Thanks for the offer to swap with me! All I have right now are veggie seeds but I'm trying hard to branch out my farmer roots and grow something just because... Having a hard time wrapping my head around the milkweed thing though. I was raised to believe it was a toxic nuisance, especially to the horses. I've never known anyone to grow them on purpose! I'm not unsympathetic to the plight of the Monarch, I just have very strong instincts to pull milkweeds! lol...I'll have to work on that one.
CLOSED: 2014 Spring Round Robin Seed Swap - On the Wing (page 2)
Hi Tracy:
Yes, growing MW is a commitment and an excellent cause. There are so many varieties you might find one you absolutely love that will make you forget any negative properties you may associate with the genus.
I'm disappointed because of all 7 of the caterpillars I found this past week only one survives, and that one is failing to thrive. :/

Amanda populated areas , or gardens , as your region zone , more Bacillus or fertilizers and insect sprays are used , it is a consideration in that
When they spray here , there is a time when they don't or won't show either , cats are a an easy target ,,
Besides us , fungus , virus , the cats get them all .
Troublesome. Of course we don't use anything in the yard here.
Working with the Nature Conservancy would be AWESOME, Amanda! It's one of my favorite organizations. Keeping fingers crossed for you.

I also have a good crop of Sunflower seeds this year. This one is very tall 10'-12', and has multiple branches with plenty of 4-5" blooms. They make nice lasting cut flowers for vases, etc.
Seems like I always have a "ton" of leftover marigold and zinnia seeds collected over the last couple of years. I don't really need to swap or trade them ( I have plenty already), just find a place to send them for good use. Many are in well tagged packages. If someone would like to add them to the next(?) robin or swap, that would be just fine.

Al - maybe you could send them to Robin for the newbie stash?
All - THE ROBIN HAS LANDED. Yay team.
I'm going to take a breather for a day or two, then post the thread for the Fall swap. I'll post a link here when I get the thread up.
Thanks for playing everybody. And thanks for your patience and good humor.
