutters, and stupid me, forgot where I put them and ordered another online! After the order, I found them! Sigh.. getting old isn't good for these brain cells!
My country grands do rabbits and goats in 4-H. I love to go to their fair every year. Just the right size, you only need to look at so many cow butts. When we lived downstate we were close to the state fair and it was so big you could barely do it in a day. I want to go to our county fair too as we are looking for a nice Buck rabbit.
Sounds like a lot of work, doing the county fairs? Sue, what does Tom do for work?
I would love to go to our County fair, but a 6 & 1/2 hour drive one way to Dallas is a bit much!
I've never been to any state fairs, but a 'parish' fair in Lafayette, Louisiana. Didn't see any 4H stuffs, as that's in the morning. Did see Trace Adkins in the evening! Enjoyed the foods and crafts though.
Awwwe, Jaye, you are so sweet, "Hugs to you" :]
You are so thoughtful (about all who you would visit if you could). Wish you would stop having headaches. Maybe see a doctor about it or get on an allergy regime.
If I ever won the lottery, I would give some to Jaye and others on here.
Love yas.
LK, do you have any hostas that grow in TX?
finished up with our meeting and skillathon.
Tim is being awful nice to me ??? gave me some extra money ... hmmmm... ???
Jaye start thinking about Nov. I m heading your way girl . so far .
i do enjoy the quilts at our fair. some are just amazing !
i may do a painting ? nothing special. LOL splotches and what not.
Joyce, I have not tried hostas down here. From what I have read they don't like the heat, and I don't have much shade for them.
Sue, it is nice to hear Tim is helping out!
Well, sorry I do not have anything exciting, or miserable to say.
I meant that statement for me personally, not about anyone else.
Have a great week.
~Huggy Wuggies, to all~

I do like how people take some things wrong on here sometimes. Nothing can be done about it, except to chill and move on.
My boss, master, or "so-called" boyfriend (now ex), locked me out of our house after I tried to visit my 'female cousin', .... I was 'bare-foot' in the snow.
He 'wound-up' destroying my life, nerves, mind, possessions and my pets. He found joy and fun, saying to me that I was "lucky he did not kill me" ----
Am now finally away from him, moved far away, but it always stays in the mind, to a great degree.
Take care everyone. Am going to try to take a break from this site and this thread, for a while, so you all can talk without my interruptions :]

Still wide awake here, but going to log off and maybe read in bed for a little while. I always find time to read even though I have much work to do. Did some laundry today and hope to finish up tomorrow. Going to get my hair cut and a perm on Thursday, that will make me feel better.
Morning everyone!
Pegi, getting y our hair done always makes you feel better.
Christina I hope your not gone for too long? We will miss you and your beautiful pictures! Sorry to hear you went through such a hard time with your EX.
Love forests, don't leave on our account, we will miss you.
Marion, hold on, and I'll eat wolly worms with you.
Jaye, you are always wellcome here. I would make you seafood gumbo and tater salad, or squill jambalaya with white beans.
Mmmm, white beans sound so good. They are my favorites.
Morning, LK. What's on the agenda for today? I have a dr. Appt., and housework, and laundry I want to get done, so tomorrow I can make salsa.
How's the diet going, Sissy? Are you Twiggy thin yet?
What time will the beans be ready?
