Michael just drove 50 miles and is only 10 miles from where he started. he's hoping to find a service station soon.
SWEET INTERUPTIONS 278
Jaye, glad to see you check. Worried about you and all the others with this weather. We are not being spared some of the unpleasantness......thankfully it isn't like the rest of you will be having.
Temps have started to drop here, dark and gloomy outside. There is an open house scheduled at school tonight and so far they have not cancelled it. This does bother me as Bainbridge is having the rain turning to sleet later. Not the best of conditions to be driving home after 7 pm. Please let them announce soon that it is cancelled.
Everyone stay as warm as you can and absolutely no driving around!!!!
Jaye what happened to Kels arm?
Snow is beautiful to look at but not travel in. Please stay home and be safe!
I agree with LK, it is beautiful to look at but not to have to travel in....did that when I was much younger, thank you. Of course I love the time I lived in Canada but I do like it here better. :-)
They finally announced the school will close tomorrow for Bainbridge. Can you say "relief"?
Now waiting to hear if the open house will be cancelled for this evening. Sure hope so.
Kathy, stay in.....do you hear me? :-)
i'm in, don't plan on going out
All activities should be done indoors!! No driving on the roads especially if one live in the South! This snow is meant for our sistahs up north with more experience!
I do hope its cancelled Marion.
LK, Kel has a bad right shoulder, which his doctor believes its' damaged rotator cuff muscles.
The pain comes and go, but the cold aggravates it more now. He does take his Ibuprofen.
How to handle snow? Consult Karen! :D
Everything has been cancelled for Kim. Ah tomorrow will be a jammies day with a cup of hot tea, a good book and kitties for the feet.......if I know her! Might even join her with a good book and my kitty provided I can take her away from Cattley. LOL
I heard on the news that Michigan has had at least 75 inches of snow so far.
Marion, so glad to hear things got cancelled. You stay home too!
Jaye, tell Kel not to lift too much with that shoulder.

Like I told grandDIL from TN, everything in moderation. Don't try to do anything fast. It'll take longer but you will get there..
That makes perfect sense Marion. So, snuggle up with the kitties, if you need more.. let me know!!
I did LK. He grinned and say he'd pop an extra Ibuprofen!
hey ladies
im back home after a two night stay with a friend. Had a good time.
kids have no school today and i don't know about tomorrow ?
Oh dear Jaye another kitty. God sends the smallest ones to you doesn't he as he knows they will be given love and food. Hope Kel can get some relief on his shoulder.
Karen wow that is snow !
Marion hot tea and kitties sound so inviting. wish i could come over.
Temps are bad here. always under 0 . today we did have some sun.
other then that not much else going on
stay warm ladies !
Happy to see you Sue that you've been happily spending some time with a friend and away from the house. We all need a break from ourselves sometimes!
Is it April yet?
yes, stay warm, please Ladies!!
Jaye - does Kel have bursitis too? and another cat? you 2 are God's blessing to kitties.....
Marion - nice that you got a jammies day with Kim :-)
LK 75" of snow?? I can't picture that.........
Hey Sue - missed it..... is your DH better now?
Bob had his physical today - Dr gave him free meds (samples) so we don't need to pay - Lipitor.
Tomorrow am @ 7:30 we're going for "assistance". Doors open at 8:15, but there's a line-up, we hear. We'll get a "number" and an appointment time. Hope we're out of there before he goes for his CT scan tomorrow morning at 9:30. We'll have to come back for the assistance appointment time.
Thursday is Bob's "hearing" in the Winnipeg Law Courts, re: ending his paying Child Support - remember? The "kids" are 24 & married; 22 & working - neither of them apparently living with his ex.. His ex put it off as long as possible, but she HAS to attend this court date.
We've never had the "disposable cash" of $1k to pay for a lawyer - lovely that my daughter's boss (the lawyer) is doing this for us, for disbursement costs only!!
He has an abdominal scan on Saturday.
What a week!!
Good luck in court.
I'm praying for you and Bob, Susan. Hoping all goes well with the scans and that Bob is clear to never have to pay another cent for child support. Ex wife should be made to pay you for all the years you should NOT have been paying anything.
DH had a chemo treatment today and afterward we got groceries and ended up finding a Chinese Deli so he could have a large container of combination fried rice. I just hope he fells like eating it all. And of course, right next to the deli was a Dollar Mission store and a Dollar Tree Store. While he got fried rice I got to do a little shopping and looking around. We had two days of running and that's too much for this old gal. I'm hoping to stay home the rest of the week.
