Sweet Interruptions. Rm # 281

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

(((((((((Marion))))))))) This shouldn't have to be on your shoulders, but understand your situation. Please take care of your self.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Marion, you shouldn't apologize!!!!!!
Goodness, Betty knows I lurk on her thread and there's no competition between two sistahs!!
Just that Betty has a large following, and I can't remember what says what.. and hence tend to be quiet there.
So, if you chose not to post here, no worries at all. One posting is enough! Your time is much more precious now.. especially with Sue demanding yours.
Our thoughts will be with you, and her healing.
Kel sends his love too! Lemon free he says and he's praying for you too.

Dang time change.. ready for some heavy duty prayers tonight. I envy Sis Kathy.. she has the whole infantry tonight.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Luna had heart worms too but we caught it early and the monthly tablets helped her.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Oh Marion, cyber hugs coming your way, Dear!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

LK, Blackie looks soooo much better than when you adopted him! Good luck with him.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Karen, me and my children are all Sue really has. Yes, we do have an aunt but she doesn't understand what some of the issues are and keeps telling her to get over it. Doesn't work that way!!!

I can't take her to my house just yet as there are still issues with cat care. Well will make it, one day at a time.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

If I were to live closer, I'll help with the cats.
Some folks think that depression is something one can turn on and off.. as you said, doesn't work that way.
Take care Marion.. you're an honorable sister.

LK, proof right there that my memory cells are gone!!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Sure understand where you are coming from Marion. It's sad when there is an emotional breakdown because so often others just don't understand that it's not something that can be controlled at will. If you are able to take her home, maybe she could choose just one favorite cat and hopefully the others could be adopted to new homes. I know I don't know the whole situation there are always all these other little problems which have to be ironed out too. There are never easy solutions. More hugs to you and Sue too.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Marion, I'm sending my love and prayers to you and Sue and prayers that today is a better one than yesterday and that tomorrow will be even better than that. I'm so sorry about your BIL.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

Didn't go to church last nite, but called brother allen in the afternoon, to put in my prayer request. was in to much pain to go

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

So sorry to read that Kathy. Hope you can get some rest today.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

thanks barb

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hope your feeling better soon, but be careful with the pain pills, they can stop you up too!
Drink lots of water.

Off to do lab work, then to Uvalde to pick up Rory and Nicholas for the week end. I hate it when you have labs at 10:45 and you have to be fasting.
See you all this afternoon.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

i'm starving. nothing but liquids for a few days, then a bland diet and Metamucil. what is a bland diet?

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

NOTHING spicy!!!! Eggs, custards, etc. I lived on omelets when I had to be on one....

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

oatmeal? cereal? smashing taters?

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Oatmeal is kind of heavy but grits or Cream of Wheat would be bland. Just NO spices. Mashed potato would be good but once again, they are heavy on the tummy.
Google bland diet and see what it tells you.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Be safe on the roads! I know you'd find something creative for the boys to do.

Thunder should be making her way back home soon, if she isn't already.

Barb's right Sis... NO SPICES!!
I was put on a bland diet, not happy about it, but got used to it. No red pepper, no black pepper and that means lay off the Tony's Creole seasoning sis.

Will do more yard work later, as the winds are pretty strong, and the temps are cooler now. Got lots of limbs.. tumbling weeds to clear.
Not making any sowing plans.. except for getting a bag of potting soil and try to start some kind of veges. Any of my Sistahs apart from Pegi starting a vege garden? Cindy, if you're lurking, how about you since you have a bit more space?

Barb, living in an apartment is a blessing for sure. Your mind won't be occupied with plants!! And you can't believe the rising costs to feed a garden!!

Have a happy day sistahs.

BTW.... a couple of days ago, I dreamt of my late BIL (ex'Bil) telling me to return home (Louisiana). Yesterday I got a call from ex that his sister caught the 3rd stroke. I was prepared for that call.
This morning, he said that her brain had swelled up considerably and looks like her time is near.
Her mind was willing herself to die. Oldest son usurped her money, one daughter balked at the responsibility of having to be the caretaker. All that drama played on her mind.
I am certain she rather be with her husband and another son in heaven.
I didn't ask for prayers last night, as if it's God's will, it is the best for her.
This time, I'm asking that a word be left in God's ears to take her before it gets worse, as the doctors don't see any hope. She's 82.

Thanks sistahs.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

so sorry to hear that jaye.
how can I live without tony's?
praying the Lord takes her HOME

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

You can live without pain Kathy!!!!!

Sending prayers for your "family" Jaye. God will do His will at the right time. I sure do know what you are saying. Holding you close.....

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear that Jaye. Asking HIM to do as his will shall be done.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Thank you Sistahs.
Yes, she's still family to me. We've worked together until she retired. You could say we're quite close, as we'd call each other up often before the stroke. Her grandkids said she was looking forward to my return.. that broke my heart.
She's also Vergie's first MIL.
I had spent more years with ex' family than with my own biological family.
Our marriage wasn't meant to be, but God sure gave me some fantastic in laws.

