Thought i would move us over to a new room
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1346256/#new
Glad you followed me over..hugs
Downstairs is dry and none the worse for the flooding!
Know the answers you will all give but will run it by you
Looked out the window to see what the weather was like..not snowing
I could see some movement just down from my driveway, saw there were two kids a gabbing, not doing mischief, had hockey sticks in their hands
I opened the door and called the name Noah, got an answer, it was young Noah that helps me do gardening from time to time, asked what he was doing out at this time of morning and he said he was having a sleepover..it was only minutes after 4:00am, after we spoke off they went
Thoughts are to phone Michelle in the a.m.
Don't want to be the tattle tale neighbor but I like this kid and don't want anything to happen to him..he also has asphergers syndrome and has no concept at times in right/wrong decisions
If I do call my thoughts are to ask I'd they will have noahncome over to tell him it's because I care and worry about his well being
The worse of my day? not easy being the child of an aging parent
The best..getting to spend time with my nephew and have a few laughs with him
What did I learn today..to be more cautious of what I unplug
Right or wrong?

Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Chat with friends new&old
If this Noah has Asperger's I would call the parents. Imagine if this was your Kyle or your Noah and nobody let Greg and Mel know....
How is the water situation now? I'm so sorry you came home to that and Greg was right to give you a bit of He-- for standing in the water and unplugging things!!!! You could have been killed!!! I thank God you are okay.
Looking forward to today. I GET TO GO OUT FOR A WHILE!!!! I'm going shopping at Joann's and maybe one of the quit shops. I feel like a little kid at Christmas.

Good to hear you're getting out Barb ^_^
Enjoy, and, I hope all the bargains are still there!
Betty, I'm flippin well speechless, gobsmacked, by the basement situation .. I sure wouldn't best myself up over forgetting to plug something in though, you've bee a bit distracted for awhile ..
I'm with Barb, I'd phone the MoM
Off to shower and start a busy day ..
Toodles
~M~
Hard to know what to do. I think maybe you should because of his situation. On one hand I'm thinking they were just being typical boys. They weren't tiring to break in to the store next door and they were close to home, but with the asphergers I guess I'd clue Mom in.
Just having my first cup of Java. Slept in. We've been watching "Weeds" on Netflix. Funny. We watch 3 or 4 episodes at a time.
No big plans today. Have some straightening to do in the Christmas storage area. Maybe I'll get the gumption to do that.
Oh Betty, I'm so sorry you had to deal with that when you got home last night. Glad it's all dry this morning. How was your Mom? I'm really glad no one has punched her out yet!
Morning,
Told Paul what you did Betty...he rubbed his eyebrows and "ohhh man". Not good!!!
Definitely call the Mom.....better you call them then something happen, and get called by
police or such. Boys that age do not belong out at 4:00 a.m. And with his disability, parents should know.

((((Debbie)))) cyber hugs coming your way.
Loading truck today and hitting the road tomorrow hopefully early. So hard to light a fire under people sometimes. Went over yesterday to help pack and found her just sitting on bedroom floor crying overwhelmed by the whole thing. We managed to get most packed and they did too (after being told almost every step of the way). We took everyone to dinner as a welcome respite. We headed back to DGDs and left them instructions on what to do the rest of the evening. Sheesh it gets frustrating at times. I've moved many times and never had all this hoorah over it. Don't know what we'd do without DGDs fiance, he's a big strong dude and ever so helpful. I can pack but not carry and hubby tries, has a tendency to over do and that worries me. So glad most of what we are taking is just stuff, most of the furniture except for dressers and babies, things isn't worth moving and no appliances. Aahhh this too shall pass.
Thought I'd check up on our SANTA WARREN EXCHANGE, with all that was going on Dianne and I (she with no Internet, me with Jim) I didn't get to see all the oooh's and ahhh's so if you haven't posted photo of your treasures or haven't sent them out please post so I can follow up..wouldn't want anyone doing without..
Betty. sent and received

Sorry you came home to such a mess Betty. Was anything ruined?
Back from Walmrt
New rug, few totes to put what I put under the staircase in so there won't be damage
On the bright side, one of my 30 items for spring cleaning was wash the floor, buy a rug , clean under the staircase and clean tv unit..guess I'll clean the tv unit today and voila a big job done.
Did buy chicken while I was out so I could make chicken and slidders for Greg tonight, his favorite, already got the no need but what a treat.
