I am also Linda. Glad to know he is where he will get good care.
Sweet Interruptions. Rm # 281
Same here LK.
Your dad, Sis Kathy is right, our dad too. :)
I am glad with the medical opportunities that American seniors can get here. Hope he'd take to the therapy well, if not, you know that he's in capable hands.
People think a toe is no big deal, however it makes a big difference in how you walk...That's a big deal.
Oh yes the toes are very important indeed. I have all mine but have seen some yuckie things in the hospital I work at. Poor folks. Diabeties is the culprit most of the time.
Njce day so far here. But suppose to get another up to 7 inches of snow overnight. So much has melted bjt want it gone. I have to see my daffys!!!
Prayers continue foe Dad, LK. Also prayers continue for Sue and Marion, of course.
Clad you're back, Judy!
I helped my DD, Lisa at a book fair today. She's librarian for two elementary schools. Such cute kids. Guess I'll help her again on Thursday, too.
Anyway, when I got home from that, I played in the shade bed a while cleaning up. The hellebores are pushing new growth. It was 65! I'll take it!
IT GOTT TO 80 TODAY. HAVE AIR CONDITIONER ON
No more hellebores here Cookie!! They are so pretty!
What a change of pace, gardening then library. You interact well with kids.. (look at us).. you would make a great teacher.
Got to pay special attention to my feet, as I have chronic fungus. Yep. Worst yuck ever!! This is embarrassing. Caused by working on floor soaked chemicals for years.
Tried everything, even Vicks.. vaseline and lemon juice.. bleach.. only $80 Mentax tube can clear them, but I have to apply all the time.
So sistahs, you won't catch me wearing open toe sandals!
Ooops, 72 here. Should be outside but too darn lazy!
Maybe that would have been a good job for me. I surely enjoyed interacting with them today. Lisa is really good with them. All ages...she loves them all.
One woman came in (teacher) and said oh my, you must be Lisa's mom! You two look so much a like! Well, not sure how Lisa felt, but I was thrilled! Lisa is drop dead gorgeous! And NO, I wouldn't be the least bit partial! LOL!
The apple doesn't fall far from the tree!! YOU are drop dead gorgeous Cookie! Enhance by the tan!
ok, 2 things....... Jaye - that quote from Philippians is a banner I made for our Church prayer table.....
and.....
LK - I can't resist... it struck me when I read it - HOW are they going to keep an "eye" on the toe that's no longer there? kinda difficult, wouldn't you say?!?! LOL sorry, caught my "funny bone" with that LOL
Happy birthday Susan!!!
Bad tease there... have you heard of 'ghost' limbs?
That quote should be practised by us everyday.. but life doesn't give us cherries daily!!
LOL! Should have said keeping an eye on the wound where toe was removed.
Hope your dad heals fast and no infection, LK. Well, I made the decision to look for a new computer. Went to Best Buy, there was one in a fairly new area called Downey Landing, could be because it is in Downey. DUH Really nice store and got a lot of help. I really had in mind to get a Dell, but saw a nice slim HP on sale that had everything I needed. He did say it didn't have Excel or Power Point, but I don't think I need them. I'm taking in my PC and let them transfer all my information. I know I have about 442 errors in my registry and the young man at the store said they were virusus and I didn't want to transfer them along with everything else. It has Windows 8, don't know if I'm going to like that or not. So, DH said after he goes to see the doctor tomorrow we will take my PC in. That really surprised me, thought he might be a little mad about the whole thing. I'll be without a computer for a few days, just don't know how I'm going to get along without it. I may even have to do some serious house cleaning, which I really hate. My Java is so messed up on this PC that I can't play any of my games most of the time. Making a list of things I want to ask the Geek Squad tomorrow.
Good luck with the new computer Pegi.
LK - I know it was a bad tease, but I don't find much funny nowadays, and I hope you didn't take offence.....
No offense taken Susan!
Morning everyone! Coffee is ready! Pretty windy here this morning, but 55 degrees, supposed to be 66 this afternoon!
Well, I have to take Blackie to the vets this morning, evidently the monthly heart worm pills are not doing their job and he has heart worms pretty bad, so they have to give him a shot for $160.00. Problem is, we were told once he has the shot we have to keep him quiet for a month, so the meds don't get released too fast or it can give him a blood clot and kill him, but if we don't give him the shot, the heart worms will kill him, so we are upset, wondering what will be best for him. I will ask the vet for a sedative to keep him still. He is such and active dog, don't know how to keep him still for 30 days!