The winds were rough that they forced me indoors!! Got a few dead hanging limbs cut off and that is when TALL is a convenience!!! Lol!! Short me, on tiptoes, is only inviting my head to spin and to lose balance once!!! That once is enough to let tall Kel do the rest!!

Plainwell, MI(Zone 5b)

Wow so much going on I have missed acouple days again. Marion you are doing a wonderful job.
LK hope the dog is healing those darn heart worms are awful for the doggies. How is your dad doing?
Hope all are doing better now. So hard to keep up with everything.
So good news my niece got married in Las Vegas on wednesday. Watched the video on line and it was so pretty. Really nice ceremony. My daughters are having the time of thier lives. Weather is wonderful high 70's . Am happy for them.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I was just reading back up and missed where you had to fast LK. Hope you made out okay with your labs and that you enjoyed a wonderful breakfast after!!!!!

Hope you are feeling better now Kathy.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Our congratulations and wishing of good luck to your niece's marriage Ronna! How did they meet. Childhood sweethearts or HS? Vegas is for honeymooners!

Barb, I know sis Kathy ain't happy if she had to give up on her spices!!

Latest post from Marion. Continue to give her and her sister our prayers. Sounds like the cats pill popper should be what I need for Kel!!

"Very good day here...so grateful! She still can't be without someone but atleast she isno longer arguing with me about tamingher meds. Told her I would sit on her and usethe cats pill popper. Works every time.
I don't remember who mentioned having friends drop in...part of problem, she lives far out of town and not many friends. Don't mean that go sound harsh but it is what it is. She has always been shy and didn't make friends easily. We are working with the therapist trying to change that. Babysteps but they will get bigger."

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

From the bottom of my heart, thank you my sistahs who asked Jesus to take Oline home soon.
She left this world five minutes ago.
I know there's a big Cajun fais do do up there in Heaven.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks for the updates on Marion and Sue.

Sorry to hear about Oline, but glad to know she is not suffering anymore.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Yes LK. She isn't suffering..
Got a call from Louella, ex youngest sister. She told me that Oline was so looking forward to my coming 'home' that she bought a new bed!!!
That tore me up..
Facebook begun to light up with messages from ex' great nieces and nephews. The grief hits hard. Knowing I'm considered family still is an honor.. but sad.. as they are so far.
My fate, doing the grieving by phone and online.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Oh.. ex and Louella thank all my sistahs too for the prayers.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sure wish distance was not problem for you Jaye!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Why must the world have oceans?? And I don't swim LK.

Vergie, my uncle Ali.. now Oline. Within weeks of each other's passing. My uncle will sure know how to do the Cajun two step by now.

Kel's been very comforting right now. Brewed a pot of ginger tea (thanks LK) and I plan to have a long night of thankful prayers.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

(((Hugs, Jaye)))

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Sending gentle hugs Jaye. God is good. Holding you close.....

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone! Coffee is ready!
Lots of thoughts and prayers going out to all those in need!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

I've got two feet of snow on the ground and five foot snowbanks..... I'd so love to see a crocus or a daffodil....

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Thank you sistahs. Again appreciate the many kind thoughts sent. Lord is good, Oline isn't suffering much.

Last night Kel's lap was such a comfort! Thank God he's not made puny for this heavy duty gal!

Got to share a little titbit with my sistahs.
Oline had 3 kids, two boys, youngest girl. Second son died of cancer.
She had plenty grandchildren that can step in to help her if needed. But only one grandson who's a bit slow did so willingly, helped by his wife, who has Downe Syndrom.
Of course Jude and Jackie never 'fit' with some family, but they're my favorites.
Last night I was told that Oline had made a living will before she got her first stroke that Jude and Jackie are made co heirs along with her daughter (Jude's mother). Even though Sharon balked at helping her mother, eventually she'd do as asked.
Oline had disowned her son who robbed her blind, and the other grandchildren who won't take their time just for a call. Of course they're now crying foul.. especially Randy (the dead son) ex wife saying his kids deserve a share. What's tragic, is she's not even buried yet and the fight over property starts. Randy's wife made a big error when she didn't invite Oline and the rest of the Blanchards and Leblancs to her second marriage. She has cut off all ties with Randy's family till now. We don't hear about the kids, only from FB :(

That's my 'family' gossip for now. Time to burn the funeral clothes!

It was 25 last night! Today it's a warm 70! Love your blooms sis. My plum blossoms bloomed on one side of the tree. The other was damaged by strong winds! Then I have Star Magnolias blooming too.
Somehow I sensed Barb's anguish and took these pictures this morning! Daffies for you Barb!
Lola thinking it's all about her!!
LK, the cat in the second pic is the latest kitty rescue "Garcon", he was puny weeks ago. A major growth spurt!

Thank you so much Jaye for those rays of sunshine!!! They look so pretty. I know we will see some up here someday if it warms up enough for them to push through the snow. There is just so much of it still piled everywhere. The fur babies are adorable....