Karen, that is one big act of love, hooe they know it..safe travels, know you checked the weather enroute, any bad weather on the days you are travelling?
Debbie, hugs my friend! I so hoped her living arrangements would have worked out so you had no stress for awhile..think next time we get together we'll have strong hugs to give each other.
Barb, can't wait to hear what you find at Joann's
Joyce. Lol at punching her out but I gave as good as she was dishing out..she was sooo childish, you can't believe some of the things that upset her..I feel so sorry for my nephew staying with her.
"M". If you don't laugh at situations surely you will cry..don't want to go there.
When I got ome municipal backhoe was on the street pushing back snow banks so that residents can see where when pulling out onto the street
Had him clean the ditch where the water drain is..might help
Off to wire the plug
Luckily just the rug, some shoes (old anyway) few places I have to repair the painted floor, not bad at all
Going to go back to where I posted about Santa Warren exchange, I will update it as well once all post
Let me know if you've sent and received
I'm hoping the weather will be OK, It's why I was pushing to leave YESTERDAY, The forecast was good through tomorrow. It's a big push to go 750 miles in one day especially with a 1 year old with us. We can pop into our DDs in the Lansing area if it gets ugly.
Glad you have a backup plan..makes it easier when you have a plan..
Called Michelle, Noah's mom but I guess when they moved across the street they changed their number..must see if I'm ambitious enough to walk over. Lol
Just need to dust the cabinet and voila, family room done, tick my list it's done and feel better for it.
I guess my purging mission comes from the thought of helping mom do same, yikes, what a chore that will be so will try and clean every corner so my boys won't have to do it for me
Too funny, told them to call all my crafting friends to come take what they want, likely not much would be left to worry about!

If I missed anyone, please let us know?
Good morning, friends. I slept in until almost 10am; very unusual for me. I try to be up by 8 or, even better, 7. Oh well, I'm readjusting to the pain meds so I'm up and down with moods and energy. No big deal.
I laughed out loud at the idea of punching out Betty's mom. aybe you could slip some VAlium in her tea and give her caretakers a break.
Susan, hope you visit with your mom continues to go well. Do you return home on Tuesday?
Debbie, my heart goes out to you. No easy answers. No easy decisions. It is not good for either of you to continue to allow her to return. Any possibility of a shelter or a half-way house of some sort? Perhaps you could contact your local Adult Social Servies agency and see if they can sugggest any help. I have a friend who is no longer speaking to me because she continues to insist that her40-plus daughter is really doing well - back at home for the umpteenth time and unable to support herself financially or inother ways. The mom is around 60 and I warned her that things don't seem to be improving. So the friend no longer speaks to me. The daughter is still at home and is still whiney and ungrateful. I have a mental picture of my friend on her death bed with her daughter whining, "But, Mommy, I need a ride." AAAAAAAAARGGGGGGGG.
If you take her back in, will anything change? I watched my parents do the same thing with my younger sister, always convinced that she was fine. They untimately paid a heavy price for their denial and I did, too. At some point you have to put yourself first. Especially, when you don't seem to be able to help her.
Like Betty, I'm doing organizing/cleanup. The t-shirts are all in boxes and labeled. Tony will help eal the boxes tomorrow and put them in the storage shed to await whatever happens net. We have a bunch of boxes so I can sort kitchen and other stuff and box up what I might sell at the next yard sale, whenever it is.
I'm still laughing at the idea of giving Betty's mom a quick wake-up pop across the face. The trouble with people who are really selfish is that they don't see it and cannot percieve that there is any other way to be. Hence, the valium suggestion.
hugs, katie
Just a note to let you know that Mary's present came from Debbie. I show that
LK, Thunder Marion and Crissy as well as myself have not received their gift or did not post that they received it. Did anyone drop out from the list posted above?
Don't think so Barb, will keep checking
Katie be back in a buy, got to put bread on
HIya ..
I think I am covered re Barb (I got my Santa Warren from her, LOVED it) and, I sent my Santa Warren to Debbie (should have included some valium it seems)
Thanks to Betty and LindaK for keeping track ..
