Coffee Break #100!

Thomaston, CT

Our P & Z board is appointed by the selectmen & the party.....

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

I talked to a friend from the area of bill's pipeline project. Results are in and the two towns involved voted it down in their referendum votes. Apparently other towns in critical areas are doing the same thing, so if the people can speak maybe it will be loud enough to discourage these pipelines.

Thomaston, CT

At least you get to vote up there....here, it's the board's decision!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

the vote here was 423 - 0 no pipeline

South Hamilton, MA

Hooray!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thomaston, CT

Yay! Hope I get good news on the 22nd.....

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

it does not mean the pipeline is stopped only that we do not want it. good start though

South Hamilton, MA

drat!

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

From what I heard, people in other states are doing the same thing--voting it down. The path elsewhere is pretty much blocked.

Thomaston, CT

Good news here! The gun range application was withdrawn....article in today's paper! Yippee.....

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Good news, indeed, RD!!!

Breaking news here in the Jackson family in Oregon!!! Tomorrow is the finalization of Markus's adoption. BIG day for sure!!!!!. Glad we are here for it. We weren't here fifteen years ago for Nick's finalization.

South Hamilton, MA

Great news Jen.

I'm also pleased that the gun range was withdrawn. Maybe he can't buy the property after all.

Thomaston, CT

He was just leasing the property, but the owner of the land has no community appreciation....Jan, that's wonderful news! Enjoy the ceremony.....

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

Now if we can only get the runway through the wetlands not to happen. Signs are that it will and that too many people want the revenues. It's not about property value because it will just mean a different bunch of people want to live here.

Thomaston, CT

Amazing how things pass even if wetlands are involved!

South Hamilton, MA

wetlands are so important--hope it does not expand

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

I caught a groundhog last night - think there is more than one as this one is not the huge one we've seen running around.

granny smith apple was the key.

South Hamilton, MA

Young enough not to beware of traps.

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Well done young man. Keep up the good work.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

trap is re-set and waiting for the big one!

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

El morte?

Thomaston, CT

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

That one IS good sized.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Thank you. We kind of think we'll keep them!! Hehe

Way to go, wha!!! I remember I was sent to dispatch one when I was in sixth grade. It and our dog were at each other all day. Dog was bloody, but wouldn't give up. I will have those images in my head forever.

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

Ever notice how fat and healthy these groundhogs look? The fresh veggies in our gardens must be really good for them. The little kids that used to visit were very attached to them in our yard so we'd have to make up fanciful stories to explain when they were gone.

Thomaston, CT

That's a beautiful photo, Jan.....glad you could be there with the family! I hope the chucks have a new home, Bill, somewhere far away.......Going to a ceremony at Town Hall today. The governor is presenting a check to the town for a running track, tennis courts, & soccer field.....my son designed the facility, so he's invited......I'm so proud of him......

South Hamilton, MA

Good for him to design it.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Awesome, RD!!!!

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

Way to go! I'd be bursting with pride.

Thomaston, CT

Thanks....it was a great time, met with some old friends, took my son out to lunch after.....he designed another project, a streetscape, for the town next to us...the gov stopped there first with another check, to continue the project. It's wonderful seeing Garret's projects come to fruition, I wish his Dad could be here to see them......

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

I'm sure he was delighted that you were able to be there.

Thomaston, CT

I hope so!

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

Just a short note to ask for a prayer or good thoughts on Wednesay morning. I will have a four plus hour facial surgery to repair several nerve sections to eyelid area, mouth and neck on the left side. It is a repair due to Bells Palsy 21 years ago. I feel so lucky that they have the techniques to improve the problem, but the recovery period before returning to work will be two and a half weeks. Then in another 8 months they will start PT.

South Hamilton, MA

Best for good results.

Thomaston, CT

Rosemary, your name will be on my prayer list.....good luck with the surgery!

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

Thanks so much. Have to go to bed early-- leaving at 5am to prep as first patient of the day. Then overnight in the "penthouse," for monitoring. I am hoping for a good view of the Charles River.

Thomaston, CT

Best of all, Rosemary....let us know how you're doing!