My sister & DH left all the warm sunshine here and had to fly back to Mn. where it is below zero. I'm sure she enjoyed her 2 weeks here, but she said she was glad to get back home. Wish we could have bundled up some sunshine to send back with her. There's no place like home, and Dorothy proved it!
Hurried prayers said for you Susan that the court listens to Bob's unnecessary punishment, and hoping he'd recoup some losses.
Pegi, so you had a very nice reunion with your sister? I'm glad that Darwin chose to stock up on fried rice in case he got the hunger pangs.
What did you find at the thrift stores? Hope you're resting today.
Good morning Sistahs.
I asked the Lord to remove the snow, as sleet's underneat all that, and that makes it dangerous if I want to step out of the house. Kel's forced to take care of outside kitties and he doesn't do a good job like me. He said there's a thousand cat tracks on the white ground!!
But I did thank Him for uninterrupted power. That's very important, as our well pump runs on it.
We had got rid of gas heating here, all electric, which I thought might bite us in times like this.
Coffee and hot choco with danish pastries for all.
Pegi hope he enjoys the rice and glad you had a nice visit with your sis.
Susan sending you love and prayers girl.
-20 outside today brrrr 45 more days until spring .
kids had a delay but are in school .
Tim went back to work yesterday. im glad. The man just gets on my nerves ! I see him trying but really he is just grasping at straws with our marriage. I let go of them straws when jessica died. He never hugged me or gave me a warm embrace when we found out she was dead. He is not cold hearted but is unavailable emotionaly , physicaly ect...
anyway. got a day to myself
hope everyone is warm and safe
Red Letter Day today!!! Bob went to have his CT scan (will get results in about a week), and when we got home - and email from my daughter!! Bob's ex has given up, and there's no court date tomorrow - she signed off on the Child Support!! So, she isn't getting $$ from us, for the "kids" that are 25 & married (since 2010), and 22 & working full time! Neither of them live with his ex anymore, either!
He MAY get a bit back from Maintenance... they said they would hold the funds "in limbo" until the court case is decided, but not sure how far back....
AND, got another email from a friend (Eva), whose sister (Mary) is a Supervisor at The Home Depot. Eva'd asked me to post both our resumes on their site. Mary told Eva that she'd told HR to watch for our resumes, that they're posted! Here's hoping...!
Please keep us in your prayers!
Good news Susan!
That's wonderful Susan!!!! Keeping my fingers crossed and my prayers said!!!
That's what we want to read Susan!! I do hope you'd get some money back. Good luck on Home Depot.
Sue, if you can avoid it, don't you do anything that requires a trip anywhere! We're at 18 and don't plan to rendezvous with any vehicles!!
Sorry that Tim's set in his ways. Was he like that when you first met him?
Kel isn't romantic at all, whereas my ex is superflous in that department. I rather Kel's sincerity than just actions that covers lies.
Okay sistahs.. 'fess up. How's your DH score when it comes to affection?
LK, have you seen snow yet?
It's binge eating here. BLT for lunch and now beef curry with potatoes and cabbage for supper. I have to take extra insulin each time there's rice, even if it's just three tbspn.
No snow here yet. Just a light frost in the mornings.
Todd is very affectionate! Couldn't ask for anything better.
Michael is very affectionate. sometimes to much
My Norm is a sweetie in the everyday things that matter to me. Each morning when I get up, he makes my coffee. He never leaves the house for work without kisses (three) and an I love you. He calls everyday to see if I need anything. And when he comes home - he COOKS!!!!
Yep! He says I spent all those years making meals for the kids growing up that now it's my time to not have to cook. I still do some but I never feel I have to do it. When we leave the house, he always opens the car door for me. This goes back nearly thirty years to our very first date. He came to pick me up at the house, we walked to the car and he went and got in on his side. I just stood there. I've never had to do it again unless it was my choice. Right from day one I let him know I expected to be treated like a lady and I have been always. He loved my Mom and the greatest compliment he gives me is that I am so like her. I'm the luckiest girl in the world.
Yes, my hubby is really sweet too. He likes to hold my hand or put his arm around me when we walk. He is really good to me and I am spoiled and I know it. He likes to take me out to eat on his day off. Thats what I do at work all day is cook. Or he cooks too. Always tells me that dinner was really good. And always tells me he loves me and kisses me when he leaves for work or where ever. We got married when he was 50 first and only marriage for him. 2nd for me. But it has been a great marriage. He knows I would ljke to go for a mini vaca. He is planning it amd doing all the searching for our time away. Planning the whole thing.