Debbie .. I am feeling so bad for you .. years ago when DS was 'acting out' (he was 18-19) we made a 'contract' with him .. it included consequences for breaking the stipulations on the contract .. swearing and being crude seemed his THING, were he to do that in front of me more than twice, he was OUT .. he ended up at my brothers (he had agreed to be his safe place for 2 nights if needed) .. but, my brother (a Dad of six) made sure Murray PAID for breaking the contract .. wood splitting, gravel raking, Murray was happy to come home.
Perhaps it would work for you?
Katie has some valid points, and you do as well .. when you start to dislike your kids, things HAVE to change ..
Betty .. if I made an actual LIST of things I needed to DO in the house, well, I'd be stuck in here forever !!!
Glad you have the STICKTOITIVENESS ^_^
Went to the gym with Lorna, gosh she had a great work out ! Then, off to get spaghetti and meatballs at the local Italian Hall .. fund raiser for Hospice .. $30. for the 3 of us .. I had brought a Corning Ware casserole and it was full to over flowing !!!!
Have it in the oven keeping warm ..
Stole a meatball .. OMG!!! TOooooooo good LoL
Call from DDin law .. she had Austin at Emerg .. he officially has strep and is on penicillin .. good grief .. I'm not looking forward to this babysitting job .. have to be up at 4am to get Murr and Alison to the airport for 5am .. back to theirs to get Brooklyn up and drive her to school, Austin is to stay home for 2 days .. minimum !!
SHEESH! .. not getting upset as I want Murr and Alisons trip to go better than well.
Add to that their 3 hyper dogs, ahhhhhhhhhhhh .. CALGON TAKE ME AWAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm going to have a glass of wine and pack my little bag .. DH is being so calm and cool .. makes me nuts , seems to be a firefighter thing !
Take care everyone
Hugs all round

Sounds like you need to pack the bottle of wine... maybe two!
On my list !! LoL
Betty as usual I am exhausted just reading what you have done/dealt with today. Did clean some kitchen cupboards and rearrange them so guess I did accomplish something.
I thought I had posted that I did receive a wonderful fantastic box from Dianne. Then my memory could be failing me. Will get pictures to post.....I am still overwhelmed with all the wonderful things Diane sent. I will be mailing my box out tomorrow....sorry buddy but I had one thing special I wanted to include and it just came in on Friday.
hello everyone - thank you for your thoughtful prayers, etc
I spent the night with Mom. She had a very fitful night - had to have morphine for pain. Alice says it's "phantom pain". Anyway, I sang her to restfulness, and rubbed her back, forehead and stroked her hair. She calmed down then (she had been hallucinating). I think I got about 3 1/2 hours of broken sleep.
The hospital was sweet - the "overnight stay" was a last minute decision when I found out that I could stay. They provided me with my meds (for epilepsy), and a cot next to Mom's bed.
This morning she woke up very slowly...... then ate breakfast, then went back to sleep.
The nurse says that usually someone in her state has a good day, then it's all downhill. She had 2 good days in a row, so they have no idea other than she's "spunky".
When Alice came by, I caught a ride home with her husband (to my daughter's that is).
I then had a 2 hour nap, then dinner.
Heading back tomorrow - should arrive at 10am, then leaving at 4pm to meet a friend, then back to Michelle's for dinner.
I go back home Tuesday am, so tomorrow is my last visit with Mom.
Julie has the bird feeder swap open, come and check it out!
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1347314/
Morning,
Silver lining today, not snowing, no freezing rain!
Thanks for the link LindaKay, joining the swap would be a way of encouraging the birds to drop buy and remind us that spring is just around the corner, oh happy days.
Katie, when is the next sale? How many t shirts would you say you have? Is your storage at your home or do you have a unit? Glad the meds are finally helping, takes a week or so to kick in?
Susan, bet you are dreading the thought of leaving tomorrow, a blessing you've been able to spend time with your mom and that she has been able to enjoy the time as well..hard when you see them at their lowest then see them improve then change back..hugs
LindaKay, did your fever break? How many of the family will be able to attend your dad's 80th...
thanks for the birdhouse link, will be a thrill when the rooms arrive..see you have your request for a hummer feeder, are you south enough to have them all winter long?
Barb, what treasures did you get at Joann's yesterday..enjoy your outing?
Debbie, we're you able to relax and enjoy your day yesterday?
Best of yesterday..spoke with mom, she was positive and upbeat and having family here for supper, just wish they hadn't stayed till 11:00. Lol
Worse of the day....
