2014 N Central TX RU May 18th (Arlington) TRADE THREAD #1

TRADE THREAD Links for our Spring RU to be held at Randol Mill Park in Arlington on May 18th at 12pm (noon). Cost to members is $5.00 to cover the rental of the pavilion. Guests are free. Just be sure to bring a food item and a door prize for them also.

Please use this post for PRE-TRADING. Not ready to put a list on paper? That's ok, just save yourself a spot. Use this thread to ask for items others have for trade. If you are new...don't worry! We will take potting soil, manure, pots, plant markers, compost, or coffee grounds. At the end of the swap we will give away what we don't want to take home!! You won't go home empty handed.

Becky, can I have some iris and a red TX star hibiscus or 2? I killed my last one and want to try again.

Most of the things on my list are drought tolerant and native perennials, so check it out.

Stephanie, can I claim a Red Mountain Sage?

Stephanie, I would also like a mountain sage if you have enough. And, SPWD, could I get a couple Pitcher Sage. I got one last year but it did not return this year.

Okay Stephanie, I will bring you 2 of the hibiscus and some iris, could you spare one or two of your Kiowa blackberry please?

Steadycam, I'll bring you a few pitcher sage, I actually have quite a few of them. Is your firespike the shrub with red tubular flowers? If so I'd love to ask for one of your cuttings :)

The firespike is Odontenema strictum, yes the pannicles of littel red tubulers. Humming birds like them and they bloom in the fall just as they come thru on their migration.

Yes that's the one, hummer magnets are a major plus.. I had 5 on the feeder at one time yesterday!!

Thanks SPWD. for the Pitcher sage and I will bring you the firespike.

Also Thank you to Dennis and Josephine for the Golden Groundsel. I would like a bit for myself and another DGer named juher7 who wants some for his red admirals. That is if there is enough to go around.

Question: Need to know! Did anyone get 4 o'clock seeds from me at last RU or had I confiscated, I mean gathered them yet? (I remember asking people what the seeds looked like, but that's all I remember.) If anyone got them, were they viable?

SWPD - if you have an extra 1 or 2 irises, I'd love 'em. Also, what color yarrow do you have?

Stephanie - would love some germander (spellcheck just changed that to 'gerrymander' don't you love it!) Also some John Fannick Phlox, please.

tx_flower_child, okay I'll bring you some iris too. I can definitely do more than 2 if you want more than that.. I have a 5 gallon bucket full of rhizomes to part with, just lmk! And the yarrow is just the common white variety.

tx_flower_child, will do on the iris! I have more plants to trade than I thought, and I picked up close to a third of my buddy's plastic pots. Most are 2 gallon size. No flats though, bummer..
