Into the mid 70s great day for weeding (me) & mowing (DH).
Weather in the Garden #137
Yesterday was such a gorgeous day....sunny & 73 here........right now it's cloudy & dreary but warm.....should get to 75.....I love it!
62° hazy sun great day for the garden yesterday
Is anybody getting rain? We sure aren't. Otherwise a nice crisp fall day outside with shirtsleepve temps.
It's raining in NYC now- hard.
Overnight a bit of rain and more expected today, but not expected to be like the Midwestern storm.
64° no rain as yet
rained hard here most of the day
Sales rep that visits our office every Thursday came in today and was saying she heard SNOW for next week. She was serious but I don't know Where she heard that....I told her she doesn't care as she's off to Italy and won't be here anyway!
It DID really pour hard at times here..hope it helps make up for our drought conditions.I'm sure all the plants/trees appreciated it. Sad to see the blooms all winding down....
Off & on heavy rain here as well.
Our town picked up 2" of rain yesterday.....really needed it....today will be sunny & close to 70......great weather for this time of year!
It's 71 degrees today ,I extended one of my garden beds and enjoyed the day outside.
I & a quarter inch of rain yesterday. 73° Certainly warm for Oct & we will see that temp next May with luck.
rain showers over the last few days. 68 and cloudy
NICE weekend in the 70s....Sunday back to highs of 50. Gotta enjoy it while we can! Good weekend for planting; trying to get all my daylilies and bulbs in for the fall and then I'm done. Today planted my first Clematis..wish me luck! :o) Have a great weekend, everyone!
Thanks, Val......sounds like a bad week for weather, nor'easter coming mid-week.....
Great...love freebies!
Frost warning was canceled for tonight because of slight wind. We will see what happens. 43°
We had freeze warnings, but it appears there was no frost....the plants still look fine! Cool today, around 50, but sunny.....
No frost last night. 41° & bright sun. It is not supposed to be much above 50 today.
31.1 last night, annuals mostly toast, especially on the lower lawns.
Sorry, Pam......the weather on TV last night said the temp went to 30 at Black Rock School, but that's on the other side of town, & lower in elevation....nothing seems touched here except the coleus....today, cloudy with spotty showers....
Cytf, Are you growing your brugs inside over the winter? A gardening friend sent me a cutting which is my "winter project".... one of them.
Finished my fall planting including bulbs on Sunday :-)
I thought it was supposed to rain all day today.....Sun came out and blue skies!
It was a great day here as well, sunny & 63....today not so great....cloudy with on & off showers.....I planted 3 large, maroon spider alliums yesterday......
50° overcast off & on rain
Probably picked up an inch of rain & it's not over yet!
Hi valal, I thought it was brugmansia my friend gave me but it is Datura because she has it growing as a perennial so that why I know it it Datura. I researched it on line and I saw the difference about both plants, I do not think I want brugmansia because you have to bring it indoors in winter. They have the same type of flower but Datura flower upward where as the other flower downwards.
So happy I did all my fall gardening because the rain showers are rally give them a soaking , It will be in the low 50 today.
I am not sure how much rain we had as it is sill raining. The power went out from about 10 min to 11 to 7:30 this morning. I am glad that it was not colder, chilly enough when I moved to different spots of the bed, although the quilt I use did a pretty good job. 50° at the moment.
Isn't Datura an annual?
It is for me.
Research states that Datura is a herbecous perennial or an annual but it reseeds and the plants springs up the next year.
Cloudy & showery again this morning....getting depressing....need to see the sun!
No more rain this morning. some rain overnight. 51° gloomy is depressing.
Sun is shining today....what a nice difference....should be 60 this afternoon....
45° bright sun the wind has died down.
Went camping last night with one of the grandies. The rest of his family came over for a few hours this morning. FUN!! Got up to 68 this aftrnoon. This state park has lots or trails that are paved, cuz they are old roads that have been blocked off. Great for kiddos to ride their bikes in relative safety.
Sounds great!
Beautiful day here, just wandered around taking pics and dreaming about future projects. Like I needed more ;-/
It's fun to dream though!!!