I remember Andrew (plowman)yams Rita I were talking how odd it was the store was not open next door on new years?? In all the years ive lived here it has never been closed..I said perhaps it had something to do with them losing their 43 year old son re heart attack only a few days before Christmas??
Melanie last night told me that Clara was going up Maple St (my street)in the storm New Years eve, must have gotten her car stuck, went to check and a vehicle hit her..she lost a lef and is fighting for her life in a Toronto hospital
How very sad..she is such a nice lady..not sure what will happened re variety store..either she or her hubby manned the store from 8a.m. To 10 p.m. 7 days a week
What did I learn? That I'm starting to get the heebie jeebies, need to start sewing again..time for moping after the last month should be over
Oh Betty - how sad. I will pray for her.
I DID get to go out yesterday and it was so nice. I had the window down in the car just for the fresh air!!! I have bought a lot of fabrics on-line over the last two months so yesterday was to pick up some yarn. I have a couple of projects to get done for other people and I fell in love with an small afghan throw so bought some peach (Think orange creamsicle) and white to do that.
A woman who live upstairs from me - Denise - has asked me if I would like to go to the library with her on Friday afternoons. There is a knitting club that meets and she said they do crochet and other handwork as well. As soon as the weather permits, I am taking her up on it.
It will be a good way to make new friends in this neighborhood once I can go out more.
I have been walking up and down the halls here to get some exercise. Think I will increase to two or three times a day to increase my stamina. I have become very sedentary these past few months and that is not good.
Off to do my breathing machine. Have a great day everyone.....
Truck loaded, on the road today, Nuff said.
Have a safe trip Karen. We will pray for good weather and roads all the way home!
Betty, so sorry to hear of your neighbors losing their son! Also sending prayers for Clara.
Betty, we have hummingbirds here from mid February to mid November. They migrate to Mexico for a few months then return.
Happy Birthday Katie!!! Hope it is wonderful, restful, and happy!!!!
Katie is enjoying the hummers right now then..
no hummers for me but I'm anxious to put my new birdhouse up..must find out what kind of birds it attracks..so nice almost hate to put it out, Suzanne says I must!
Safe travels Karen
Barb, it will give you something to look forward to come spring..you'll enjoy working on something other than something to sew..colors are so spring like..glad you are getting some excersize
I while cooking supper yesterday got some fleece no sew blankets, put them in space bags and under the bed till christmas...giving my head a shake
Fabricland has 75% off on Thursday so picking a project, non Christmas lol and will go purchase fabric I need..did order patterns via e-pattern, was a nice Valentines Day throw, might consider doing a few, one for me and one for Julie and Melanie
after my talk with mom I've spoken to her 3 times, one this morning and it's been a pleasure speaking with her, here is hoping it continues
GROAN, was up at 3:30am to get to our sons before 5am .. sure can't complaian about traffic at that hour, but boy am I tired now !
Both kids were up to say goodbye, teras were shed, and off they went to the airport.
The kids and I hung out, then I made them breakfast and Gord took Brooklyn to school at 8:30
I hung back with Austin who will be home from school until Wed. actually a good thing as he is showing me where things are and how they work ..
Using DS laptop, not user friendly, so I may not be on too much.
Happy BDay Katie :-)
Going to try for a nap
M
OMG, didn't see it listed in birthday corner
Hear me singing 'Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Katie, happy birthday to you'...ok so I'm off tune but you know it's a heartfelt birthday wish.
"M" you'll enjoy time with the grankids..week will go by and before you know it.
Glad to hear she is pleasant to talk to!
Maybe she will realize that you will talk more when she is pleasant. Makes a big difference.
Have fun with the grands "M".
Glad to hear you are feeling better LK.
back from the specialist
gorgeous day out there..
said if I was cautious I can do without surgery for the time being..pain right now is bursitis and arthritis..checked my history and because of major problems with the kidneys he suggested I try not to have a cortisone shot until I cannot stand the pain..
going to forward report to my doctor as to make therepy appointments.
SOOOO that was fantastic news, still in pain but no surgery right now, can't ask for better than that!
Might go dancing on Bourbon Street this summer after all lol (kidding of course, hmmm perhaps not)
No, she isn't kidding...there will be dancing. AND if surgery...she has new hip to shake it!!! O:)
Take it easy on that hip Betty!
You could be on your way to the surgery center but you are not!!! Fantastic news.
Now it will be interesting to see how much you take it easy....But please try okay?????