Oh Linda so sorry, sure hope Blackie makes a fast recovery. This is heart breaking.
linda, I hope blackie is fine. if the vet don't give you sedetives, I have some for dogs I will send you
~~~ We had Popeye's yesterday and I thought of you, Jaye. :)
Thanks everyone. I will keep you all posted.
just came from the doctor. my diverticulitis is flareing up. another round of antibiotics and a liquid diet. this has got to stop. 65 and raining. my peach tree is blossoming. it is so pretty
Pegi, you're such a funny lady!! Your house may wish for the pc not to be gone!! You'll clean with a vengeance for sure... taking out your frustrations on the broom and mop!
Good luck on the Dell! You'd find surfing much faster and your games shan't be interrupted.
LK, the poison is necessary to kill the worms. Your cost isn't too bad. MIL had to fork out 320 for her Chow. It could be that the heartworm med Blackie is taking isn't for his current weight. If he gained any since the last weigh in for his meds, that can make the following months' meds ineffective.
To keep him still also means to prevent him from coughing too much.
So sorry Sis your diverticulitis flares up. Don't eat what you ate to cause it to flare up, even gumbo!! All that spice.
Hope your colons settle down soon.
Enjoy your Popeye's Carole!! We haven't stepped into Bojangles for 7 years, as it was that bad!! Last week, Kel bought a 3 piece wondering if the flavors has improved. It did, but still not as good as Popeye's :(
Stepping outside for a while.. lovely 74. I'm pretty sure the mosquitoes will soon greet me.
Have a Happy Day sistahs.
Jaye, that is just the first dose, if he is not better in 30 days he gets a 2nd shot, another $160.00. Vet told me this morning I can give him benadryl to keep him calm. Blackie has only gained 2 pounds since last visit. They say he has had heart worms for awhile, and the longer they have them, the worse they get if not treated right away.
Kathy, my doc told me to take 2 senokote-s every day. I get the generic version and it works just as well. To keep things from getting blocked up. I have not had too much problem since last June when I spent the night in the ER.
We had a rescue who had heartworms, back in Louisiana. She needed only one shot at 120. Separated her from the rest, thank God, Harris has a huge workshop.
As for the Chow, that was the first visit LK. This was before I discovered cheaper vets. FIL was very upset, as that shot didn't work and they refused to continue treatment.
You can guess that Kel and I were very upset over their decision, as they could afford it.
We didn't find out about it till that Chow was euthanized. :(
I know you and Todd are much more compassionate folks.
Will say a prayer for your fur baby.
Came back in to look for gloves!! Stupid me, what makes me think that my hands can take pulling dry weeds!!
YES, SHE TOLD ME TO TAKE FIBER ADDITIVES EVERY DAY TOO. sorry bout the caps
very pretty
Yup you should had bought all of them, LK. It's so pretty...........looks like Apple Blossom to me.
Doncha just love it when a bargain really is.
Indeed Karen and we don't come across many!
I'm thinking Apple Blossom too. That is the only one I've ever grown....
Then I shall call it apple blossom!
Big grin here!
Got news from Kim on FB, I'm sure some of you had read what Marion wrote on Betty's thread.
Sue is very much latching on to Marion for her meds and won't let her out of her sight.
More upsetting news.. her late dad's BIL died from a massive stroke this afternoon.
I had assured her that prayers will continue.
Also told Kim that I do lurk on Betty's thread and it's okay if some get info from that.
LK, is Blackie also Luna.
Awww.. didn't Luna had the same problems too.. trying to search my memory here.
You and Todd truly have BIG hearts. What stopped you from rescuing more, should be a blessing... your small home and much less acreage than me! Those heartworms aren't cheap!!
These pups sure know who love them!
I am so sorry you Sistahs had to read on Betty's thread what is going on but I have to be careful when and where I post. THANK YOU (caps intended) for your prayers, thoughts and love..I feel all of it.
It is hour by hour here but atleast she is not fighting me when I give her the meds. She is scared since the reaction to the Cymbalta but does take what is being given now. Part of the issue is the doctor doesn't want her being alone until the thoughts of "s" are no longer in her conversation. I never ever dreamed it would come to this.
