Hi,

Has anybody planted dahlia tubers yet, or do you wat until Mother's Day?

certainly would wait unless plants have started to grow

I have planted early before, but the tubers languish until the soil is very warm.....I wait now until the end of May.....if there's a variety that's very late, starting it in a pot & then transplanting into garden also works, although sometimes plants get leggy. I have over 20 tubers to plant, & for the second year, have started dahlias from seed.....last year, they were tall, & had some nice colors.....
