Chantell, Could I get another PB Tree, looks like this winter may have killed ours.
Spring Plant Swap 2014 in Lucketts, VA - Part 2
Me too -- same problem!
Holly---
Thanks for offering me some B&B Salvia starts. If you have extras--
I would take a couple.
I would prefer a full-sized plant--as these were a part of my "plan" for the bed.
Along with Cone Flowers--and Cardinal Flower, and Tiger Lilies--I was hoping
to, kind of, make this small bed my Hummer central...
I will also keep looking if HD has them among their perennials.
I know they had these a couple years ago....
G.
Gita, It isn't me with the B&B Salvia.
Gita: It was I who offered you the B&B. I don't have a full size plant even for myself -- I decimated mine to make cuttings, and I don't have many -- it remains to be seen whether they will root. But it does grows very fast....

OH, OK! Sorry....
I picked up 3 Heliotropes today at a pricey nursery. Could not find them
anywhere else.
Beautiful, full, 6"pots for $6.99. Love their fragrance and the blue is so intense.
Does anyone know if cuttings from these can be rooted for the following year??
G.
My fish pepper seedlings have done surprisingly well. I have 3 extra if anyone's interested.
They're supposed to have variegated leaves, but I'm not seeing any right now. No idea if the variegation will appear later.
SSG I'd like a fishpeper please. Where did you get your seeds? Some are much more variegated than others. Do you still have the Butterfly bush I forgot to pick up?
Coleup, yes, the butterfly bush is still here!
The fishpepper seeds are from Jill. They were 2-3 years old but had surprisingly good germination.
I have two suckers of Chantells PB Shrub potted since last fall and ready to go. My mama shrub was really late leafing out but it has begun, so Holly, maybe its about to pop.
Catbird, you know we always ride together! But Gita may make you ride with a lapfull of hosta or something....
I am hoping that it will. It is pretty good size and nicely shaped. If it isn't budding out by the swap.
Ssg you can put me on the bottom of the list for a fish pepper. Heirloom right? I'd be pleased with seeds end of the year instead.
An ordinary offering: I am going to stick cuttings on my Lynwood Forsythia, so if anyway wants one (or some), please let me know.
Sally---
Just reminding you that Tammy is also riding with us--my friend from HD.
She is not bringing anything---just herself....I will bring extra stuff to fill in.
NO Hostas this year--just the 4 small Green Fountain ones--if anyone asks.
Have to really get ready to do my "haves"---but planting up some of the
stuff I have bought is priority right now.
Like all this--plus my own stuff...One of my seedling Zinnias already has a bud on it--
and I have yet to plant any of the,---AARRGGHHHH!!!!
G.
Gita, Can you root me some of your solid green Swedish Ivy? I could use 6 pieces.
Holly--I read your request before--just never got around to replying...
SURE! I can root it it for you. Would you like cuttings in a pot?
I always do 3 cuttings per bunch. makes a nice, fill plant.
I could do a 8" pot-full of cuttings....or i could root you a couple cuttings in 4" pots x five.
I have 2 BIG HB's of it--but they are old and root-bound. There is plenty of new growth--
and I plan to take enough cuttings off of one of them to start a new HB for this year.
The old ones WILL re-grow--but I don't want to deal with them another season.
Maybe I can pass one of the HB's off to you --and then you can
take all the cuttings you want.
That is 3 choices...Which one?????
Here's the 2 HB's. I know they look good--but the roots are a solid mass....
The one on the right, I think, is the oldest....this can be yours....
LMK---G.
Gita, I am going to plant them in those tall blue tiled cylinders with a red star Cordyline just like last year. I did save some from last year but they must have been one of the GH casualties because I can't find them anywhere.
Aspen, I would love some Phlox stolonifera 'Bruce's White' if you still have some.
Sally, yes, some Onoclea sensibilis, please!!
Holly---
Not clear what you want then????Rooted cuttings or the whole HB--
and you can root your own cuttings.
????? Gita
Just the rooted cuttings thanks.
Happy, may I have some of your Jewel Weed seedlings please? I'm trying to grow some in the forest and have no idea whether the seeds I sowed last year will come up.
Muddy, got you down for the phlox stolonifera 'Bruces's White'
Chantal, I think I had asked about your passiflora/maypop at one point! How have you found it with regard to aggressiveness? Does it twine on other plants? It might work well on my neighbor's fence where there is not a proper bed and no plants on my side except for lawn weeds. :-)

Do the pollinators seem to like it?
I planted a *lot* of seeds a few weeks back and I now have seedlings for several plants:
Alfalfa Medicago sativa
Golden Marguerite Anthemis tinctoria
Coneflower (Purple) Echinacea purpurea
Oregano Origanum vulgare
Viola cornuta (tricolor)
Alyssum 'Allure Pastel Blend' Lobularia maritima
Alyssum 'Rosie O'Day' Lobularia maritima
Borage Borago officinalis
Cosmos bipinnatus 'Wild Mixture'
Cosmos sulphureus 'Bright Lights Blend'
Marigold (French) 'Favourite Blend' Tagetes patula var. nana
Marigold (pot) 'Pacific Beauty Blend' Calendula officinalis
Zinnia elegans (Red)
I overseeded so will need to do some thinning, and am happy to bring some to the swap if anyone is interested. Most of them are plants that are recommended for attracting beneficial insects to the garden.
I also have one very healthy Monarda didyma 'Coral Reef' plant.
Muddy: Of course (re jewelweed) - I have tons of it. It seeds around promiscuously, so be forewarned.
I have half-updated my "haves" list -- mostly same-old-same-old from prior swaps. I'll check what else has done well and update it again.
Happy, thanks! I'm going to plant the seedlings in a forest and hope they will be very promiscuous.
Thanks, Catmint! What a cutie!
Catmint - regarding the Maypop - it spreads but in my opinion is easily controlled. It's an easy one to yank up if you get too many. I love it...as does the bumbles and honey bees I believe!! http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/164484/
I like mine, too. I do find it coming up pretty far from where I planted it. But I also find it easy to control.
Great photo, Chantell! I'd love some maypop--thanks! :-)
ISO Asclepias syriaca should anyone have some to share or could point me in the direction to buy it...please let me know. Thank you
Ahhh thanks Catmint! The bumbles love it so they sit pretty for photos :-) I've put you down for some...fingers crossed they start popping up as they should this time of year.

I'm almost embarassed to ask for another Maypop... but my young one doesn't seem to have made it through the winter. Maybe it's one of those plants that, once you have it you really have it, but getting it established might take some doing?
I tried Maypop once also and was not successful. I would like to try again, if there's enough for me also, Chantell. I'm sorry to say that after all these years, the beautiful huge Yucca that you gave me bloomed for the first time last summer and then was killed by the winter this year. I have some pups that I'm hoping will survive and replicate the splendor that we witnessed last year.
Jill, may I have a jasmine? Will it do okay in full sun climbing a tree trunk?
Muddy, I would love to add some of your Utah sedum to my collection, please.
Gardadore, a few of the Centuaura Montana Blue, I tried this years ago and it didn't make it but now am in a different place and would like to give it another go. Such an unusual flower.
I'll put your name on one of the Jasmines, Catbird. I think it would be fine climbing a tree trunk, although you might have to give it a little help; it doesn't seem real "tendril-y"
Muddy, yes on Onoclea
CHantell, maybe on Asclepias syriaca- there is a lot here but have to dig roots and see i they survive in pot.
