Jaye isn't feeling well, so she asked me to start a new room. We will lock Gidget in the old rom. LOL
SWEET INTERUPTIONS 278
Get well soon Jaye!
Thanks for the new room Kathy!
Your new couch!? OMG! That bad little girl!!
Went out to lunch to a tea room with the GDO crew and spent $18.00 on lunch and only drank, water! Why does everything have to be so expensive??!
Hope you feel better soon, Jaye.
Thanks everyone.
Sending prayers that you feel better quickly Jaye....
aww Jaye.... no getting sick on MY watch!! I hope you feel better soon :-)
Should tell you what's going on in our household.....
My DH passed out the beginning of Dec - he was in the living room, laying on the couch, and I was in the den, on the computer. I went into the dining area, next to the living room, didn't see him, he didn't answer, and I checked all the rooms in the house, the deck, backyard...... car was still here. so I decided he'd gone to help a neighbour and I went back to the den.
20 min later, I went out to the kitchen to start dinner, and looked towards the living room - he was out cold on the floor, between the loveseat and coffee table..... I wasn't able to rouse him for quite awhile.
When I did, he put his glasses back on (they were about 8" from him) and stood up rather shakily.
He said he was fine. He'd stood up too quickly when he stood up from the couch, he said.
I watched him for 3 days, very carefully. Now, before you say I should have called an ambulance - it's $250, and we don't get a sr discount, so that was NOT an option.
anyway - flash forward to Jan 6 evening before I'm to go to Winnipeg.. he said he wasn't feeling good, in the same way as before... I went for the week to Winnipeg, worrying about him, you bet!!
Last Friday he went to my Dr (now his too), and today he went for the full Bloodwork and EKG.
btw - after the bloodwork, they sent him to the waiting room, because they watch people for 10 min afterwards...... and wouldn't you know it - Bob passed out again! When he came to, people were standing around him....
I wasn't with him, because it wasn't far, and I figured - it's just bloodwork, after all! And I stay close to my phone & email in case I hear anything about my mom.......
We have a app't with his Dr next Tues, to discuss the results of his tests today......
Praying that Bob doesn't have anything serious. I understand about not calling ambulance, would cost us that much too. Everyone has their hand out for the money we don't have. I have to check on my DH when he lays down for a nap. He sleeps for hours, but he does put on the sleep apnea mask.
My computer is having some issues. I read that Windows XP is becoming obsolete by April 8th and won't be able to get any help. These guys from India keep calling and telling me about all the errors I have and of course they will go through it for $50. I keep telling them I don't have any money, what part of NO money don't they understand. When I get some money I should call them. Ya, right!! I think it is about time I start a fund for new computer.
Get well soon Jaye. We are all suppose to be healthy and happy this year.
We don't file taxes, LK. Just have social security comeing in and they think because my mortgage company takes most of our payment in interest we shold have sufficient funds to file taxes. Just going to send a copy of what we get each money and let them figure it out. I think they should be sending me money at the end of the tax year. The Lord has been providing for us, sometimes I wonder how I can have a little money left over at the end of the month. LOL
Susan, sending prayers for Bob. Sounds like he has a blood pressure problem. And your lucky, and ambulance ride here is $1250.00.
Pegi, good luck with your tax problem!
Morning everyone! 54 right now, but supposed to drop to 34 tonight.
Pegi, I'm sure you're aware, those calls are scams. They are persistent so I guess it must work often enough for them to keep trying.
Susan, I sure hope all will be well with Bob. I agree sounds like a blood pressure thing. Standing and moving too fast can make me feel woozey too.
Pegi, no one knows what errors you have unless they have your computer in front of them, or you give them access to it. If they call again, just hang up on them!
So true Pegi, don't feel you have to be polite to them, after all they are trying to steal from you.
Wow lots of health problems here. My dad went for a colonoscopy and he found out he has cancer. So he is having a surgery on 2-5. Scared of course. But he seems to have confidence in his doc. He is sure he can get it all. Jays sure hope you are feeling better soon. We are under a possible blizzard warning tomorrow starting in the morning. Until sat morning. Cold cold weather for the next week negitive 2 to negative 8 overnight. Only 13 during the day. They just said on the news that the great lake michigan is already 94% frozen over. Which is way early for this time of year.. bbbbrrr is all I can keep saying.
Bob - he has High Cholesterol. Blood pressure, sugar, etc, all fine, otherwise.
Test on Tues, and Dr called at 1:30 for a 2:00 app't, so we went right away. Showed up 10 min early and Dr. saw him right away. He's not a smoker or drinker, but they say his LDL in his bloodstream & liver. "At risk", so needs to make a lifestyle change. More exercise (he's 63 years old, 6'3" and 170 lbs, so he's really very fit), less red meat, no crackers & cheese for evening snack, no cookies. He has porridge or Cheerios for breakfast every day. I really don't know where all the cholesterol comes from, but we'll have to watch.
Mom - my daughter, Michelle, had a lovely surprise yesterday when she visited my mom and saw Grandma in a wheelchair at the nurses' station, feeding herself lunch! She really (desperately) wanted out of bed, but obviously needed assistance. And the aide couldn't stay with mom for an hour until she ate all her meal, so this was a good option. I'm sure Mom is happy to have gotten out of bed.
We've given up the semi-care apartment.
Sorry to hear about your dad finding out he has cancer. Sending lots of prayers.
Susan glad to hear you both have a good Dr.
I just emailed the friend who brought us 2 bags of beef, the other night, and asked her opinion of what to do with the red meat, because now we can't have it - it's one of the worst things for cholesterol. If Bob can't eat red meat, I won't either! It'll probably be good for my weight anyway...
We have lots of turkey, chicken, and pork in the freezer.
