I know Ostrich Fern is drought tolerant....
So Aspen, please add on one flat of Matteuccia struthiopteris LP32 - 32 per flat.
Looks like this will finally be my "back 40" year (as we fondly refer to the small area behind our house!)
North Creek Group Buy
Query: If we eat the fiddleheads, does that impact the plant's growth?
SSG, I'll go ahead and take that other 1/4 flat for the geranium:
Geranium maculatum 'Espresso' / 32 / now: Happy 1/2, SSG 1/4, Catmint 1/4
For the Oenothera fruticosa 'Fireworks', I'd prefer the LP50 flat--I too would feel more comfortable with the larger plugs!
Ooh, Coleup, I'm definitely going to want some of your A. inc 'Ice Ballet'! :-) Looking forward to all those happy cats and butterflies!
I've also noticed the Dryopteris Brilliance in the past and have thought about getting some.
Catmint - are you interested in splitting a Brilliance flat with me?
I've been out of pocket since Monday afternoon dealing with my mother's health issues, and will need some time to catch up here - I'll update everything on Saturday, so keep your requests coming and look for consolidation info this weekend... Terri
Happy, I would be willing to do a 1/4 flat if I knew others were interested in cash-trading them. I could only accommodate one of them in my yard, because my moist shade spot is very small.

Coleup: Wouldn't my Geranium flat be an adder too because it wasn't previously added by Aspen?
Does the edit above take care of it Sequoia? I had just put a 2 in front of other already completed in Aspen's original list but This does make it clearer. Thanks.
Much better, thanks!
Aspen: I'm sure I speak for all of us: This co-op can be on hold as long as you like, or if you wish, the rest of us can step up to the plate to figure out what needs to be ordered. It's all your call, once you have some time after taking care of your Mom and getting some rest. If plants sell out, so be it. There is always next year.
Coleup: You are a star to take this on! Two small changes:
--I'm committed to the other 1/2 flat of Viola walteri 'Silver Gem' / 32 / Aspen (1/2).
--I'll commit to a full flat of Dryopteris erythrosora 'Brilliance' LP32 - 32 per flat (catmint, you and anyone else who wants it can take plants from me -- just dmail me).
My back yard is going to look fabulous! I'm thinking of putting the Brilliance in front of azaleas. I am guessing it won't be tall enough before the azaleas bloom in the spring to block the azalea display -- what do you think? But will it be too big in front of the azaleas later in the season, screening them from any sunlight? It grows to 18" - 30" according to North Creek, but only to 24" according to Mobot.
I'll put some in patio pots. I'll also put it in front of some ugly chain link fences -- I can think of lots of places. And it spreads by rhizomes -- yay! Note that despite what North Creek says, it may not be a good choice for dry shade -- Mobot says it needs constant moisture -- see http://www.missouribotanicalgarden.org/PlantFinder/PlantFinderDetails.aspx?kempercode=e149
So far I'm in for
helleborus nigercor "candy love" winter -------------1/4 flat
helleborus nigercor "snow love winter magic"------1/4 flat
Yehudith
Please add
Helleborus Brandy wine-------1/4 flat
Yehudith
I really want to order lots more but I have to take care of these babies and I still have all the lily scales that I'm going to have to pot on not to mention seedlings by the score.
Yehudith
If it is still available, I will take the remaining 1/4 flat of Oenothera fruticosa 'Fireworks' . Why do I even bother to tell myself 'No more plants!!' ?
And why should you?
Yehudith: With 18 plants being in a flat of the Brandywine helleborous, do you want to split it in 1/3s? That would be 6 plants per. If you split in 1/3s, I'd be down for 1/3 of it.
Hooray, catbird! Now we have a full flat of Oenothera Fireworks!
Yehudith, Helleborus Snow Love isn't going to be available until 2015, so we can't get it this year.
Here's their latest availability chart in pdf: http://www.northcreeknurseries.com/_ccLib/downloads/North+Creek+Availability+-+All+Plugs.pdf
They don't have a lot of hellebores left.
Yeah Catbird, even if you have no lawn left, there would still be room left for more plants...that's just crazy talk.
Although I myself said no more in this group buy but here I am telling Yehudith I'll split some...lol
I'd take the other 1/3rd of the new Brandywine flat.
Plus we ordered another flat of Brandywine with Catmint taking 1/4, ssg taking 1/4, and me taking 1/2. Catmint and ssg, should we adjust our percentages on the original flat? How many plants do you each want? Should we go to even thirds (6 plants each) to avoid the 4.5 plants problem? Or divide it some other way? Or just fix it behind the scenes?
Coleup, are you willing to continue your self-appointed volunteer position as co-op updater? That way, we can save Aspen the hassle of doing that. It sounds as if the sooner she can place the next portion of the order the better, if flats are selling out, so it would be nice to save her the time of updating the summary (which she'd still need to transfer to the Excel spreadsheet). -->To be clear, I do not in any way mean to impose any pressure on Aspen to do anything quickly -- I'm ok if the whole co-op gets postponed to next year -- but thought it might be nice to shift some of the work off her shoulders just in case she is able to return to it this season.
Happy, I'm always better with taking a smaller amount. I'll dmail catmint to iron it out.
I'll update completed full flats as we go along. May have time after paper route to tackle partial flats and add in Yehudiths Hellebor quarter flats if the are available. I'm caught up to this point
ssg -- I'm totally flexible with the number I take, so we can just work it out behind the scenes.
Coleup: Hooray for you! PLMK if I can help.
Coleup: Catbird isn't in on our flat of Brandywine Helleborous. It's Yehudith 1/3, Sequoia 1/3, and Happy 1/3. From what I've read, it looks like Happy is doing partials of two Brandywine flats.
Catbird is doing 1/4 of the Oenothera fruticosa 'Fireworks'
Just trying to keep it in line, I hope you don't mind :)
Coleup: I agree with Sequoia:
Your last post currently includes these lines:
Helleborus "Brandywine' / 18 / Happy (1/2) + SSG (1/4) + Catnint (1/4)
Helleborus "Brandywine' / 18 / Yehudith (1/3.+ Catbird (1/3 +Sequoia (1/3
I think instead it should read as follows (with changes in upper-case):
Helleborus "Brandywine' / 18 / Happy (1/2) + SSG (1/4) + CATMINT (1/4)
Helleborus "Brandywine' / 18 / Yehudith (1/3) + HAPPY (1/3) + Sequoia (1/3)
Again, thanks for taking care of these updates. Many kisses coming at you!
Ha Ha, we cross posted!
Can you imagine what the growers are going through right now? Hurray for the Plant Kingdom and us 'animals' who get to dwell within it.
Up to dat to here BBL for 'changes'.
Judy
I suggest that everyone post any changes you are thinking of tomorrow, and meanwhile everyone who is ordering should review Coleup's post above -- http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/p.php?pid=9748992 -- and approve it (or not). If all of us who are ordering agree that Coleup has it exactly right with respect to our own orders, no one (and most especially not AspenHill) will have to sort through the orders to verify Coleup's summary.
Finished dinner, summary of Partial Flats should be up soon. Feel free to keep discussing, and correcting!.
ThanksJust do any updates or corrections in a new post following this one so I don't have to back track.
And, yes I am having fun!

