Same thing "M" & LK. I've said it's one in and one out.

Betty, Kim teaches in Georgia because the pay scale is so much better than Florida. Beside, from where we live, she can drive to Bainbridge in the same time it would take to drive to a school in Tallahassee. She starts work Monday, July 28th and the students return on August 1.
Sue, she goes through this every year. Way to many students signing up and only 2 teachers. Both of them teach what is called an extended day...no planning period. She, however, teaches the higher levels thus causing several sections to all be in the same room.
Wow, Marion that is a 2 hour trip one way! Does Kim drive that every day to school?
Katie, please drive carefully for your trip, and we will keep you in our prayers for a good report.
Wow, the school my greats are now going to in TN has 19 per class. They loved it from the git-go.
How do you get 2 hrs. each wat LK? It only takes her 40 minutes at most to drive one way.
Karen, she would love to have only 19 per class......more like 32+.
wow - so busy, ladies!!
Betty - have you left for your trip yet? "delete, delete, delete" lol good for you - you need to take your life back!! Oh, and be careful - what's this I see about worry about a possible heart attack?!?! Take care of yourself
Katie - I pray that you're ok. No surgery...
I used to have a budgie bird when I was about 7....... someone forgot to put him in his cage, and when we were leaving the house, I was the one "between doors" and Pixie flew out!! Major thunderstorm that night, and we never did find him...... oh, and it's a "Cuttle Bone" that you put in their cage for them to nibble on.
Marion - seriously?!?! 2 hours each way - sure must be a really great wage for her to travel 4 hours per day for work......
Going to bed early tonight - didn't get to sleep until 4am today........ MAJOR headache. When I'd taken enough meds to get rid of it (1 migraine strength & 2 codeine), and 5 hours had passed, before it finally went away, the meds messed up my tummy.... could NOT sleep then, so didn't go to work - would not drive the highway when I was so "fried", so I gave myself the day off :-)
It was great - no stress.
btw - don't know if I told you - I'm taking a refresher course in Bookkeeping - 20 hour certificate course. Company pays 1/2 upon successful completion. Only costs $375, so I'll get $187.50 back, in short order.
oh, ok - only 40 min each way - SO much better lol
Sorry Marion, I went to Google maps, and put in the wrong places!
Morning all ^_^
Marion, I wish Kim well, she most certainly must be an organized sort of person.
My friend who live in a little town in NY teaches (taught) in PA for the same reason .. better pay, but, her math classes were chuck full, and, so many regulations, AND a metal detector to go through each day .. finally got the better of her after 30+yrs and she retired at 55.
Katie safe travels, and, best of luck ... fingers crossed for you. Also hope Maria makes out well.
Susan, sounds as though your 'good busy' .. hate to hear about the headache thing .. am hearing more and more about folks who are unfortunate enough to be affected by the changes in barometric pressure, and have severe headaches as the weather changes ..
Betty .. ONE MORE SLEEP !!! How is the situation with your Mom ..?
Cool, clear Northern morning here .. 48F headed for maybe 80F .. planning a quick trip to the city .. have still got the coupns I had yesterday and they expire tomorrow !
Have a splendiferous day wherever you are ^_^
TOODLES
~M~
Good morning everyone.
Been busy here knitting mittens and finishing up the sewing room. Got two more blocks caught up on the BOMs. Only three left and I'll be all caught up.
Went to one of Sean's ball games Tues nite. He did well even though they lost. Playoffs begin this weekend and then he is done for the year. He will have three weeks until school starts again.
Brandon leaves in two weeks for Ohio. I'm going to miss him but I know he will be okay and do very well. Thanksgiving isn't that far away!!!!!
Sending prayers Katie.
Bookkeeping course sounds great Susan. It always pays to keep up with it.
Glad your services were nice "M".
Wishing you and your friends safe travels Betty and stay OFF the tables!!!!
Getting a haircut today so I'm off to the shower. Hope today is a great one.
Morning all,
Cool fall morning here, nice though
Walked the gardens and am amazed at the overgrowth, hate the thought of pulling many of the plants out when they are spent but guess I must do,lots of color though.
Katie, hoping when you return from California you will be shaking your head it was a wasted trip..that for sure would be the best news possible. Furries will be missing you, thankfully tony is a good house keeper..best of luck to Maria, hope she finds relatives.
Very interesting Marion about the going ons in different states re teaching requirements and pay scale. Likely the same in our different provinces.
Yes "M" 1 more sleep, planning for so long, just want to turn key on and go.
Barb what fun would it be not to enjoy it all even if I have to do a jig on the table.lol Greg says he doesn't want to hear of any of my antics, Lordy kids think we should be ever so prim and proper..
Barb can understand yur missing Brandon I will be doing same for braedon.
