Looks like this will finally be my "back 40" year (as we fondly refer to the small area behind our house!)

Query: If we eat the fiddleheads, does that impact the plant's growth?

SSG, I'll go ahead and take that other 1/4 flat for the geranium:
Geranium maculatum 'Espresso' / 32 / now: Happy 1/2, SSG 1/4, Catmint 1/4

For the Oenothera fruticosa 'Fireworks', I'd prefer the LP50 flat--I too would feel more comfortable with the larger plugs!

I've also noticed the Dryopteris Brilliance in the past and have thought about getting some.

Happy, I would be willing to do a 1/4 flat if I knew others were interested in cash-trading them. I could only accommodate one of them in my yard, because my moist shade spot is very small.

Coleup: Wouldn't my Geranium flat be an adder too because it wasn't previously added by Aspen?

Aspen: I'm sure I speak for all of us: This co-op can be on hold as long as you like, or if you wish, the rest of us can step up to the plate to figure out what needs to be ordered. It's all your call, once you have some time after taking care of your Mom and getting some rest. If plants sell out, so be it. There is always next year.

Coleup: You are a star to take this on! Two small changes:
--I'm committed to the other 1/2 flat of Viola walteri 'Silver Gem' / 32 / Aspen (1/2).
--I'll commit to a full flat of Dryopteris erythrosora 'Brilliance' LP32 - 32 per flat (catmint, you and anyone else who wants it can take plants from me -- just dmail me).

My back yard is going to look fabulous! I'm thinking of putting the Brilliance in front of azaleas. I am guessing it won't be tall enough before the azaleas bloom in the spring to block the azalea display -- what do you think? But will it be too big in front of the azaleas later in the season, screening them from any sunlight? It grows to 18" - 30" according to North Creek, but only to 24" according to Mobot.

I'll put some in patio pots. I'll also put it in front of some ugly chain link fences -- I can think of lots of places. And it spreads by rhizomes -- yay! Yehudith: With 18 plants being in a flat of the Brandywine helleborous, do you want to split it in 1/3s? That would be 6 plants per. If you split in 1/3s, I'd be down for 1/3 of it.

Yehudith, Helleborus Snow Love isn't going to be available until 2015, so we can't get it this year.

I'd take the other 1/3rd of the new Brandywine flat.

Plus we ordered another flat of Brandywine with Catmint taking 1/4, ssg taking 1/4, and me taking 1/2. Catmint and ssg, should we adjust our percentages on the original flat? How many plants do you each want? Should we go to even thirds (6 plants each) to avoid the 4.5 plants problem? Or divide it some other way? Or just fix it behind the scenes?

Coleup, are you willing to continue your self-appointed volunteer position as co-op updater? That way, we can save Aspen the hassle of doing that. It sounds as if the sooner she can place the next portion of the order the better, if flats are selling out, so it would be nice to save her the time of updating the summary (which she'd still need to transfer to the Excel spreadsheet). -->To be clear, I do not in any way mean to impose any pressure on Aspen to do anything quickly -- I'm ok if the whole co-op gets postponed to next year -- but thought it might be nice to shift some of the work off her shoulders just in case she is able to return to it this season.

Happy, I'm always better with taking a smaller amount. I'll dmail catmint to iron it out.

I'll update completed full flats as we go along. May have time after paper route to tackle partial flats and add in Yehudiths Hellebor quarter flats if the are available. I'm caught up to this point

Coleup: Catbird isn't in on our flat of Brandywine Helleborous. It's Yehudith 1/3, Sequoia 1/3, and Happy 1/3. From what I've read, it looks like Happy is doing partials of two Brandywine flats.

Happy, would you mind sparing some Meehania cordata? Maybe 5 or 10?

Just thinking about it some more: I would be fine dropping out of the flat of Brandywine, and just cash-swapping someone for one or two of the plants. I was mostly just trying to help make a full flat so others who wanted it could have it. :-)

Coleup -- So I think the row that now reads:

Should be revised to read as follows, in light of Catmint's post above:

But I propose we make one further edit, to make the flat easier to divide:

Helleborus "Brandywine' / 18 / Happy (1/3) + SSG (1/3) + Yehudith (1/3)

Then SSG can do a private deal to Catmint for the one or two plants that Catmint wants. Does that work for all involved? I am happy to take more, and Yehudith may be as well -- we both have hills to fill.

Happy, that works for me to get 1/3 of Brandywine. I'll get in touch with Catmint about splitting up my third.

Also, I'm getting my own 1/4 flat of Espresso, so I don't need those 3 plugs, only Bevan's Variety.