I'd take the other 1/3rd of the new Brandywine flat.
Plus we ordered another flat of Brandywine with Catmint taking 1/4, ssg taking 1/4, and me taking 1/2. Catmint and ssg, should we adjust our percentages on the original flat? Hi. I'm just seeing this. I don't personally need many of the Brandywine Hellobores (would be happy with just a couple), so if someone else wants to take on more, I'm fine with that, as long as I can get a couple of them. :-)
Just thinking about it some more: I would be fine dropping out of the flat of Brandywine, and just cash-swapping someone for one or two of the plants. I was mostly just trying to help make a full flat so others who wanted it could have it. :-)
I'm glad there was enough interest in the Oenothera 'Fireworks' to get a flat of that!! :-)
Looks good to me Coleup! Thanks for helping out Aspen :)
If we need it I can happily take more of any of the hellibores. I have a whole hillside I want to cover with them.
Yehudith
Donner -- you are welcome to whatever you want. I need a place to record who I have promised what to. Maybe I'll use this post.
So:
Happy_Macomb agrees to the following at cost:
--Meehania cordata (5 or 10 to Donnerville)
--Geranium Bevan's Varities (3 to ssg)
If anyone else wants anything from the flats I am getting, you are welcome to it. JLMK.

Coleup -- So I think the row that now reads:
--Helleborus "Brandywine' / 18 / Happy (1/2) + SSG (1/4) + Catnint (1/4)
Should be revised to read as follows, in light of Catmint's post above:
--Helleborus "Brandywine' / 18 / Happy (1/2) + SSG (1/4) + Yehudith (1/4)
But I propose we make one further edit, to make the flat easier to divide:
Helleborus "Brandywine' / 18 / Happy (1/3) + SSG (1/3) + Yehudith (1/3)
Then SSG can do a private deal to Catmint for the one or two plants that Catmint wants. Does that work for all involved? I am happy to take more, and Yehudith may be as well -- we both have hills to fill.
Happy, that works for me to get 1/3 of Brandywine. I'll get in touch with Catmint about splitting up my third.
Also, I'm getting my own 1/4 flat of Espresso, so I don't need those 3 plugs, only Bevan's Variety.
Perfect - I'll edit my post above. Thanks, ssg.