Oops Suzanne is here, off to the ank and a few other stops
Good early morning, everyone,
We had another blackout last night. Several hours with no lights, fans a/c etc. I saoked in my outdoor tub for an hour or two and got cooled enough to sleep for a few hours. Electricity came back on so I was cool for a couple of hours.
Trip won't be wwasted in any case. I'll get more pain meds. At best, get reassured with xray. Also, I ordered a good battery powered fan and I can pick it up. I had one but it disappearred after my accident. Power outages are a reular occurance during our difficult summers. I have a good solar light I can read by; with a good battery powered fan I'll be in much better shape to get through the outages.
I will also make a report to Kaiser administration that their pharmacy is having some problems. Last time I was waiting for med it was like being at a rock concert only without the music!! Very stressful and I'm not sick. Can't imangine it for someone who's not feeling well to begin with,
I have just enough pain killers to get through until Monday if I don't have a crisis.
There is some other shopping I can do while I'm there and it's always nice to have a few days break from our summer.
I've worked out a plan for the insulation. I think tony and I can get it started before I leave. Even a couple of weeks without the a/c is almost enough to pay for the gas for the trip. I'm really hoping my insulation plan will help. One of those things where I'm bringing a lot of different ideas together and hoping to bring the electric bill down. Even with the insulation we put in the ceiling last year it was almost $1,000 for the worst month. It balances out my $50 a month heating bills in the winter.
Going over my Amazon wish list to see what else I might order to pick up while I'm in Ca.
I'm not really stressed about the xray but I do want to get it taken care of. I was able to make an appointment for Tuesday morning.
Thanks for all the prayers. They help. Knowing I'm not alone in this.
Love that the twins are one year old. What a journey this has been for them and their family - including all of us.
hugs, katie
Morning everyone! Glad to hear your taking classes for work! Sure hope your headaches are gone!
Katie, that is one heck of a utility bill! You must have a large place to cool down. Our worst month has been about $350.00. And our place is about 1100 square feet. It is also a cinder block house, which I hate. No way to get inside to add insulation!
Home again .. lunch chowed down, laundry on the go and tic medicine put on the dogs.
Just waiting to hang out load one, then a small load of darks .. warm enough and a breeze they should dry ..
Katie, thats some electric bill .. heavy duty bux up this way if you heat your home in the colder months with electricity .. the majority of people use natural gas or oil .. we use wood and gas, 80% wood which is about $600. to get, sometimes more .. then the gas bill is about $50-60. and that's mostly for the water heater and my stove .. the furnace doesn't come on often .. so .. whereas your summers are costly, our winters can be brutally expensive !!
I do so hope your trip north is a good trip ..
Betty .. wishing you god's graces and safe travels for your trip with the gurls .. and remember .. what happens on VACAY stays secreted with those on the VACAY ^_^
Load one, off I go
Hugs
~M~
Not with the gals I travel with "M"
Gives them great pleasure to tell tales but of course I do the same.
Katie, safe travels
Omg how can people pay that much for hydro
I pay $110 for electricity /12 monthly and have a $300 credit
Gas I pay $100 monthly and most times owe. Few hundred at the end of the year
Then $175 month for water and sewer
Susan, are you off today, headache gone..bet you enjoy the upgrading..love book keeping.
LindaKay cinder??? Does tht mean brick house?
Sharon just emailed me..she is looking at property about 5 miles from my house, country home, riding stable and 50 acres of crop fields..I'm Shang my head, she said she was downsizing. Lol
Got everything done, just need Kyle to drop in after he finishes work
I'll take a run to get milk, bread, and my mail mail then relax for the evening
Oops maybe not relax seeing I did 3/4 of a tote bag this morning so could do finishing touches tonight to pass my evening..I'm bored
Cinder locks are concrete blocks. Then coverd with stucco. When Todd bought this house it was just a small house a friend of his built. And built very cheaply. Well, Todd thought he was going to be a bachelor forever, that was until he met me. Since then we have added on and have more room, but I still hate the concrete blocks, as you can insulate them. Summers are got, and winters are cold!
I know what you mean Linda Kay, re the cinder blocks. My house is cinder block, too. In the winter the outside walls are ice cold, and in the summer, once it gets hot, it just holds the heat!
deb
My basement is made of blocks, sure don't need a/c down there, always coool
I sure could tell some Betty tales!!! O:) Of course I was right with her...so I will keep quiet.
Safe travels ladies....Hope you have a wonderful time.
Sending prayers for a safe, happy, fun vacation for all of you. We will be sitting here, twiddling our thumbs and wondering where you are and what you are doing. LOL
Debbie, omg girl, you are just as bad as I am..what one doesn't think of the other does..just ask Kenny!!! lol
Thank you for well wishes, likely not leave till mid morning tomorrow, who knows maybe Paul will let Suzanne off earlier than that.