Barb, Norm needs to teach new husbands how to value a wife!
Ronna, my BIL had his first wedding at 50 too, and treats his wife like gold. (Wife's 2nd too)
LK, after what you went through with your first, Todd's a keeper for sure.
Sis Kathy.. hmmm...we all know how spoilt you are by Michael!
Kel isn't of the kind that would pull my chair at a restaurant or hold my hand in public, unless I screamed for him!! He'd even walk way ahead of me in public that I intentionally leave the cane behind so he's forced to hold my hand.
His father never taught the sons chivalry. Neither did his mum.
He is not quick to say those three words, I have to demand them!
But when he sees I'm ill or down, he tries to do all that I asked. Got that.. when asked only.
He has been on his own too long, and he still has a long way to go for me to say, he's perfect!!
Your heart will tell you when it's over, Sue.
Pssst.. reminder..
prayers tonight. Thanks.
Sue - I SO hear you, about no affection, etc, in a marriage. It's why I left my marriage of 23 years.
It had been going "downhill" for 8 years, and yet I hung on. The last year was the worst. I stopped eating, and went to 111 lbs. He didn't even notice, never "touched" me in any way at all..... cringed when I went to hug him. When I put on a body suit (and you KNOW that it hides Nothing) I paraded in front of him and he said "are you anorexic?" he hadn't noticed I'd dropped 80lbs.....
When I went to a Marriage counselor, and didn't tell him, afterwards I thought "why am I the only one working on this" so I told him and he went to the next meeting. The Counselor told him "do one thing thoughtful for Susan every day, because she's feeling neglected" and my ex said to me "If I forget, will you remind me?" The counselor's mouth Dropped....... I knew then & there that there was no love left in the marriage, so I wrote a letter to him, presented it, and told him I'd come to see him to talk about it in half an hour. He moved out a couple of days later.
Susan i am in the same boat. Just not loosing weight LOL crazy what we put up with ain't it ?
well not much to do today :( bored beyond words.
Kids went to school no delays
wow North Carolina and Georgia !!! snow !
i was going to get a sewing area arranged with some tables we have but they are in the barn and frozen.
Kitchen table is long and narrow and full of other things LOL

Be careful if you have to travel Sue!
Morning everyone!
Valentine swap is open for one more day, come and check it our.

Good day sistahs of MY choice! Love all of you!!
It will be the Chinese New Year tomorrow but some of my Chinese family are already partaking New Year's eve dinner.
I can envision steamed gingered fish, which is a must, awesome veges and delicious dumplings!
Don't you want to join them?
It's the year of the horse. Kel's a horse. I think so is our Susan?
So supposedly it's a great year and we all will be expecting some prosperity. Let's hope so!
LK, how is the weather holding up in Tx? And what are you up to, craft wise?
Sue I can read the frustrations between the lines and you are forcing yourself to stay busy. Take time to do some yoga at home. Don't want you to get sick from over thinking.
Susan, I guess we all can't have a perfect man. That saying, we need at least 10 men, take the good characteristics from each, and put them in our chosen one, voila.. there's the perfect man.. the sum of 10 others!!
We have made it into the low 30s so far today. Ice starting to melt in areas of the yard but not on the decks. It is so pretty watching the sun play off the droplets as they come down from the tree limbs. Still much to slippery to go walk around the yard though.
I thought I had added last night from my Nook but obviously it didn't send. Ross was by no means perfect (but then neither am I) but for me...well he was just what I needed. Affectionate? Yes but so was his dad. You know what they say about apples not falling far from the tree.
It is 47 right now, supposed to be 60 today.
Not currently doing any sewing, but been thinking of cutting a bunch of hexies for a quilt.
Marion, don't try to take that step outside!! Ice is worse than snow!
Help yourself to God given break time! Stay warm with hot teas and I'm sure there's some delicious cake that Kim has baked.
Indeed, Kel learnt his 'indifference' from both parents. James 'unlearn' it in college, and he's evolved into a very demonstrative person, but still has a heart of ice.
Wheras Kel's heart is all gold. I'll just have to keep on training that boy!
I agree Jaye. I don't think we ever complete their training. :-)
Staying inside and cooking dinner for the Juniors. The girls called and asked grandma to make them a meatloaf. They love it as much as their dad so guess I will do that and make them happy.
Marion, Kel never would touch his mother's meat loaf. The folks around here add chunks of bread, instead of breadcrumbs.
If I believe in reincarnation, I want to return as yours or Karen's family member! Food, glorious happy food!