Now, we just need to buy fish....
Morning everyone! Coffee is ready!
morning, getting ready for dr. appointment. 8 degrees here
Thanks for the coffee LK. Busy running around with Kim yesterday.....she had several doctor's appointments and we were lucky.....made it one on time.
All reports were good....just needs to do more exercising. You would think walking like she does in the classroom but.....so we shall resume our walking each day. Well maybe every other day to start until it is light longer and a wee bit warmer.
Sorry to hear you dad has cancer Gardenlady. Keeping you and family in my prayers.
Sending my prayers too.
Must be doctor week as I'm off for an electro-cardiogram and blood work this afternoon. Just routine.....
I have to go for blood work too, They said to check something with my kidneys. Last I knew everything there was fine but they did say that scan last June on my legs was hard on the kidneys because of the stuff they had to shoot in. Since that scan was totally unnecessary....it was ordered before complete results of ultrasound were in.... I'm gonna be more than ticked if it has messed them up.
I will go on Monday for my yearly........where has the time gone?
Barb and Karen, here is hoping for the very best of results for both. Stay safe and warm.
hello ladies
Tim is home with pneumonia. yep i told him !! LOL i wondered about hs cough last week, Just glad he went to the dr when he did and didn't continue to be stubborn :)

bbl to chat more
going to 50F this afternoon here - only 43 at the moment..........
Well ladies, I am off to San Antonio for the week end. Going to see my Granddaughter. I will be back Sunday, and I will try to post when I can.
Be good!
have a safe trip linda k.
good morning/afternoon depends on where all of you are hiding. Sorry to hear of so many dr. appointments; DH starts on Monday again. Oncologist on Monday & blood work then chemo on Tuesday. He isn't looking forward to that. Hoping all goes well for everyone.
Our temps. are dropping a little, but we are suppose to be cool instead of the heat we were having. Young man came out yesterday to upgrade our security. Well, the new panel doesn't work right so have to wait for a new one to come then have to call them out again. He worked so hard to get it working right too.
Get Tim well soon Sue!!
Yes lots of things going on. Hope all the blood tests and everything goes well for everyone. Pretty scary to think anything could happen at anytime. We are both doing good now. My poor hubby had a bad bout with divaticulitous last summer.Poor guy. He was pretty sick in the hospital for a week. He is fine now. He is getting ready to go out to the very fridgid weather. Dreading it I am sure. Have had a pj day myself and really enjoyed it too. Did a little cleaning and made dinner but thats about all. Have to work at 530 a.m. so my day off will be done then. But off again on monday. The wind chill is minus 20 or something stupid like that. I just started my car and ran back in. Then back out to turn it off. Lol
Hugs everyone.
Sis Kathy, Karen, Barb and Marion, I hope your tests and doctors' visits will turn out good.
and most important, no overcharged bills!
Sure hope the same for Darwin too, Pegi.
It must be age related Susan. If Bob likes his steaks, it will take him some time to get used to an all white meat diet.
I'm happy to read that your mum's still alert, though she may be weak.
Oh my.. Tim has pneumonia? Sue, is he an easy patient? Well, lots of 'jook' for him with slivers of ginger. That will get his lungs going.
Ronna, we'll add your dad to our prayer list. Will you be able to accompany him on the 5th?
At what stage is the cancer?
I wonder if ice fishing has started in Lake Michigan!
LK, enjoy your visit sistah!
Marion, what you did to Kim was so funny!! Did she make the onion dessert or you had to chop her!! I sure don't want to compete with you on Cutthroat Kitchen!
My dear, dear sistahs that have to bear freezing temps, I feel for you.
It's been in the teens and my bones are screeching! I think I lost whatever plants I have in the gh. Oh well, another disastrous year.
I'm back on Citalopram. 20 mg. It makes me drowsy too and slow witted like right now.
I can handle two or three lines of words but beyond that, my brains have to keep rereading the rest.
No rest for me today. Have to accompany Kel to the beach for his supply. Thank God it doesn't call for rain, if not he'd be forced to stay home.
Ice fishing all over the state Jaye, In fact, Houghton Lake is having their annual winter carnival...Tip-Up Town. Folks up here drive right out on the ice like in the movie Grumpy Old Men. It looks like a campground on the lake.
This is hubby clearing the cars this morning after a blizzard with another 8", we are up to about 4' on the ground now. With the snow all light and fluffy he finds the leaf blower works best and fastest on the cars.

After seeing your picture Karen, I'll not be complaining about any snow. Cold - yes, but snow? No!!!
What a great idea about clearing the cars with a leaf blower!!! I must send that idea to my daughter....
way to cool jaye
Karen may be able to but not me. I live in a complex now and the snow is removed. There are one or two tall banks but nowhere near our apartment....Would be cool though.
Gee if only we hadn't cleared it away from the door. Could really use an extra fridge.
Kim hasn't done anything with her basket so far. She has been spending her extra time grading projects anf test papers. Will post when she does.
Can you believe our paper had headlines this morning that Tallahasse might have snow Wednesday! I do know it is miserable today and our weather is suppose to go downhill again starting tomorrow. I am so ready for Spring.
Hello Ladies,
So sorry for the ones with cold weather issues. We have been in the low to mid 70's and this is January?????
My diet is going well ^_^ I'm losing a pound a day.
Susan you may want to cut out pork too. It's full of saturated fats.
Pork too? I thought about it being a fatty meat, but he was just told Red meat.....
however, he's not a real big red-meat-eater..... I am the one lol
We got some halibut & salmon yesterday - Salmon was the same price as the Halibut...... gotta Love sales lol
It's not that cold here in Canada..... warmer than northern GA I hear. It's in the double digits (Celcius), 11C which is 54F..... not bad for the cold part of the year lol