I have my ipad so you won't get rid of me that easily
God speed, Ladies!!
Ditto to what Joyce posted ^_^
~M~
After days of being bs'd Kaiser pharmacy finally admiitted to my doctor's nurse assistant that they had lost my prescription for pain pills. I will be able to ppick them up Monday when I get to Chula Vista. Now if myy stomach will only stop aching from the stress.
WE're getting some wind and thunder. Pray for rain. We need it. For water and for coolness.
My house is also concrete block with a tin roof. The electric bill is for a/c in one bedroom. If my inventions work I'll let you all know.
Must do some deep breathing.
hugs, katie
Glad you got all straightened outwithKaiser Katie!
Praying for the rain that is in each city we visit it seems moves along to your neck of the woods..Lordy how will you drive and be ok driving in the amount of pain you are in
Sure hooe you can post from time to tme so we know you are o.k.
Sending prayers and hugs
Oh Katie, big hugs....and please travel safely. Sure hope you get the rain, and some good answers during the follow up tests.
I have been doing some deep breathing myself.
Hugs,
Debbie
Have a blast Betty! Safe travels to you all.
Katie safe travels to you as well.
Rita and Kyle have both been,
Everything at the door so guess I'm ready as I'm going to be
Just climbed into bed, nothing more cozy than getting into a bed just made, sheets still wrm from the dryer.
Spoke with mom, if things continue as they have mom gets out of the hospital next Friday ..she will go to Sharon's I guess.
Debbie sending hugs
Night night
Watch if I can't fall asleep
Betty, how is your Mom's blood pressure! Please drive safely, and I will see you Wed.
I am so excited Linda that you and Betty get to hook up. Secure the tables, she likes to dance on them. O:) Have great time and safe trip.
Took a ride to the lake again tonight but missed the sunset. Hate that it is setting earlier and earlier.....but tonight was cloud coverage problem hanging over the lake.
Just a halo of sun and it was gone.
ALso had my first hummer out back tonight and was able to get a picture.
Rose of Sharon are blooming too, right now, I am counting the little blessings....or I can't breath.
You her that Betty? No table dancing allowed! :) But maybe I can talk Betty and the girls into getting a tattoo???
Love that hummer shot Debbie! Your photo's are so pretty!
Breathe deep!

Enjoy my hummers so much. I get all my hanging pots with red flowers just so they come to my feeders.
If she gets a tattoo....take pictures!!!
Safe journey Betty and Katie.
LK, I would get a tattoo with you :)
Here I am wide awake, drats
Debbie, I'm sure I showed you the tatoo I have at my naval, that if a mouse???
Think think it might come to you!
Love the photo's...how fr is this beach from your place? Omg I saw my first hummer tonight as well...my rose of Sharon only has leaves, you were right in telling me not to pull it out that it might not totally be dead
Dianne, are your gardens on target or are you also seeing fall in them.
We've had Hummies since mid May .. but, they come sporadically ..
DH watched a program on Discovery channel that said all these BIG storms are taking a toll on them .. I started to think about it .. and, it's likely the reason ..
Safe travels to everyone ... in our thoughts ..
Debbie, breathing along with you .. my deep beaths involve Lorna and her right knee, her ONLY knee .. it's really bothering her, she sees the orthopedic 'team' in August .. hoping a cortisone shot will do the trick for her, we can hope ..
I am on my own today, must be Friday ^_^
Off to make a cuppa
Toodles
~M~
Oh Betty, how I remember your mouse tattoo.....don't think I will ever forget that!!! ROFLMBO
~M~, I will say prayers for Lorna and her knee and all going on.
I was up at 6:00, took Kyle to work.....and enjoyed a bit of the sunrise.
Have major cleaning to do today....and hope it occupies my brain.
The boys will be here tonight, is a bon-fire down the road at friends so they will lift my
spirits with their talk for sure.
Have a feeling there will be a nap in there too! lol
Safe travels ladies....
you are all up early..
Hmmm didn't think about the weather and the hummers, I'd think it would have a big impact on them..can't you slow Lorna down?
Wondered if you remembered my mouse tattoo at my naval Debbie lol
The things with doing work in the house is the mess then having to clean every corner..is Paul a cautious painter? think most of the work was being done on the outside right?? Did he get the entire house painting with trim?
Glad the boys will be there tonight..time for them to care for you.
Car is filled with gas, Rita is off with Linda for breakfast, bit of shopping for last minute items and Suzanne and I are in Barrie office waiting to hear from Paul..likely not till lunch but one can only hope.
Doing good with our space and tote bags, lordy I even got so organized that I took are out of space bag then put it into a space bag and took air out..easier than trying to find a place to put the extra space bag incase one punctured.
Well now, you need to share your tattoo with the rest of us!!!
Morning everyone!
Betty, are there 3 ladies traveling with you?
